Ms. RInky is right… ECLECTIXISNOTCLOSED!!! It’s moved from a space on Fairmount near the cemetery and is now located on San Pablo Avenue near the Cerrito Theatre. The *new* site has an upstairs gallery and plenty of room for the usual(odd-but-wonderful) bling downstairs. Same wonderful staff, same wonderful stuff… same serendipitous parking situation.(The street, of course.) Do go. And say hello to the owner, Patricia, for me when you are there.

Yay! Eclectix is still alive and kicking! Not only do they have a lot of cool wacky and eclectic knick knacks, they have cool clothing too. I just got a fabulous red sparkly dress for a friend’s birthday. I wasn’t sure if it would fit her since she is itty bitty petite but it fit her perfectly! She said that she felt it was like a «Sisterhood of the Traveling Panrs» dress, that one size would fit all… well almost all. Even though she is a dear friend I am a little too«zoftig» for it, but I’m sure it will make the rounds. They also have an art gallery with featuring local artists… fun stuff, nothing stuffed shirt or uppitty. I always buy something when I go in here. Long live Eclectix!

Weird/nice combination art gallery/novelty/kitsch/retro/funk shop. Very nice owner. If you’re looking for an unusual gift, you may well find it here.

I had a nicer review of this place, but after multiple argumentative emails that were dissatisfied with my 3 stars that were clearly from people with a definite agenda for this place, I am removing them. I also may have to call bullshit on a couple of these low review number profiles– But what do you care? Every one else gives it 5 stars– maybe I’m just being a bitch. But as I was entitled to give it the original 3 stars, I am also entitled to give it just the one. But you go ahead and go in– you may really like it. They just pissed me personally off. Like it says on the disclaimer here– your opinions are your own. Now everyone related to this store leave me alone.

***Well, now it’s closed. Sadness.*** ***NOT closed, moved! To San Pablo Ave; by the movie theater.*** I have a few issues with this store. First of all, I’d like to buy one of everything, which would wreak havoc on my wallet and living space, although it’d look mighty cool. Secondly — when I buy presents here, I find it very hard, yes even impossible, to part with them. Otherwise, the other reviews put it very well.
