I have been a member since 2004 and they have only painted the place once since then!!! 85% of the free weights are not labeled, and the majority of the cardio machines either don’t work or are faulty. Half of the gym is filled with outdated air pressure equipment. I think that with the membership fees that people pay(which are almost twice what other gyms in the area charge) and the hefty initiation fees they charge this gym should really be considering upgrading the equipment and replacing and removing the ones that don’t work anymore. Overall the gym is very big and has many things to do, the staff is great and hopefully in the near future when new management or owners take over it will improve. Specially the equipment. Great staff by the way, they are all very nice and helpful and I think one of the main reason this gym is still in business.

Adequate gym but outdated. Built in 1987 and looks it. Nice 20 yard long pool perfect for laps. Nice wood floor gym for basketball. Good racquetball courts. Tennis courts are never used – too hot year round and there are better ones for free at SouthWest high school. The weight room is ok… but too many gorillas who are used to their mommies cleaning up after them leave barbells laying around everywhere. Treadmills are out of service half the time. Same for elliptical machines. This place needs a remodel, but the membership is reasonable. Changing room has carpet that smells moldy… needs to be tiled. This is the best the Valley has… too bad for us, but we deserve it.

The cardio equipment is old and needs updating. Housekeeping and maintenance could be better. There are some walls that are not completely painted as though they ran out of paint. Lots of patchwork with little regard for aethetics. On the other hand though if you need a workout the club has everything including a large assortment of free weights, yoga, zumba, basketball, racquetball, swimming pool, & tennis courts. It also has lockers, showers, sauna, & jacuzzi. Open on Sundays. Super nice staff.

Uninspiring, gloomy, outdated. Tried a yoga class — one star for the $ 5 drop-in rate, minus infinite stars for the total unyoganess of the«yoga» class, the frigid room, and the goons staring at me from the gym portion as if yoga was a spectator sport and standing around with an open-mouthed blank-but-creepy stare is how you root for you team. The schedule says there is an advanced class. .. on Friday nights, when those who can escape to cities with actual yoga studios. I will not be returning.

Old broken down equipment. Where does all the money I pay for the monthly membership fee go? Never go at 5pm because you’ll get screwed over and won’t have a chance to do your cardio to start off your workout. If you have the option to go to the gym earlier… do it… unless you truly enjoy waiting around to use the weight machines or treadmills/elliptical machines. J&J has awesome staff which makes up for everything.
