i just left this laundromat and am appalled at the way i was treated by a staff member… I went in to make sure their coin machine worked, before I lugged all my laundry there from my home, on foot, as I have no car… A man mopping the floor rudely asked what I wanted, as soon as I entered, to which I replied, «change», to which he immediately demanded to know how much?.. When i told him he said I couldn’t use the coin machine even though I told him I’ve done my laundry there for years…(only because its the closest one to my home…) The man then barked, quote, «I don’t care!»(if you do your laundry here)…and another man who suddenly appeared from behind me claimed they weren’t even open… According to their posted hours they WERE open @ 1pm on a Thursday… To add insult to injury, they have not had hot water available for months… I have decided never to do my laundry at this establishment again… I would rather walk further, to another coin laundry, than deal with such unpleasant people… If it were possible to give this place zero stars i would… they don’t even deserve one…

Ghetto is all I have to say. The Managment doesn’t even bother keeping up with this place. There’s a tv that’s never on. No towels in the towel dispenser. If you need soap you«must see cashier next door» which is an ex liquor store(got their lisence taken away because they weren’t asking for id) half the dryers look broken and most of the washers have mildew or rust on them. Just a ghetto place over all

I came here to wash a sleeping bag that was too big for my home washer. Like most laundry mats, they have a row of commercial/oversized washing machines. The hot water was off and I didn’t see the handwritten sign posted next to the entrance(and nowhere else) as I entered the place. I put $ 2.75 into the machine and selected«hot.» When I returned I found my sleeping bag only slightly damp(mostly dry) and covered in soap. I tried to call the phone number listed in Unilocal to see if I could get a free re-wash, this time using water, but the phone number is disconnected. So I had to spend another $ 2.75 to re-wash it and make another trip back. There is no attendant on site to speak of. Here’s some stuff by the numbers: –Regular wash is 1.00 –Drying is .25 per 7 – 8 minutes –There is a sink to wash your hands but the bathroom has a pad lock and a note saying it is closed due to vandalism. –Most of the machines are beat up, half of the rubbers flap that cover the soap reservoirs are ripped off and the insides look disgusting(Think black spores and crusty build up). I’d say close to 20% of the machines say«out» on a piece of paper. Can you say, «Deferred maintenance?» –The soap vending machine is out of service, but the sign says you can buy it in the attached market next door.(Most likely for a regular sized bottle at an inflated price. It pays to be prepared. –There are two change machines and luckily one of them works. –There is no heating or air conditioning to speak of –There is a TV but all of the buttons have been removed, almost as if someone used needle-nose pliers to rip each one out. The TV was off, I assume it’s not working either. –The place could stand to be cleaned a bit better. I imagine they just do a quick sweep and wipe down each day, but never a deep cleaning of the place. I gave it two stars because you can actually come here with dirty clothes and leave with clean ones, so without setting the bar too high you might not be disappointed. That being said, I think it’s safe to say I will not be back.

First time ever washing and drying my clothes in a public laundromat! Not too bad of an experience overall. Facility is clean and the washers are only $ 1.00 per load. They have industrial size washers for $ 2.75 also. The dryers are 0.25 cents per each 8(7.5) minutes. The only negative part was the guy at the convience mart next door was not too pleasant and did not like the fact that I was taking pictures and putting this place up on Unilocal!=(He was very negative and unfriendly or else this first laundromat experience would have been a solid FIVE stars! Will most likely be back if my assignment here in SD continues longer cuz you can never rely on the two washers and dryers at the Motel 6 across where I’m staying. =)
