Ben E. Embry, Attorney at Law

I was going through a divorce and trying to save my home from going into foreclosure while doing a loan Modification. I was told I could file for bankruptcy and stop the sale of the home and I was referred to Ben Embry with Panagopoulos Embry in Mission Valley to file Bankruptcy to stop the sale auction of the home on 11÷2÷15. I was told the wrong date by the lender and Ben charged me $ 1300.00. Not only did he not check the auction date, he filed the paperwork the day AFTER the house sold at auction. His assistant, Edward Medina, told me they would send a refund check for all fees minus the $ 300 filing fee and file a Dismissal at no cost. One week later, no return call from Ben, no check. I wasn’t given any type of a contract or official receipt or copies of anything I signed. No California State Bar License number on his business card. Doesn’t return calls. Do not hire this attorney. He is shady.
