Interesting… as a 650 night lifetimer I just noticed that this is a Fairfield Inn and suites… I didn’t get a suite, maybe I didn’t book it that way… oh well. I get spoiled with the courtyards but not all areas have them and this is convenient. It’s a fine Fairfield, I only have one complaint, the floor/ceilings are paper thin, I could loudly hear every step from the folks on 4. Request top floor and walk lightly.

Nice accommodations & staff is friendly. Rooms are very clean, pool area is clean & jacuzzi works it does however need resurfaced. The rest of the hotel appears to have been newly remodeled. Bold colors & quality Linens. Slept well even if bed was a bit soft for my taste. Television in room was a bit smaller than I’m use to in hotels but that’s not a deal breaker. Very impressed with location & cleanliness off facility.

As I lay here in bed, listening to the vehicles on the interstate, I wonder if three stars is too generous. It is almost midnight and it sounds like an elephant is walking around in the room above us! Could this place have thinner walls and meet standard regulations? The view outside our window is of a concrete wall. That is literally all I can see is a concrete wall and extension cords exposed to the weather. I attached a photo. The rooms are updated and clean, mattresses are comfortable. The continental breakfast has a variety of items to chose from. If you want to connect to the wifi head to the breakfast area. ****If you stay here request a room facing the east.

The drain in the tub was clogged, causing the water in the shower to accumulate. It did drain eventually, though. At breakfast the carton of milk I chose was spoiled — ugh.

Why I only gave it 3 stars, one reason is the price! I expected to pay about $ 50 less than I did for the one night I was there. And also because I was only there for 8 hours to sleep and didn’t see the rest of what the hotel had to offer. What I liked, it was clean! That is one thing I can not do is stay in a room that looks even a little dirty! They allow Pets! Which is the main reason why we stayed here for a $ 10 charge which wouldn’t have been bad at all if the room wasn’t already overpriced! The room was very spacious, bed was comfortable and they offered breakfast in the morning. I only caught the very end of what was left for breakfast so it was ok but it looked like it would have bed really good if I would have gotten to it sooner.

Stayed for one night, my wife and I with out 2yo in a king suite. Room was as quiet as could be and our little one slept like a hibernating bear. We all loved the enormous breakfast spread in the morning. Will 100% stay here again. You should try it out!

Clean and cheap way to get some Marriott reward points Thin towels, small room and uninspired continental breakfast. The pool is so tiny, it is more of a hot tub. Next time I will stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, the extra money is well worth it.

I have been to this Fairfield a few times now, and I have to say it’s alright. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and it is conveniently located. My only gripe was when I came to check in carrying most of my luggage and my room wasn’t ready, the desk clerk did not offer to check/store my bags so I had to go back to my car with all of my bags in tow(in the rain). It is a nice hotel in Effingham, and as a Marriott rewards member, I appreciate its presence.

I have stayed in a lot of Fairfields and this one is definitely at the top of the list. It opened in the summer of 2007 and is so much nicer than your typical Fairfield. There are flat-screen HDtvs(although no HD signal). I usually stay in a Hampton when I’m in Effingham, but as a Marriott guy I was happy to see that a Fairfield popped up in Effingham!
