Food was good, but I believe there was only one waiter for the whole place tonight. Extremely understaffed on a Thursday night. You know they are understaffed when the cook has to come out and deliver the food. This is three stars only because the food was that good. Otherwise this would’ve been a lower score. We have been here before and never encountered this at this restaurant.

We met another couple for dinner. After our drinks, we ordered food. It seemed like a long wait for the food, as evidenced when out waiter apologized for not being in the dining area as he was prepping our food. He attributed it to being busy, but there were only about 5 tables with no groups bigger than 4. It seemed as if someone had called off or they were understaffed. None of this had an impact on the quality of the food. We had the fish tacos, salmon dip, and blue chips. Each was great and full of flavor we had a couple of the $ 5 Sunday Bloody Marys which are a must have any day of the week! Even our server Joshua was on top of things, it just seemed they were asking a lot of service staff and not properly staffed in the back of the house. I’d recommend stopping in and trying the food and a bloody Mary!

I loved everything about this place so I don’t even know where to start: Décor: very cool and smart, mason jar with up to date bill with all the prices for what they have on top and bottle. Cool idea. The menu is a newspaper. Overall I wish I thought of it Drinks: best Bloody Mary I have ever had so much that even my husband couldn’t stop drinking it and he doesn’t even like bloody Mary’s Also a great selection of beers on tap. Love the milk stout. Food: u must try the smoke salmon dip even if u don’t like salmon dip. It’s nothing I have ever had. It has hickory bqq, creamy, and a hint of smoke salmon that just goes well with even the tots they have. The salmon dinner was good too. Perfectly cooked salmon on top of a creamy corn. So the pound of Blt. Wow it was huge and we had bacon for breakfast but the bread was perfect with a nice thick cut heirloom tomato and super crispy romaine and mayo. Then for lunch we had these amazing ahi tuna taco. The pickle onion on it was just perfect with their slaw. If u love french dip. U will love it here the bread is light and airy and the prime rib is full of favor and tender that u really don’t even need to dip it. Price/service: very nice staff and owners have put in a lot of love as they are passionate about what they offer. Super kid friendly place. Good menu for kids and super accommodating as they add ground beef to my son pasta. Prices are almost too reasonable for the quality of food… This would be three times the price if we were in Chicago. My new favorite place and place to look forward to if my husband is working in the area or if I need to work in st.Louis. It’s worth the drive.

Great food and signature cocktails. This place has a nice atmosphere and a cool little outdoor patio. Everything on the menu is delicious.

I love coming here even though it’s 45 min from my house. The food is Always great, the staff is Always friendly, and the variety of Bourbon is Always plentiful. I had a buffalo chicken salad and soup lunch special for $ 8. Can’t beat the price or the quality. The flavors were complimentary and balanced! The dressing didn’t overpower the ingredients, the bacon was thick and crisp, the cheese didn’t overpower the dressing. I was duly impressed. The soup was delicate but hearty. Thanks Social!

Ordered the deviled eggs(different but good) and the salmon taco was good but sauce to hot for my gringo ass! Sautéed Brussels sprouts = YUM! Interesting menu and fair pricing. Will definitely hit this place again if in town!

The food and drinks are five stars, the service is three stars. We’ve never had any food from this restaurant that we didn’t absolutely love– some favorites are the Japanese Ramen, the Brick Chicken, and of course the Mac and Cheese. Our daughter has always hated mac and cheese, but she begs to get it from Gastropub. Also, great cocktails and an awesome beer selection, with a complete beer list on every table. We love this place, but they just can’t seem to get their servers trained well. I don’t know what it is, but we’ve had several different servers and they always seem to disappear for a long time at some point in the meal. I understand that food of this quality can sometimes take a while to prepare, and that’s no problem, but we always end up sitting with empty drinks for a long time and it always seems to take far too long to get and pay the bill. Not horrible(not 1 star service) but just not great. Overall, we always consider Gastropub first when we go out to eat, and we hope it stays open for a long time. Be sure to go check it out!

Pleasantly surprised to find such a sophisticated menu! Perfect fare for a curious palate, but plenty of delicious choices for even the not so adventurous guest. The bar is amazing, as are their signature drinks. Try anything with St. Germaine in the recipe, it is divine! I’ve been obsessed with that liquor ever since my first visit. The outside of the building is deceiving, only because it doesn’t quite flow with the interiors vibe. Once inside you are met with a crisp, clean, and breezy décor that raises your senses(at least during lunch). I’ve never had dinner here but I imagine it would be lively and cozy. I love all of the offerings and attention to details that this gastro pup delivers! 5 Stars easy…

The atmosphere here is good, the food is great, they change it up every once in awhile, the service is slow though, even when it’s not busy and most times that’s a turn off.

Enjoyed my food and drinks on a Thursday night. Sat at the bar and impressed by the space. I believe Emily was the bartender and she was great. Will come back again if in the area, hope the community supports this place. Prices seemed fair for the quality and quantity.

Im pretty shocked this doesn’t have an all around five star rating. We found this place looking on Unilocal for somewhere new to visit and let me tell ya they delivered. My expectations were high after hearing they had build your own MacNCheese.(You see I live with the worlds biggest MacNCheese fan.) We took the kids and even they were overly happy with our food, kinda of a big deal they are six and seven. I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf-minus the mustard sauce. I am pretty sure if I was on death row I would ask for this for my last meal. Even the leftovers rocked my world. We got chirzo egg roles before our meal and the jalapeños were spicy and delivered a wonderful punch that was welcome. My boyfriend had the lamb burger, which I stole a bite of, also top notch. We did not get beverages because we had the kiddos with us, but I loved the beer list and the atmosphere. Its super clean and open in there. So we will for sure be making this one of our normal spots in the rotation.

Tried for the first time tonight, I got the smokin salmon and my wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich. We split a appetizer chorizo queso egg rolls. The salmon and app were fantastic, my wife said the buffalo sauce was very good but the sandwich lacked enough chicken and was a little chewy. She also had a caesar salad which she thought was good. Overall service was the best I have had, food was really good, beer selection excellent, only complaint I have is interior is very open and sterile. Needs a more private feel with some added wood tones. Feels like your eating in a banquet room, but it won’t stop me from coming back and trying some menu items.

It just doesn’t float my boat. The dining area is huge and uninviting and either way too loud or eerily quiet. The food menu is just not interesting and the food is fine but nothing spectacular. I’ve been here a few times and one might ask why, well there just aren’t that many options in the area so I always get dragged back here for birthdays and happy hours etc.(not that they offer a happy hour special) it’s one of those places I can’t really put my thumb on why I don’t like it there just is nothing impressive about it except for its location. I hope to update my review to more stars someday but at this point it’s just a three-star ‘blah’

2nd meal at the Social Gastropub. Amazing!!! Angela is a great waitress. She was attentive and has great customer service skills! The Mac and cheese is literally to die for! I had the meatloaf sandwich the first time and this time I went with the prime rib sandwich. Both are great but the Mac and cheese blows me away!

I remember the space when it was Shenanigans, and it has gone through a facelift. The open floor plan makes it seem MUCH larger. There’s a patio, too, but it was a little too windy to try out the night we visited. Service was fine on a light-traffic Thursday night. Cocktails: She had the Wood & Salt, which looked and tasted wonderful. I would recommend it as a cold-weather sort of cocktail. I had the Last Word, much better than the one that I tried to make last New Year’s Eve. Salads: I had a Caesar; she had a Social House. Entrees: She had a Bacon & Bleu Sirloin(GF, minus the onion straws); I had Baja Fish Tacos. Primarily salmon with smoked jalapeño cilantro sauce, they were(surprisingly!) the best fish tacos I’ve ever eaten. The sides of sweet & sour cole slaw and parsley fries were just right. I’m glad I tried SG. It was better than expected.

This was my first time at Social Gastropub. My first impression when walking through the front door was that it has a rather odd layout. There’s no entryway so to speak… you walk right up to the hostess station which is in the very open dining room. Because the dining area is so open, and it was a Saturday night at 7pm, it was loud. But there was no wait and only a handful of tables available. Out server was great. Very helpful, explained the menu and the gigantic draft beer selection which changes regularly. My date and I decided on a draft beer and calamari appetizer to start. The calamari was great… breaded and fried, sprinkled with salt, and served with a jalapeño aoili. The sauce made that dish! For my entrée, I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and my date had the chop chicken wrap. We both got a side of mac and cheese. Their mac and cheese was great… spiral noodles served with a white cheese sauce. The noodles were cooked to perfection… al dente, just the way I like them. The buffalo chicken and chop chicken wrap were great. Chicken was roasted and served with a spicy buffalo and blue cheese sauce, fried pickles and pepper jack cheese on a toasted roll. The chop chicken wrap was filled was roasted chicken, gorganzola cheese, bacon, etc. Our server came by several times to check on us and refill our drinks and water. Overall a very good experience and excellent service. There were several items on the menu I would come back to try. I think the only downfall to this place is the massively wide-open dining area.

This is a great lunch option in Edwardsville! One of my good friends lives on that side of the river, so I’m always on the hunt for fun places to meet her. It was funny seeing her reaction to how different Social is compared to what used to be there before. I had no frame of reference, but apparently there have been some serious improvements! The interior is nice, and we were the only ones there at 11am. It started to fill up a little towards the middle of our meal. Dude. The build-your-own mac & cheese. How can you say no to that? I somehow did, but they start with a signature cheese blend and cavatappi pasta, and you add the rest. Corn, scallions, sriracha, mushrooms, chorizo, sirlion, lamb, lobster. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure but with food. The rest of the menu is equally as impressive! The buffalo chicken egg rolls looked awesome, and so did the baja fish tacos. I ordered the stuffed red pepper(which curiously isn’t on the online menu anymore) and it was wonderful. No real complaints here! I’m sure we’ll stop by again at some point the next time I’m out that way for lunch. I’m not going to say no to the mac & cheese again though, so stay tuned for an update.

Discovered this restaurant via a Groupon and way happy! Food is remarkable. Do not leave without ordering the Buffalo Chicken Eggroll! That is the best thing I’ve ever had. We wanted to sample a few things so we ordered plain mac and cheese, the Pressed Cuban sandwich and the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. For our sides we got the seasoned fries and cole slaw. Skip the fries. The flavors are so great that the slaw compliments it and is so very very tasty. Note to the hungry, let your food sit for a lil bit when it comes out steaming hot. The flavors will mesh together and taste heavenly. We could not stop eating all the eggrolls so we couldn’t finish our meals. Ironically, the Cuban and the grilled cheese were so much better the next day at lunch room temperature. I kind of want to just order them to go the night before and take for lunch every day now. I’m a purest when it comes to mac n chase so plain was the way to go. It didn’t need a thing. Service was great too, but maybe just a lil over selling. I don’t know if that’s a negative or not. All of our questioned were asked and refills, etc were prompt. Will return for sure. Note they have to go orders! Check out their online menu. I love that they show a great picture with each item and it’s description.
