Shiny Nails

I guess… It depends on people who doing your nails. There is an old lady called Nancy, shes very awful :(:(crying.
I’m sorry but i have to say it.
She try to be very friendly to customers but it’s way too talkative.; and in the end my nails are crappy.
She really do not know how to handle nails. Not professional at all. Service also awful. Everyone knows but her. I guess :)

Worse manicure ever. I’m here visiting from California. I went in to get a gel manicure. She filled my nails like shit, they were nicely shipped before I went in and I told her to keep the shape. She didn’t even clean under mine or my daughters nails (my daughter is 8 so of course there’s dirt under hers!) she rushed, and the paint job was horrible! I choose black color and it’s not even painted evenly or great. The «massage» was literally 15 seconds per hand/​arm. Then said «ok looks so good» ummm nope looks so bad and wasn’t even relaxing. Waste of $ 25.

Wouldn’t return. I’m normally really patient, but I was told it would take about a 15 minute wait. It’s been over an hour waiting just soaking in the pedicure tub. Other people have come in and been helped before me. When I asked why so long and others were helped before me I was basically ignored and told they would get to me soon. I totally understand being busy and having a lot of clients to service, but don’t ignore me. Ended up leaving. Won’t ever return.

It’s crazy that everyone has had a bad experience. Maybe it’s because it was years ago. But I have had nothing but GREAT experiences! I go once a month and sometimes twice a month! I absolutely love it! I have no complaints. I always ask for Nhi Nhi (pronounced Knee-​knee). She’s so friendly, helpful, professional, and polite; and, if you ask, she will translate for you so you know what’s going on. They get 5 stars from me!!! If you’re in the area, ask for Nhi Nhi!!!

Horrible service. The nail technician rushed through my gel nail manicure, and then was in such a hurry, when she put the clear top coat on, she got it all over my skin around my nail. My skin is «glued» to my nail. She said it was ok though… No its not ok! My nails look terrible. I am a flight attendant and everyone looks at my hands. I’m embarrassed. Horrible.

Nothing bad to say but nothing great either. I’ve been a few times and service was ok. Had to wait for awhile because not enough technicians.

My cousin and I went here before my birthday, to get our nails done. The woman doing my manicure made me bleed, the gel yellowed within hours, and she missed the topcoat altogether in some places. I eventually had to cut off the parts of my nails left without a topcoat because the color had yellowed so terribly. My cousin, on the other hand, got a lovely pedicure and some sort of foot fungus. Three months later it is still hanging on. The salon was crowded, slow, and unsanitary.

If I could give no stars then that’s what this place deserves! I am visiting from Florida for a wedding and went in to get gels. My nails were very long (all mine) and on my right hand I had two that were a little shorter so natural thing to do is even them out! NO! They chopped them completely off. Not only did they chop them off but they are all crooked. Then when I said something she spoke another language and got up and had someone else do my nails. The new lady said the other lady felt bad… OK sh*t happens, not the end of the world. When they finished I noticed my thumbs were yellowed (due to the heat lamp — did my research) so I stated to her hey some nails are yellow she said it’s your nail polish — got up and walked away. Not worth the aggregation or the disappointment!

This is the worst place to go in Edwardsville if you are wanting to get your nails done. I went there on a Sunday to get a pedicure, and paid extra for the Deluxe where you are supposed to get callous eliminator and an extra massage. Literally the guy did not even remove my nail polish, probably filed the tip of ONE nail, did not even scrub my feet nor did he use any callous eliminator. Then, to top it off he painted over my old nail polish which you could see through the new polish. WORST pedicure I have ever received for the price. I recommend going to US Nails in Maryville. The customer service there is much much better!

Worst experience ever!!! I have never in my life experienced a worse nail salon. I could have overlooked the horrible «Deluxe» pedicure and manicure if the people doing mine and my cousin’s pedicure were actually nice people. No. We were met with attitude, rolling eyes, and rudeness the entire time. Now, I have been to many places with the same cheap prices where this has never been the case. I have also always considered myself to be pretty easy to please, very polite, and a good tipper when I see people working hard. I am mad that I even paid for these services after the way my cousin and I were treated during our experience. The pedicure lasted about 12 minutes and was supposed to include salt scrub, massage, and callus remover of course being the deluxe and all. The massage was lotion on my leg for five seconds, the callus remover non-​existent. I would have been better off soaking my feet in my tub at home and painting my own nails. She also made me bleed which I would have overlooked if she said anything about it or was remotely polite. My manicure was awful as well. You could see right through the polish because she didn’t put another coat on, it was sloppy, and she had little interest in filing the nails evenly. I had to take the file from her at one point because she refused to file this one point down. My cousin (who was trying to have a relaxing and pampered birthday) had her manicure done in about five minutes and the polish could be smudged off easily even after like half hour of drying. After all that, as I was drying my nails one of them asked me to move for another customer. As if!!! I was so pissed. My cousin and I spoke to the manager and explained that we had already paid but we wanted her to know how horrible the experience was. She smiled and said sorry, clueless as to why her business was that slow on a Saturday. I’m not sure what these people’s issue was with my cousin and I but they certainly did not deserve to be paid. Certainly we did because we had the treatments after all. We definitely should have left after the awful pedis in the first place. Rude, dirty, horrible place. Never support this business!!! They made me so angry that they made me write my first and only review online!!!

HORRIBLE!!! I’ve gotten alot of Mani/​pedis and this one was the worst experience by far. When you go to Shiny you pick out the pedi you want off a sheet, so it gives you list of exactly what its supposed to be. We picked the Deluxe. The cooling gel towelettes they put on calfs was a scalding hot rag, the «massage» was a quick rub of lotion on the legs. Then off to manicure, I got a regular with gold polish that, even after sitting under black light for 20 minutes, the polish still immediately moved and rubbed off after shower a couple hours later! I haven’t even gotten to my cousin yet who was with me, she took the file out of the girls hand cause the girl wouldn’t file her nail how she asked so she did it herself after the manicurist rolled her eyes the entire service. I told the manager of our unpleasant experience. I wouldn’t leave a review if they had actually been nice and did a mediocore job, but they were mean to us and rude, and I don’t want anyone to be subjected to that and have to pay for it in the end. We even still left a tip and the guy didn’t even thank me when I paid and it was my birthday too. Oh and my cousin was sitting under the dryer and the guy asked if she would get up so he could give her chair to a different customer, even though there were literally 7 other nail tables empty! There are a ton more nail salons in edwardsville so you have choices, I unfortunaly just moved here and didn’t know. They should be put out of business.

I’ve been getting mani pedi’s here for a year now. I love how they always try to accomodate my last minute required sessions! They’re always nice and pleasant and meet your requests. Plus the chairs are just far enough apart to enjoy your pedi. You are not on top of people. They have flat screen tv’s to keep you occupied or magazines to read. I always feel relaxed after I leave here. They used to be the cheapest place in town. Still good price. $ 30 for a mani pedi. Used to be like $ 26
