This place is a wine/​beer lover’s dream. I always enjoy trying out new styles and types of both, and Friar Tuck delivers in spades. They have a huge selection of wine broken down by type and location. Then they have a section where you can find the local and «mainstream» varieties.
After that comes the beer fridge and a back wall dedicated to all sorts of bottled beers. They also have a build your own six pack feature which is one of my favorite things to do in stores like this.
They also have liquor, cheese, and merchandise sections but honestly I never make it that far. They do have wine tasting, though I’m not sure when those typically happen. Also, this is kind of a self-​service place. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen more than two workers at a time, but that doesn’t bug me too much. I like to explore and browse without someone hovering the whole time.
It’s a booze superstore! Where could you go wrong?

The smell of the new wood is fading, but I still like the casual way the wines are displayed, one on top of the box edge, the rest in the box. The selection is good, the prices are reasonable for Metro East STL (still, I like Randall’s pricing more) and the staff is there to help, if you ask for it. Check out the monthly flyer for specials.

Someone needs to be taught customer service 101 at this joint. One gal was too busy eating some sort of snack at the checkout lane, asked a question, said to go talk to another fellow that was there. Asked about 2 different beers, one they did not have which is o.k.Asked about another, said they had it in big bottles or 4 packs. There was one 4 pack on the shelf, and where the big bottles were, pointed and said that’s where they usually are, and there was some in the back. NEVER offered to go get any, went right back to talking to either another employee or a liquor rep. WHAT A JOKE!!! I’LL GO TO LUKAS IN MISSOURI, THEY APPRECIATE THE BUSINESS, YOU SURE AS HELL DON’T! !!!
