As a college student in his early 20’s, I can confidently say that any man young or old will not get a better cut in the area. Kari and Courtney know men’s hair and hairstyles. No disrespect, but a barber is trained to cut men’s hair and will give you a much better cut. Most stylists at those chain stores are trained to cut women’s hair. Both ladies at Eakers know the latest styles and will take the time to cut your hair exactly how you want it. Walk in, take a seat, and relax knowing you’re gonna get a good looking cut. Sometimes there’s a wait, but I see that as a good thing. There’s a reason this place is busy! The atmosphere is friendly and Kari and Courtney seem to get the whole place engaged in a conversation. I highly recommend it!

Family owned… old school from the barber chairs to the phone. Cash only. Friendly and worth a shave and haircut. Will definitely visit when I’m in town!

My favorite time of the month is haircut time. And nothing is worse than going to the McDonalds of haircuts(that’s you, Great Clips) and realizing your hair isn’t what you want. Granted, online check in, minimal wait, and a cheap price that can’t be beat could all be considered pros, they are also traits of fast food. Eaker’s doesn’t offer the cheapest price in town, the fastest haircut, or scheduled appointments. Kari runs and old-time barbershop. Walk-ins and cash only. Being the third generation family owner, it shows the way customers talk about her and the legacy before her. She remembers everyone’s name and how they like their haircut. More often than not regulars show up with coffee and lunch in tow for her. All of this to mention the haircut itself. No matter what the style, old-fashioned to new age, she can do it. More than anywhere else I have had my hair cut, she knows hair. She knows how to work with thick, curly, thin, etc. I’ve never left disappointed, and everyone I have recommended has loved it. So, for once a month, take your time. Stop in, relax in the old-fashioned chairs, talk to the patrons, check out the pictures on the wall, and tell her to keep the change. It’s the experience.

Old school barber shop down to the vintage chairs. Kari does a great job I’ve never had a complaint. Hate getting my hair cut anywhere else.

Great place. Kari is so friendly and gives a great haircut. Neck shave is a nice added touch. Great advocate for Edwardsville.

This is the best place I have been to for a hair cut. Kari has cut my hair for the past four years, and I come from Normal, IL regularly to get hair cuts from her. Kari is so kind, and she always remembers how I get my hair cut done. She is an exceptional talent and a wonderful, caring person. Highly recommended to all.

What a great experience! Our son’s first Haircut and it went great! Our son is 19 months and a HUGE handful. She did such a great job with him even though he was so fussy and shy. Totally recommend! Thanks alot

Amazing! Kari Eakers took over the barber shop when her dad passed away and does an amazing job. My husband and three year old son both go to her for haircuts — the little one is autistic and she does such a great job with him. Even on the days that he doesn’t get his hair cut, she puts him in her chair and pretends to cut it and he lets her. Then he hops down, goes over to the candy box and grabs a tootsie roll :-) She opens at 6am on Saturday and there is always a line of old guys waiting for their social hour, I mean hair cuts. ;-) It’s a true barber shop experience and you won’t find better in the area. Don’t forget it’s cash only, no appointments and if you get there too late and she’s too full, she will unashamedly turn you away and tell you to come back some other time :-)
