I’ve only been to Cleveland Heath two times so far but each time i was VERY happy with my visit! Excellent food, excellent staff, excellent experience!

I’ll begin with the positives. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. The biscuits, especially the honey butter, and the beignets were particularly excellent. But now for the harsh truth. Organic must be code for terrible. This place is just overpriced hipster bs. The food was genuinely bad. And it wasn’t anything the kitchen did incorrectly. The ingredients were just terrible. I had a New York strip and my cousin had a pork chop, and the cuts of meat were so inferior to any cut I’ve gotten from any chain restaurant. If you care about knowing what farm your cow came from at the expense of it actually being edible, this place is for you. Even if it were a quarter of the price, I wouldn’t recommend it. They are catering to a niche market, and I have now learned I am not part of that niche. This is a place for people with too much money and no working taste buds.

If I want a STL restaurant-quality meal without crossing the river Cleveland Heath is at the top of my list. I really like that their menu is small because that means everything is great. Their mixed fries are amazing, along with the pork burger which is what I usually get. The moonshine mojito is a favorite drink of my boyfriend and I’s, but I like to try different cocktails from their ever-changing menu. The side salad is generous, the kale is our favorite. Service is always excellent with a very friendly and helpful staff.

Yes all the rumors you have heard about this place are true– the food is amazing !!! Kale salad pork soup fresh biscuits amazing deviled eggs — and these are just the starters. Would recommend all items on the menu, really can’t go wrong with any choice. Lunch and dinner service– be prepared to wait for a table they are always busy and don’t take reservations. We always go between main seating times and get a table right away

The service was spectacular! They truly served us well and several servers were involved to assure that things were like they should be. They even made sure that we were warm enough since we were placed by a window. The restaurant is a little small, but cozy. The food was was delicious, but I had to send a few things back because of the salt. There was way too much salt for my liking. The kale salad had salt sprinkled on top of it(sent back), but given a whole new one made without. Also, the chicken wings were brined and it made them way too salty and I sent those back with no issues. I enjoyed a kale salad and unsalted fries. They’re smoked mayo and dips were delightful and we all split the pumpkin bread pudding and that was outstanding. I’d go back and order something different!

3 words: locally sourced ingredients! This restaurant is top notch. They use quality ingredients and seasonal produce which provide for a meal of superior quality compared to all other restaurants in the area. Favorite dishes: brussel sprout appetizer, gringo tacos, BLT, burger, every single special they offer, and for dessert the beignets. The margaritas are amazing as the bar tender/mixologists make their own sour mix of fresh citrus, yum! Draw backs: because their food is phenomenal and they don’t take reservations the wait can be crazy especially on a weekend evening; easily expect a 1 — 2 hour wait during peak dining times. And, wine prices are crazy! I ordered a glass of their house cab and was shocked by the $ 15 bill I was handed. I drink a lot of wine having recently relocated to Illinois from wine country in California and I’m happy to pay for a quality wine, but never for a house wine variety.

This is by far one of the best places in Edwardsville! I highly recommend it! I definitely recommend their BLT, tacos, or any of their burgers for lunch. Pretty much any of their dinner entrees are going to be superb. They also have really great unique drinks.

Sometimes when a place has soooo many good reviews I think – what do I have to add? But I couldn’t pass up complimenting the service and food at Cleveland-Heath! We sat outside on a nice evening in their lovely patio. We had an extremely attentive server who went above and beyond(literally) to make our meal fantastic – my mom ordered the Kale salad to try out, but mom doesn’t really like Kale, and didn’t eat much of it. The server asked if it was okay, and my mom said, she’s sure it was good, but she just doesn’t care for Kale. And the server insisted on brining us a complimentary dessert and taking the salad off the bill! PLUS… she found out my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and she gave us complimentary glasses of Prosecco. Maybe this was a one-off experience, but she was truly an amazing server. Even the hostess was phenomenal! She kept checking in on us and giving us an update on our wait. She was also polite and asked if we’d like to sit outside at the next available table or wait. We had some of the highly recommended foods such as the deviled eggs appetizer, chips and salsa, and the pulled pork sandwich. We tried their tasty cocktails. Overall, we ate like Kings and really didn’t walk away with too high a bill! It was fantastic! We loved our experience and will definitely be going back!

I’ve gotten a few things here(Pork burger, fish tacos) but my GOTO and the ULTIMATE sandwich is the Pulled Pork! It’s fantastic! Do not let the blue cheese deter you from getting it. I do not like blue cheese but on the sandwich it is creamy and barely noticeable. The pretzel bun is the perfect touch to the sandwich, along with the homemade pickles! I love the mixed fries too — again I usually don’t like sweet potato fries! I also get the side of Brussel Sprouts, and sticking with the theme… I do not like brussel sprouts but with the cheese, lemon and capers — wow! Now onto drinks — I’ve not had one I haven’t liked! :-)

No need for a long review. Everything on the menu is amazing. But you will have to wait if you go during peak times. Tip: The wait is never as long as they say.

I’ve been here several times with my family and some other with friends. Always a great environment as well as the waiters wearing plaid shirts. Tip is to get there slightly before 5 to guarantee a seat. I’ve tried some of their cocktails including margarita and pear cider which were delicious as well as their soda. I’ve tried a variety of dishes since my first time there, including the street tacos, burger, BLT, and pork chop. My favorite is the burger with its special sauce and combo potato and sweet potato fries with a delicious sweet ketchup sauce to dip. BLT had an abundance of bacon. And the fried Brussels spouts are a great healthy side dish my parents always get with parmesan cheese on top. Always one of my first picks to eat when I come back to Edwardsville to visit family and friends.

I wrote about this place on Facebook after I went on a Friday. My buddy’s wife saw my post and thought I said«Cleveland Health» by accident, but you know what? It should probably be called that, because you’re likely to feel pretty amazing after eating there. One thing I really enjoyed was the fact that the menu is really small. They know what they’re good at making, and I was told the menu rotates seasonally. That being said, be sure to order the mac ‘n cheese starter and share it with your group — the cheese sauce has a truly tangy and rich flavor that is some of the best I’ve ever had. I was also told to try the devil eggs, and they were great. Paprika, a dash of hot sauce, and all the right seasonings — definitely a treat! My only gripe was that for $ 4.95, you only get 3 small ones. Could definitely benefit from adding an extra 1 or 2 for the price. For my entrée, I was torn between getting one of their larger dinners, or a sandwich. Having eaten far more mac ‘n cheese than my date, I wisely went with the BLT, and it just hit every flavor profile in the most perfect way imaginable. The bread was artisanal, the bacon was extra crispy, and the tomatoes were so fresh. It also came with a mix of regular and sweet potato skinny fries. I’m now convinced that EVERY restaurant should do this — it’s seriously the best. Cleveland Heath is a reminder that you can find fantastic, trendy restaurants all around — not just in St. Louis City. I’ll definitely be making trips back!

Towards the end of LouFest, I had the pleasure to get their beignets, and crispy fried chicken biscuits! Very friendly and helpful staff, and the prices were very good for what they sold. The beignets were deliciously good, especially with powdered sugar. Meanwhile, the biscuits were so filling, I ended up eating them separately from the crispy fried chicken which were seasoned well! Thanks once again!

Gluten free guy visiting from San Francisco. I never in a million years imagined I would be SOOOOOOO impressed with a restaurant in downtown Edwardsville, IL. The first thing that strikes you when you arrive is the incredibly friendly service. They literally make you feel special — being from CA a part of me wondered if they knew something that I didn’t know(perhaps a secret tv show was there to film some crazy reaction I would have to some bad news) but alas… they were just NICE! As a gluten free guy, I’m always a little worried but they were super accommodating at every turn. I also had my two year old son, and my senior parents and the servers worked so hard to ensure that we all had our needs met. My son needed a nap and one server came over to offer him some oranges to occupy his time. It was PERFECT. Now…the food: — I ordered the pulled pork served on their homemade GF cheddar biscuits and they were PHENOMENAL!!! Perfect portion and fantastic flavor. — I also had a FANTASTIC drink called something God of something. It was a perfectly balanced drink and super creative. — my son had the Japanese pancake and loved it! It had fantastic flavors and was also GF(without the soy sauce) — my mom had the burger and she said it was one of the juiciest she’d ever had. She loved the fries and said that they were really well done. — my dad had cherry pie and a root beer float(yes…my dad has the best lunch ideas) and he was absolutely in heaven. The cherry pie was an actual, mini cherry pie. He said the crust was the best part. All in all, I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could — and I don’t say that very often. I will definitely come back here every time I’m in town.

Cleveland-Heath is quite possibly the most significant restaurant experience I’ve had having lived six years in the Saint Louis metro. Let me say that first to get your attention; and now I shall tell you why: My wife and I walked in about 8:30PM on a Saturday night. It was not well marked on the outside and we were wondering if maybe we had missed the restaurant. But this is simply part of the«neighborhood» appeal of the place from what I can tell. We were greeted immediately by our hostess; friendly, approachable, non-patronizing. Due to it being so crowded(at 8:45 no less!) we were informed it would be a 45 minute wait for a table. Because 1) we had made a 30 minute drive out to Edwardsville and 2) we had been wanting to try this place for at least a couple years hearing the hype on Unilocal,we decided the wait should be more than worth it. And boy… were we right. The hostess came outside not even five minutes later to tell us a table had opened up outside; and so we were seated almost immediately despite being told there was a wait. Our waiter, Jeff, greeted us promptly and would then proceed to give us some of the best table service I’ve ever had personally. Jeff’s knowledge of the menu was obvious, his awareness of their food sourcing intelligent, and boy did he know beer. He was also very conversational and personal. I ordered a Helles import and it was served at an appropriate temperature, in appropriate glassware, and poured correctly. We ordered our food based largely on the recommendations of Jeff. I ordered the Cheves bowl(lamb/goat with marinated black beans) and my wife had the burger. We also ordered their Mac and cheese to share. Jeff would ask if it was our first time; and it was. Jeff would then proceed to bring us three complementary dishes from the kitchen; a sample of their deviled eggs, their watermelon pork belly, and beignets at the end of our meal. This means we received approximately $ 15 complementary food just for being newcomers. Our food was an explosion of competent flavor arrangements unlike any other I’ve had in the area. The lamb bowl was outstanding and my favorite meal I’ve had in some years. Deep complex flavors reminiscent of Cuban flavors. It was unbelievable. The pork belly is quite possibly the most memorable flavor explosion I’ve ever had. One small bite explodes sweet watermelon and savory/salty fried pork belly cut by mint herb on top. Mind-blowing. I could go on and on about the food but can do little else other than tell you to try it yourself and see for yourself just how competent the flavor profiles are in their food. The ambiance outside reminds me of private nooks in California and the Northwest. It was quiet, private, well lit, and extremely casual without losing any of the romance. My highest recommendation for STL cuisine to date. Booyah!

We were met with a smile and seated right away. Ice Water was promptly sat in front of us by a handsome young man(and not a moment to soon, it was at least 95° today). Our server, Andrea, greeted us with a smile and her warm personality. I LOVED the Deviled Eggs and the Chips and Salsa. The house made chips were light, crisp, and salted. The black-bean salsa was some of the best I have had. I chose the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Fries and my daughter had the Cleveland-Heath Double Burger with Fries. We also ordered a side of Macaroni and Cheese to share(it said on the menu it is for sharing). The sandwiches were absolutely Amazing: Flavorful, great toppings. Those Fries really stand on their own. First you think, «Is someone from Steak n’ Shake back there trying to get fancy?» Then you taste them and realize you are now about to pass out from the awesome taste of sweet and regular potatoes. The Macaroni and Cheese(that obviously feeds four) was huge, creamy, and tasty. Out comes the warm Beignets and a tear fell with every amazing bite, dip into that chantilly crème, and amazing seasonal jam. #stlmetrofoodie

Every single dish I have tried at Cleveland-Heath has been a 5-star dish. I love the location in downtown Edwardsville. My only negative is that it is often crazy busy because the food is so good. Be prepared to wait for a table unless you arrive at non-peak hours. It’s hard to pick a favorite menu item because they are all so delicious. For apps my go-to items are the deviled eggs and the Japanese Pancake(Okonomiyaki). The Okonomiyaki is full of so much flavor; lately I’ve been ordering it as my meal. One of my favorite meals is the Gringos Tacos. I substitute rock shrimp for the chicken and pair with their mixed russet and sweet potato fries. It’s so much food that I eat half and save the leftovers for lunch the next day. When I want a lighter meal, I order ½ of the Chop Chop salad — so fresh and tasty. The only problem with this lighter approach is I sometimes rationalize getting dessert. The Old Fashioned Cherry Pie with madagascar vanilla ice cream is sweet comfort food at its finest. Cleveland-Heath offers the best gourmet comfort food in the Metro East and possibly in the entire St. Louis Metro area.

Did I eat at the same restaurant as everyone else? I drove 45 minutes for brunch that didn’t live up to its reputation. The Lomo Saltado was way too salty(Yes I know its in the name but this is still over the top salty), a pile of soggy fries mixed in with steak pieces(not strips like mentioned on the menu) with eggs on top. If a concept for a dish would involve potentially soggy fries, seriously just don’t do it. My companion’s biscuits and gravy had rock hard biscuits with hardly enough gravy to cover the entire surface area — not cool. The saving grace was the cherry pie(hmmm) and the side of sweet potato fries. Service was fine. Maybe we should have ordered off the regular menu but it was Saturday and they seemed to be really promoting their brunch. These brunch fares however were disappointing. I could name a handful of brunch places near me that do brunch better.
