Here on vacation and always looking for a good sandwich. Got the motherload cold 12″. Fast friendly service and as a bonus it was free cookie Wednesday.

I saw the cashier carry my sandwich with his bare hands to wrap it up with butcher paper. You could see the other sandwich makers with gloves on. I mean, this guy handles money and I seriously doubt he washed his hands. So grossed out, I won’t be back.

These guys make killer sandwiches! I eat a ton of sandwiches, and the pesto peak italiano is one of my all time favorites. The meat is good, the toppings are good, the bread is unbelievable, and all of it together is greater than the sum of its parts. This is the best deli in the valley by far and getting that italian sandwich never fails to be the highlight of my day.

This place was once great, has gone down the tubes. They overhauled the menu completely and it just went from being the best place to your run of the mill chain fast food place. Can’t really understand the thinking of redoing a whole menu when the place is normally busy.

Came here tonight, the girl who took our order was rude– we came because on Tuesdays kids eat free so I brought my niece and mother. we were discussing how nice it was that kids meals were free, the rude girl took our order and when we looked at our receipt we asked why we were charged for the kids meal, and she said it starts at 5… It was 4:45, which is fine, we wouldn’t have minded waiting– but the fact that she heard us talking about the kids eat free and never said that doesn’t start yet is what made us so mad. After we heard her talking to everyone about it in the kitchen, didn’t apologize or try to fix the situation, just decided to make fun of us. I work in a restaurant and customer service is very important to me– clearly that’s not the case here. While we sat and ate our food the rude girl was wrestling around with a guy and laughing and being loud, pretty annoying when you are trying to enjoy dinner with your family. As for my food, I ordered the Cobb, it was ok– they went pretty skimpy on the toppings, the salad had brown spots and my moms salad was wilted– we weren’t very impressed from the beginning to the end when we walked out and the people who worked there made eye contact with us and didn’t even say bye or thanks for coming in-doubt I will be back.

They have good vegetarian options and I always go back for their green thumb sandwich, it’s this beautifully gooey artichoke thing that I can’t help but finish. Staff is friendly and the place always looks clean. Their menu is great, something for everyone!

Get a mighty Mo! For a chain this place is a good place for a quick lunch! And pretty consistent in what you get.

Yum the Parisian, Harvest salad, mighty mo, chicken enchilada soup, all favorites. Wish they would open again in Eagle. The Moose is our office go to and fav. Great service from nice people.

Great sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Taste and quality is there. Try the mighty-mo or the mo-rito on a red chile tortilla. The girls that work the counter are pretty cute too. Solid option for lunch in Edwards!

They used to be a favorite. They had consistently good food and super fast, friendly service. Lately, sadly, things have been slipping: long waits & lukewarm food(one of the first rules of service is to assist the guest in front of you before the customer on the phone or working on your mammoth to-go order, but Smiling Moose must have skipped class that day), dirty tables(every single one?)!, empty condiment bottles… surly service(including the manager). This is not NYC; I don’t need a side of attitude with my lunch. ***If it is too difficult to be busy AND civil to your clientele and you would prefer to be strictly catering only, Smiling Moose, all you need to do is lock your doors and wait for your phone to ring. Your hungry guests don’t need nor deserve to be treated poorly by your(clearly) underpaid staff.***

Edit– after a cooldown period, I would like to state the review below only applies to the online ordering experience. The sandwiches here are actually the bomb. Don’t believe the online/app hype. The primary advertised virtue of ordering online is that your shit is ready when they say it will be, getting you around the crazy lunchtime lines. I ordered 2 sandwiches via the web at 1:00 p.m. According to the site, my sandwiches would be ready at 1:15. When I arrived at 1:15, not only was my order not ready, it had not even begun the fabrication process. Additionally, these 2 basic bitches in front of the register when I walked in were ordering off a sheet of paper with a good 8 items on it; my order ended up behind this huge order in the queue. I finally got my sandwiches 15 minutes after they were supposed to be ready, a full 30 minutes after I ordered them, and guess what? Both sandwiches were MADEWRONG. Granted, it isn’t the end of the world for me to pick off some tomatoes, but after getting fucked on the online order, and standing there like a fool with my dick in my hand for 15 fucking minutes, is it too much to expect that I receive what I actually ordered? I am normally very positive on Smiling Moose, I eat here a good 20 times a year and generally like the food; but this experience was disappointing enough that I will be taking my business elsewhere in future.

I’m giving this place a «middle of the road review». The only thing keeping me from giving it a single star is that the food was tasty and the male cook was friendly. The girl behind the counter had absolutely NO personality and spoke so quietly I could barely hear her. She never greeted us or smiled, and acted like she was incredibly inconvenienced when I asked her for a to-go box. She was just standing at the register with a completely blank look on her face, and all she had to do was turn around and grab a few sheets of foil. My other complaint is that the entire restaurant was FILTHY. And I do mean all of it. The floors were unswept, with food and crumbs everywhere. The chairs were all covered in crumbs and not one single table looked like it had been wiped down all day. The men’s bathroom was absolutely putrid with an unswept and unmopped floor, dirty sink and toilet and several flies. There was a pile of kitchen floor mats in front of the restroom door and a dustpan laying out where someone could step on it. It wasn’t until I had already sat down that I noticed the condition of the restaurant, cause had I noticed it prior to ordering, I most likely would have gone elsewhere.

Smiling Moose is consistently amazing. It is super busy, so plan on waiting a bit for your food during lunch hours. Either way, it is ALWAYS worth the wait. They have great unique sandwiches and their ½ sandwich and salad or soup lunch option is fantastic. Considering how busy they are, its hard to understand how they keep the restaurant so clean. I generally order the Bayou which is a hot sandwich melting with gooey cheese, buffalo sauce, avocado and tender grilled chicken. It is AMAZING. My only complaint, and this really pales in comparison to all the positives, is that the employees, on more than one occasion, have made me feel rushed at the counter. I realize they are extremely busy, but I am still the customer and feel it is an important aspect of good business to make your customers feel at ease rather then stressed when you take a few extra seconds to decide if you want a fountain drink or a bottled drink. Despite the occasionally impatient staff, I LOVEEEE smiling moose deli.

Let me first start off by saying that I absolutely used to love this place and came frequently, around three times a week. I came in one day in the morning and got a breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, cheese etc. and didn’t eat anything else that day. Later that night I got SEVERE food poisoning and was sicker than I’ve ever been for the next three days. I’m not sure if the sausage was bad or it was left out too long, but because of this, I just can’t go back. I really urge everyone to double check that their food hasn’t been left out in order to prevent this.

Decent and large breakfast sandwiches(toasted but still soft plain or everything bagel, scrambled egg, cheese, bacon/sausage/ham) for $ 3.99 and a few varieties of breakfast burritos for $ 4.99. I had the ham bagel sandwich based on a recommendation from our server and the ham was seared first — nice touch. Also appreciated the bottles of Tapatio on each table! We stayed at a hotel nearby and this deli provided a cheap bite on the way to the ski slopes.

Those of us who remember when the first Smiling Moose opened in Eagle may be surprised to learn that the Moose didn’t simply move to Edwards — it has also expanded across Colorado and beyond. And rightly so. With its tasty, fairly priced breakfast and lunch offerings, the Smiling Moose has racked up quite a local following. In the middle of Downtown Edwards, the Smiling Moose invites comparison to other quick-stop eateries. Personally, I think the«Mighty Mo» cheeseburger sandwich seems like good competition for the nearby Larkburger, while the Ruben falls a bit short of the nearby Belmont Deli’s similar items(though it is a bit bigger). Pro Tip: If you are rotating through the local sandwich shops on a day-by-day basis, pick the Smiling Moose on Wednesdays to get a free cookie with your order!
