Trinity Pines Retreat and Conference Center

DO NOT STAY HERE! The owner is very difficult to work with and will keep your deposit no matter what. The grounds keeper was super friendly, but that didn’t do us much good. We rented several of the houses for a conference here in summer 2015. Right off the bat, it seemed nice; however, many things soon went wrong. First, the AC wasn’t working in the main house where we were holding our meetings for the conference and where many people were sleeping. The grounds keeper was super friendly and attentive. She came and «fixed» it, but it only worked well momentarily. The rest of the week it was hardly cooling the place down. The fridge and freezer stopped working in the main house also where we kept all of our food (good thing we realized it, otherwise our food would’ve spoiled). We tried to be good guests and wash the dish towels we soiled; however, the washer wouldn’t drain after many, many tries. None of these issues were our fault, but were due to faulty, ancient appliances. Still, we tried to keep a good attitude and «make the most of it.» After all, the show must go on. Upon departing the grounds, everyone cleaned each house we occupied very well and left everything as we found it upon arrival. We even had a few people walk through each house afterwards to double check. To our surprise, the owner claimed half of our deposit. We asked her for her reasoning. She could not give us much explanation other than a few plates that were left by the pool, which we tried to explain were not ours. If anything, we should have not only received our full deposit back but also a discount for all the trouble we experienced. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. I repeat, DO NOT stay here.
