Ombu Salon + Spa

I moved to Shoreline to my bf’s house and decided to try new spa in Edmonds after reading all the reviews. I had 1 hr massage and it was very good. You get a cute massage room in the end of the spa, very nice ambiance, music etc. The spa is located in a cute Edmonds downtown location, there is a designated parking — that is the same priority for me as good spa service. No parking or walking back 15 mins after relaxing session can diminish entire experience. :)
In addition, I sent them email prior to my appt asking about the parking and they responded almost right away. That tells me they check their emails and actually respond. I also got email after the appt about my experience. I tried spas in various cities all over the world including Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, etc in best hotels and I have to say these guys do a great job, its a cute boutique spa with great service. I am coming back :)

Everyone was very nice. I had a facial and massage. Both people were very knowledgeable about what they were doing. The product line they used, and also sell, has been around for a long time and is all plant based. They were on time and did not skimp on your time with your treatment, something I’ve not experienced with other places. It impressed me they did not used up your time. I will be going back.

I’ve walked by Ombu many times and was considering going there for a cut. However, I looked at their website and noticed that they have different pricing for men’s and women’s cuts. When I called to ask why, the receptionist explained that men’s hair and women’s hair are «different» and that men’s cuts, being shorter, typically take ½ hour and women’s typically take 45 minute to 1 hour. Really? I thought that kind of sexist pricing went out in the 70s. I definitely won’t be booking there.

Well I decided to treat myself… so I googled online and found this place.
I go there for facial and I always have an great time! My esthetician is Laura and she does an amazing job. She is friendly, and full of knowledge and I always enjoying talking to her or asking problems with my face.
The product they use can be pricey… but I think they are worth it. I can definitely can see a change on my skin!
I also went there for massage and I had Tina for my massage therapist. My back was hurting a lot from sitting so long at work so I had to do something about it. Tina did an amazing job! I don’t have a back pain anymore! She also told me how my back pain was affecting other areas of my body and told me some stretches I should do to avoid back pain for the future.

I have been going to Ombu for years and just love them. The people, the atmosphere and the products. I have had my hair colored by other salons around Edmonds and the color I get at Ombu is amazing. My hair is always so soft afterwards and the color is rich and does not fade. I’ve had some small struggles lately as I transition to an edgy short hair cut but we are getting there :-). The ladies are ALWAYS willing to please and really know their stuff. I really appreciate and rely on their expertise. Elyssa usually does my hair and she is so much fun, Nadina is my esthetician – both are wonderful. I would absolutely recommend visiting Ombu.

Love the place. Being a guy I use multiple stylists and have had my hair cut from Lendy, Elyssa, and Stephanie with great success. It is easy to book appointments using the app online. The place is clean, warm and has great overall ambiance. They are a downtown Edmonds business that supports the community and they have free parking.

You can trash talk all my family members all you want but you can not put down my haircut!
From the moment you walk in, till you leave, they treat you and you feel like you’re in Four Seasons hotel. Not to mention well trained stylists! you have anything to do with hair in Edmonds? This is your place!

Stephanie is great! Giving a 48 year old a haircut that is maybe not technically age-​appropriate but is awesome– looking younger! Surprising how calm a weekday morning is as opposed to the bustle (but still «on time») on Saturdays. Make a weekday morning appt. and enjoy!

I have now come here for three cuts and a color, and brought my kids for cuts as well. The staff is very friendly and professional, and I have been completely happy with each and every service. Haven’t had any skin care yet, but received a ton of helpful info from Nadina on my last visit, and am definitely planning on going back for some esthetics! Ombu is a perfect example of a local business who walks the walk – high quality products and people, and a commitment to their community as well.

This place is wonderful!!! Everyone is so friendly and always put me at ease as soon as I arrived. Laura does great job for my face, my skin looks and feel amazing. As for Elyssa, she even came to my house in Lake Stevens to fix my hair and make up for the wedding and then follow me to the venue to make sure that my face looks perfect the entire event!!! I’ve been going here for the last four years and planning to continue as long as I can. Great job team Ombu!

Oh my what a wonderful salon! This was my first time coming here and you can count on my return. I had an amazing deep tissue massage by Tina. She was absolutely wonderful and her massage was incredible! The ambiance of the room was perfect with the candles and beautiful décor. Thank you SO much Tina! I will no doubt come and see you again!
The salon itself is beautiful. It is perfectly clean, and everyone working there Saturday morning was very friendly and extremely nice.
I also LOVE the fact that all of their products are organic and aren’t tested on animals! This is also a major decision that will always keep me coming back!

I have lived in Edmonds forever and I’ve walked past Ombu so many times. I finally decided to make an appointment and I am glad I did. My hair has never looked better. Ellie did an amazing job with the cut and Ombré color. The cut is perfect and the color is to die for. My hair has been colored off and on for the past 23 years by various salons and I have to say this is the first time I have been 100% happy with the color.
Heather at the front desk was so kind and friendly, and the owner, Beth, was also kind and welcoming. There was a very peaceful vibe in the salon and I’m looking forward to my next appointment!

This was my first facial and I wasn’t sure what to expect exactly. Front desk staff was friendly. Environment was relaxing and calm throughout entire building. Thank you Laura for all the great tips to maintain my skin type. I will definitely be returning for this chance to unwind while my skin comes alive!

I love Ombu! Elyssa Boyd did a color and cut for me and it was great! She had some great ideas of which color to use and they type of cut that would look best on me. Highly recommend to anyone!

Leah is basically the only one I’ve seen for my hair for 12 years now! I followed her to Ombu from her previous salon and I’d follow her again if I had to. She’s THAT GOOD! I’ve gotten many compliments on both my color and cut over the years. She always makes me feel very comfortable as she’s an amazing conversationalist with lots of funny and interesting stories too. Often I leave in a much better mood than when I went in. Thanks Leah!

I love Ombu! I drive all the way to the east-​side from North Seattle, that is how good they are! Ask for Michelle, I’ve had her cut my hair for almost two years now and she is great.

I’ve had two haircuts here and they’ve both been great. Definitely going back!

This place is FANTASTIC! I booked the sampler package for myself and a friend and a mani/​pedi for a second friend. I picked this place after stopping in and chatting with Nadina. She is sooo helpful and sooo sweet – the perfect person to meet at a new place.
The three of us were all VERY pleased. Neesha gave us facials and Emily gave us massages; both these ladies are incredibly talented and have hands from heaven.
The package also included a hairstyle and my friend added on a cut. Sarah not only made us look fabulous, she also has a wonderful personality and really seems to enjoy what she’s doing. It’s great to be able to chat and laugh it up while you’re getting pretty.
Carla did our nails (I hear she is also a great hair stylist!). I’m used to going to the typical nail salon where they get you in and out as quickly as possible, slopping polish across your toes. It was lovely to get a nice soak and massage and an expert paint job. And, just like Sarah, Carla is an absolute delight: personable and funny and great to talk to.
Ombu is a great salon and spa: good location and layout, nice products, but what really sold me on the place were the employees. After spending several hours with them, I felt like I had new BFFs. We had a wonderful day and I would go back in a heartbeat.

This review is not for the stylist herself (she was great) but for the front desk operators.
When I called to inquire about making a haircut appointment I was quoted a price that I thought was a little high but she informed me that my stylist was a «master stylist». So I went ahead and made my appointment.
Great stylist, great cut, but when I went to go pay the receptionist charged me TWENTY dollars MORE than she quoted me over the phone! I told her my frustations with the pricing and she said the best she could do was offer me a «small» discount (not nearly enough to cover the twenty dollar gap).
Very unprofessional! Know your role and the right prices or find a new job.
I will not be back.

Disappointed. Came in with a picture of a haircut I liked. Stylist took one look and gave me a basic inverted bob. I had to ask for some layers, which she added in random places around my head. Not the worst haircut ever, but came away with a STRONG impression stylist did not know anything beyond the basics. Also, left side of hair is a little bit longer than the right.
Sigh.
