Miyako’s has CLOSED as of 8÷20÷2013. The sign in the windo says it is a permanent closure and another restaurant in already scheduled to open in that space. :(

This place is owned by Koreans, but I guess most of these joints are. I ordered shrimp tempura with California roll. My bf got chicken teriyaki with gyoza. The tempura was way over battered but the California roll had a very generous amount of avocado in it. BF’s chicken was perfectly cooked. They offer free soup for customers dining in, but it was this really odd, neon orange egg drop soup that was more pepper than anything.

With teriyaki places on nearly every corner, it’s hard to know which one is really worth the stop. We normally go to another teriyaki place close to our house but since it’s closed on Sunday’s we had to venture out to find another nearby place. We randomly picked Miyako’s and pulled in for a bite. We ordered the Chicken Teriyaki & Mongolian Beef combo w/egg roll. The chicken was tender, the teriyaki sauce was light and not too sweet or heavy. The Mongolian beef was flavorful, tender but only moderately spicy. The egg roll was crisp and tender. Not greasy or soggy. Service was fast and friendly. The small, casual little restaurant was clean and inviting. While it was plenty to eat for myself, it was very small portioned for my husband. We’ll come again if we find ourselves hungry for Mongolian Beef or a Bento box etc on a Sunday… but probably go to our regular place(Teriyaki Bowl) the rest of the time.

I ate at Miyako’s Teriyaki & Wok for the first time last night. I ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki, which had a good spice to it but wasn’t particularly spicy for me. The service was friendly and prompt. The parking was easy last night but when I first tried to go here last Sunday I couldn’t find even one parking spot(popular mini-strip mall, I guess). There seems to be a thriving bubble tea place on the end of the strip mall. This place has very good service, Sriracha for making things spicier, free soup that tasted good, complimentary tea and water(no ice). I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back. I was the only person there last night around 7 p.m. but I was happy the food was good.

(five stars for food, friendliness and service but please note, it’s not a «five star dining experience» it’s a casual spot in a strip mall) My wife and I stopped in Miyako’s on our way to visit my family. I had the house special fried rice; a huge serving I couldn’t finish with lots of chicken, beef, shrimp and general yumminess. the left-overs were perfect for breakfast with a couple of eggs scrambled in! My wife had the udon soup with tempura… a perfect bowl of comfort on a very rainy day. Free tea and peppery egg flower soup warmed us up while we barely waited at all for our food. We’ll DEFINITELY be back on future trips to family!!!

This is a very solid little yaki joint in a nice-enough strip mall along 99, heading out of Shoreline and into Edmonds. The service is super nice, and the prices are in line with what you’d expect to pay. The parking here is just good enough, and the interior is clean. There’s the usual Sobe cooler, and the fountain drinks line up behind it. They have the pot of free soup for the day, served in coffee mugs, and they also offer some sushi. The yaki menu is a couple dozen items; not the least varied but not the most extensive either. The chicken breast with extra spice has a decent kick of heat and the meat’s fresh and juicy enough. They offer steamed veg and brown rice options. Bottom line, this is a place that manages to stick to the basics and still cover all the bases. Not bad.

Probably the best teriyaki place in Edmonds. Tucked away in a strip mall and easy to miss — I must have driven past it a hundred times before noticing it – but worth hunting for. The chicken is tender, not burnt, salad’s good, and they’re generous with the rice. Big portions, reasonable prices, and never crowded. The same woman seems to always be there when I go, I assume she’s the owner. Worth stopping in! This is a regular haunt for us. [Update: they closed this place! I am so sad. If you are the owner thank you for the excellent teriyaki.]

I was very impressed with almost everything here. A friend brought us here for dinner, all got big plates, and cost was only 23 bucks. My chicken Teriyaki plate was overflowing with a whole bunch of chicken, an awesome fresh salad and what I believe to be mountain of sticky sushi rice. GF got the chicken /beef combo and her plate was overflowing as well. I didn’t care for the free egg flower soup, not the normal taste I’m use to, the Teriyaki beef was thin cut and just not what I’m use to. I can recommend this place highly for their chicken Teriyaki and a big plus… OPENONSUNDAY!!!

I have to disagree with those that disagree with the positive reviews for this place… I am entirely indebted to this place as it serves teriyaki on Sunday(this is harder than I thought it would be as it seems this area is dry with Teriyaki Sabbath). On this(our first) visit, my GF and I both ordered Chicken Teriyaki(hers was the regular and I treated myself to the Spicy Teriyaki). The nice lady working the front offered us the Egg Flower Soup while we waited. The soup was a good warm up on the rainy day and appreciated. The main course was brought — This chicken was well cooked /moist and the rice was delicious. My only complaint was that the teriyaki sauce(on the side) was cold and a little liquidy for my tastes but that didn’t stop me from eating the entirety of my meal(My GF pulled me away from the table before I actually consumed the fine china the food was served on). Enjoy. As for me and my crew Miyako’s is my Sunday Chicken Lover.

Have to disagree w/other reviewers. This place totally forgettable. Chicken katsu bland. Chicken teriyaki average. Broccoli beef pretty good, but a bit pricey for what you get. Also, we came as a family of three and they brought our food out one plate at a time about 5 minutes apart. Not cool for a family on the go. Gent at the front courteous enough. Keep driving.

Always saw this place and referred to it as ‘that teriyaki place with the crazy flashing signs’ — from now on I’ll be referring to it as ‘the best teriyaki place I’ve been to.’ My wife got a combo shrimp tempura and chicken teriyaki and I got a pork bento which included a salad, pork teriyaki, 4pc Caslifornia roll, 2pc shrimp tempura and rice. It was excellent — the tempura was succulent — so gentle and enjoyable. Will return soon!!!

My wife and I just went there because of the four star rating. We both like teriyaki. She ordered the pork yakisoba. I ordered the beef and broccoli spicy style. This is a walk up to the counter order your food and sit down place. What was good? First of all we walked in at five thirty and no one was in there… that was nice. The japanese lady behind the counter was very nice. We ordered drinks out of the side cooler, but we did not need to because there was an industrial sized pot of tea next to the free egg drop soup pot. I tried the soup and thought it was good, but my wife thought that it was kind of like the bottom of the pan of a roasted chicken. Thick but I don’t think fatty just concentrated a bit. When our order came it looked like the plates were the size of a medium pizza pan. We also had the tempura shrimp appetizer. That was six crispy delicious shrimp long with a great dipping sauce. Not greasy at all and was only six fifty. They also gave us a punch card buy Ten dishes get five bucks off. What I also liked about this place is the extensive menu… you can get a fairly decent choice of sushi and bento combos. I loved the broccoli beef. Beef was tender and well marinated. crisp broccoli. My wife loved the pork yakisoba. We both took about half of it home and will make a great lunch. I will be back. By the way if you like California rolls you can get 10 rolls for 45.00 on a party platter. Thought that was a good deal, but I have not tried the sushi yet, but plan on trying it next time. Overall great food, clean surroundings, good service… excellent prices. Thanks Unilocalers you were spot on about this place.

sometimes — even though you know better than to order chinese food at a teriyaki joint owned by koreans… but cravings are cravings. and that day i craved chicken fried rice extra spicy. what i was served? fried rice indeed — spicy? not so much… and the chicken was just teriyaki chicken breast cut up in small pieces mixed in with the rice. for 8 bucks the portion was huge which makes this place okay for me — other places can get rather skimpy on their portions. sadly — i didn’t give this place more stars as it didn’t fulfill my craving for chicken fried rice as it was rice with teryiaki chicken! and i love spice! and it wasn’t in the least bit spicy for me. perhaps i’ll come back and try a teriyaki dish and re-write a review. but today… 3 stars.

Arguably the best Teriyaki joint in Edmonds. Service is nice and friendly and the food is just AWESOME! I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken w/rice(number 1 on their menu) and it was delicious. The meat is cooked to perfection and the salad is fresh. And it comes with FREE soup.

This is my favorite teriyaki place. The staff and owners are always extremely friend and helpful. Whether we eat in or eat out the experience is always pleasant. I love that there is complimentary soup if you dine in and I have never had a plate of food from there that I have been unhappy with. We eat teriyaki once a month or every other month and it is always as good as I remembered it. The servings are extremely generous!

Favorite local little teriyaki joint. The owners are always smiling and recognized us by just our second visit. Mike N.‘s review about the little extra food and free soup is spot on. The tempura shrimp is never overcooked and the tempura is light and yet leaning slightly towards greasy, sounds iffy but is actually addictive if you eat them while still hot(as you should.) Teriyaki chicken is moist, sweet, and just seasoned enough. The side salad is just iceberg with some shredded carrots and cabbage but the dressing is delicate and delicious. My favorite is definitely the full juicy lightly browned gyoza done just right, not too gummy, not too hard. After moving here and trying just about every teriyaki fast food in the area, Miyako’s quickly became my fall back grab night choice.

Before I even received my order I fell in love with the darling little woman behind the counter… she couldn’t have been nicer. So sweet… I would have come back just for her. Meanwhile, can I tell you they do some serious Teriyaki and outstanding Chinese/Asian style stir frys… the beef broccoli get’s two thumbs up!
