Sales promises discipline, one on one training to learn moves, and brags about the world class coaches. Reality is that this is a so-so MMA training facility. The attention paid to proper form is negligible, and therefore moves are really not learned as well as they should be. Discipline? Well, no, not so much, and without discipline, moves shown(vs taught) are sloppy. If your child has any other activities on the once a month test day, well, too bad. There is no alternate test day offered-so if your child has a mandatory(graded) school function, you wait to test. Their excuse? ‘Your child isn’t performing to a high enough standard to make us want to inconvenience ourselves-but they aren’t the only ones’. I am here watching my child every lesson. My child is doing everything being taught-and no one is making corrections to form, and NOW you want to blame the child??? Add to this, that it is a 12 month contract, 147.00/month for unlimited classes-but ‘unlimited’ classes are limited to the age group times/dates offered. Jui jitsu classes are part of the contract, BUT… the gi is 95.00-and mandatory that you buy THEIR gear at THEIR prices. Quite the scam going on with gear. I bought off on the ‘professional instruction’, ‘discipline and good form taught’, and signed my child up, as they are good at building the training up-disappointment set in soon. I would advise anyone not to use this business, unless you are OK with lackadaisical ‘training’. Find somewhere you can go that will train your child. Once you are signed up here, there is NOINCENTIVE to properly train your child-they have you in contract. Not saying this is a bad place, it is not. The staff are friendly and very personable-but don’t expect a response to calls/texts/emails after you have signed the contract. Your child will have fun, will learn good defense moves and make friends. However, there are other places that will accomplish the same without locking you in a contract and forcing you to purchase their gear exclusively-at hugely inflated prices.

Sales gal tried to get my son excited about their«ways» by assessing him and«teaching» him basic kicks and punch moves in a «meeting». Then told me in front of my son how much he would benefit from training at the school and he needs something like this to help him cope with things at his age. That he needs to definately learn the Kali in our Filipino culture(I told her on the phone that’s why I wanted to see this school). Over the phone she promised me that I could peek into a beginners class, but when I was there she said she couldn’t allow me to do that. And made me feel bad because if my son was training there, they wouldn’t allow just«anyone(strangers)» they didn’t know watching their kids in training. I felt like she was hiding something from me! She took up 25 minutes«assessing my son»(pretty much getting him excited to join) then backed out of «showing us» a class in progress. Awful sales tactics — reminded me of a crooked used car sales person. She made me feel bad that I didn’t want to sign up without seeing a class, which she lied about over the phone. I felt WORSE that she steam rolled over me and did it in front of my son(who was excited at the thought of watching a class and for me to sign him up that day), I walked out of there never wanting to come back again!

My 16 year old daughter has been a student at Pride for over a year and the experience, relationships, strength, skill, and training she has received have been life changing! She’s more confident in her self and her ability to protect herself and she knows all of the coaches sincerely care about her as a person and that matters to her more than anything else. I LOVE Pride and would recommend it to anyone of any age who is looking for fitness, protection classes, or mixed martial arts!
