On The Border Edmond is very consistent. No matter when I have gone, the training of servers has been evident through the steps of service. Even with the construction at 33rd and Broadway, people were still in the dining room. I had the fish with mango salsa. ITWASBOMB! loved it. loved it. loved it. Hot chips, cold salsa every time.

Horrendous service. Mediocre food. Three other tables complaining of poor service. This would be understandable if they were shorthanded, but I see no evidence of that. Unimpressed. Two stars rather than one because they recognized their shortcomings and tried to make amends.

We LOVED it here! We had outstanding service!!! Our waitress name was Irma she was so sweet and polite and always checked on us made sure our water was filled and gave us free chips to go with our queso. Our food was delicious, we had the fajitas and our daughter had the chicken strips with Mexican rice, it was VERY good! Also ordered sopapillas they were the best sopapillas we’ve ever had! And my daughter had the brownie sundae and she said it was«really really delicious»! We will be coming back to this location.

I have said to myself many times that I will not come back, but then out if convenience only I stop to feed my family. The experience is always less than desirable. The thing that gets me the most is there is a surprise price increase or extra add on every time to my check. The only consistent positive is the beer.

My wife and I usually come here on Tuesday«taco Tuesday» since the tacos are $ 2 a piece and sides are 99 cents. Service is great as long as you beat the diner rush or go late. During rush time the service is normal as one can expect, never had a bad experience so that’s a plus. If you’re wanting good cheap Tex-mex tacos, I suggest taco Tuesday’s at On the Border!

Typical tex-mex commercial food. The soup I had once almost burnt the skin off the roof of my mouth lol aside that all of the 3 trips there were average. Chips and queso was okay. Their empanadas are pretty good, I prefer the chicken. Beef isn’t bad but its not that great either. Prices are average. 3 stars.

The server(Kevin) was right on. Great service. The fajitas were good. Everything was hot! I will go here again.

It was my first time at this restaurant. I tried the Mesquite-Grilled Steak fajita. It was not as good as Ted café’s or Mama Roja’s fajitas. They served chips and salsa BUT charged us about $ 3 for queso! I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charges for queso. Mexican restaurants usually serve chips with unlimited salsa an queso. I was not satisfied with their food and service at all!

This a staple diet for me. Haha. For whatever reason this location is convenient and I know that it will be no line to get a table and the food will be good. I sign up for frequent emails here and I get free queso coupons and for my birthday I got free coupons for that month as well. The best part is we usually get takeout and the chips are free and the salsa is free also so it is a bargain. The chips are about as good as you can get. The other best chips are chipotle and sprouts brand restaurant chips. I get the triple choice dinner with cheese enchilada, chicken enchilada and a tamale. The only thing about this place is the sometimes too talkative waiter and too busy for immediate service when you sit at the table. It is probably consistent with a Mexican chain restaurants though.

I don’t know what the food, salsa, or water tastes like. We were seated for 20 minutes and never got a server. To save the hostess from some of my hungrier comrades, I nicely told her about the problem. That got her up from flirting with some waiters in the bar area but when I sat down still no one came… so we left. It’s always a hassle to try to eat out on a Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma.

Typically this is one of our staples for lower cost and yet still very good Tex/Mex food. Good variety, good prices. Service is hit or miss. Usually not very crowded. Drinks are typically pretty good. I dig the street tacos personally, in particularly the Brisket Tacos. Today the service wasn’t that great but we will still go back. I really should emphasize the lack of a big crowd here typically, which isn’t indicative of the quality of the place, but instead should be viewed as an opportunity to go in and get a seat very quickly almost any time of day. If you are in Edmond and want a clean, friendly, lower priced Tex/Mex restaurant, then you really should stop by On The Border. You’ll thank me that you didn’t have to wait an hour for a table.

This was my first time at this restaurant and it was amazing! They seat you down to some fresh homemade tortilla chips and salsa. They had a whole page of margaritas, I got the margarita skinny. I couldn’t make up my mind so I had a combo plate with a chicken taco, green chili chicken enchilada, and a salad with mango dressing. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. He one flaw is that I asked for no salt on the rim and it came with salt. Overall great experience and I’m coming back soon!

Seemed a little understaffed for Cinco de Mayo and no specials! Table was cleared, but had to asked to have the cheese sauce and salsa drips wiped off when we sat down. Had called ahead for seating info and told no need to have name on list. Had a short wait, but noticed several people who came in later had called ahead for seating, so I will regardless next time. Waitress was very nice. Had a bit of a wait for the food, but not horrible. Will likely go back. Miss the I240 location!

When you are in the mood for TexMex, this place always delivers a constant experience. They can be a bit understaffed at lunch so sometimes the service is slow. All in all, seems better than your average on the border.

Consistently pretty good food and good value for your money. I’m a big fan of the create your own combo. They’re also very generous with their chips for take-out orders. However, it is a chain and is subject to the same pitfalls as any other chain.
