Their philly sandwich is the best I have had. The peppers make it top notch. Service and price are very good. I never tried anything else because my mouth waters for the philly.

I am updating my review from 11/27/2015. My first experience here was not stellar, but my second was perfect. Fortunately, the owner acknowledged my first review and insisted I give it another try. I love it when businesses care about their customers and work hard to improve. It really says a lot about the customer service and quality of Hobby’s Hoagies. I am glad I gave it another try because the second time around, I had a more pleasant experience. The staff who helped on the phone was super sweet and awesome! The take out process was quick and painless. The staffs got our order perfectly(no pickles) and our sandwiches were loaded with meats! I am satisfied with the customer service and once again, it is always a wonderful experience to know that a business like Hobby’s Hoagies truly care about their customers.

When I moved from the east coast to OKC in 1996, I was so disappointed that there were no good pizza joints or sub shops. Everything was a chain restaurant! No one I talked to knew what a hoagie or calzone was. Someone told me All American Pizza was«NY style». I went and asked if they had«pie by the slice» and they said they didn’t serve«pie». I said, «Pizza pie??» They just stared at me. So I ordered a ‘small cheese pizza’. What I got was a little single serve pizza. A small cheese pie back east is 14″. I quickly learned that 14″ was large here. So disappointed. Then I found Hobby’s. Oh sweet Jesus! Real NY style pizza ~they have 18″ pies!!! Yummy meatball parm hoagie. Legit Italian hoagies and cheesesteaks with PROVOLONECHEESE! I do not eat American cheese and can’t stand when people try to pass off white American cheese as mozzarella or provolone. I can tell the difference and it will ruin a sandwich in a hurry and I’m not paying for that! They fly in the crushed peppers and cherry peppers from Delaware. The rolls are the best hoagie rolls this side of the Mississippi. I feel a little like I’m back in Jersey when I eat at Hobby’s. AND they have TastyKakes! I love Hobby’s. However…the kids that work there can be rude and slow and kinda dumb. I hate to say that, but I have to make myself talk s l o w or they just stare at me. There were no TastyKake Butterscotch Krimpets in the case. I asked if they had more TastyKakes. The girl stared at me and sad, «huh?». I said, «TastyKakes. Do. You. Have. Any. More?» Again she said, «HUH?» I looked at her co-worker and asked and she said, «Oh yeah, let me go get some.» I don’t talk fast or in a foreign language. Not sure what her deal was. I think the employees could definitely use a little training on the products, customer service skills and preparing the food. It’s losing that family touch.

Best hoagies in town. I have not had one thing there I didn’t like. Friendly staff too!

Preface; This review is specific to their Philly Cheesesteak It was«A-OK» I ordered their version of the classic Philly cheese steak and had them leave off the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and peppers that don’t belong on a cheesesteak. Since they call theirs a «hoagie» on the menu, I can’t argue. I just ask they leave it off. My immediate issues: They don’t have cheez-whiz The steak wasn’t super tasty and could have benefited by some seasoning The roll was too soft and got soggy far too quick At $ 10 for a 12″ sandwich, there was a huge void between value and cost. Most of my issues could actually be fixed if the owners took some time with the current staff. Step 1 — Be happy when customers come in and GREET them Step 2 — Teach the kids cooking the food how to season said food Step 3 — Buy a jar of cheez-whiz for customers wanting it Step 4 — Profit But don’t take my word for it, try it yourself!

Home of the best Reuben sandwich I have found in OKC or Tulsa. So delicious. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They actually use a decent amount of sauerkraut and dressing. Lots of corned beef that isn’t overly fatty, but still has lots of flavor. This Reuben is big! Always end up burning my tongue because I’m too impatient to wait for it to cool down. Mmmmmm. Yummy lemon squares too!

Absolutely the best pizza and sub sandwiches in OKC. I love the cheese steak, reminds me of home. This is a great neighborhood restaurant. The staff is very nice and polite.

Staff could not(or would not) honor the Groupon we puchased despite the fact it was valid. We ate there anyway as they had already started our order and we were hungry, under the pretense we could use the voucher on our next visit. Nope. Food was average to poor(bland pizza, boring sandwich with dry bread), we contacted Groupon and received a refund. Thanks for nothing!

I still swear they have the BEST cheese steak sandwiches in the state! I have been here 10 or more times and can’t think of a single criticism. Thank you for being the best…

Best meatball and Italian sub around. I’ve been going there for over 10 years and still keep coming back.

Best Cheese Steaks around(I won’t quibble about them not actually serving a «whiz without» Philly style) but the quality of the food and the softness of the hoagies is spot on. I personally dig the chicken philly with the diced hot cherry peppers. I haven’t branched out much on the menu because I can’t go here and not order a philly!

Philly was a little soggy and meat not very flavorful. It was good but Texadelphia does a better one in the city.

Did not have the best experience there. The staff was nice but their hair was not up in nets but rather sloppy ponytails and they used no gloves. It made me very uneasy about them preparing my food. I’ve also been there three times(carry out) and each time atleast one of my orders were incorrect(missing ingredients/extra ingredients). The food is decent though.

In the boundless search of OKC for a decent cheese steak, we have finally found a winner. My wife is from Philly and I have been there several times. I’ve had a pretty decent experience with authentic original cheese steaks from city of Philadelphia so I think I can qualify as a novice judge on the subject. With that being said, these cheese steaks are the best that you will get in the Greater OKC area that would be close to an authentic one. The bread is on point and more importantly the cheese and steak is as close as you will find here in Oklahoma. I thought that I was giving this place too much credit until I gave half of my cheese steak to my wife and she CONFIRMED the same thing that i thought. The wait is bit long at times but trust me ITISWORTHIT. They also have pretty good turkey sub as well. I really want to try more things on the menu but unfortunately I can’t get past the cheese steaks. TRYTHISPLACE! You will not be disappointed!

The cheesesteak here is amazing, and the employees always remember our order, even though we don’t make it here as much as we’d like to. I haven’t tried any of the other offerings because the cheesesteak is just that good! :)

First off, food is really good, but the 16 year olds running this joint in their pajamas and last nights makeup(literally) could be adjusted. They 9 times out of 10 get our very simple philly chicken and philly steak hoagies order wrong. The reason we go back, even when they don’t cook the onions and meat isn’t very hot, this food is still pretty dang good. I recommend checking your food before you leave if you get takeout so you get the right meat, or meal.

Very mediocre. I love the downtown location, but this one was lacking. The pizza was super greasy. I was really optimistic. The one downtown is awesome, so I figured this would be equally good. Not so. :(

One of the best philly’s ever… this is one of my favorite Edmond stops. It’s a cute little spot to grab a meal or meet a friend. I love extra cherry tomato peppers on mine. Delicious!

Hobby’s makes a pretty good meatball sub, I would recommend it with extra cheese and ask them to go light on the sauce. My first subs(after a couple visits) were somewhat on the saucy side. Some prefer it that way, I do not. The do have a number of other sandwiches on their menu which I have yet to try and a deli counter with numberous case displayed items for purchase, including some pretty good italian desserts. Try the chocolate covered cannoli.
