Flying J Travel Plaza

I come here a lot on my way to or from Tulsa. It’s in a great spot on the interstate and in between turnpikes. This location tends to feel more safe than the other truck stops. It’s well lit and seems to not have some of the drama the others seem to get.
They’re so unhealthy but I have an affinity for the deep fried beef and bean burritos they have in the hot box near the registers.

There’s no reason to go into a lot of detail, but I had a really bad experience here. The pump I pulled up to in the RV lanes wasn’t working properly and, at 55 feet, It’s not like I could just swing up to another. The cashier inside could not have been less helpful. She treated me like an idiot who had never worked a gas pump before and, after spending 150 bucks on diesel, she wouldn’t even say «thank you». Next time I’m in Edmond, there’s a Love’s right across the street.

Stopped in first thing in the Morning about 7am, I figured the breakfast sandwiches would be fresh and good.
Got a sausage egg and cheese muffin, the sausage was the worst tast (99% Salt) I had in my life. The cheese was all dried out along the edges like it had been there for the last day or two.
I guess that’s why was so salty, to preserve the meat so not to go rotten over the corse of Several days?
I took 2 bites of it and threw the rest away, for the next three hours I had a bellyache.
If that wasn’t bad enough, by the time the coffee was cool enough to taste I found that it was burnt.
I’ve traveled all over the US and always enjoyed flying J Truck stops, but this one the food quality is completely unacceptable.

I like this place much more than the Love’s location across the road. There seems to b less homeless peeps panhandling in their lot and Sonic is right there for a frozen drink or a burger before I hit the turnpike. Bathrooms are usually cleaner than Love’s also.

Always nice employees here. Their parking isnt too difficult to negotiate. Theres a Huddle House inside and Cracker Barrell next door.
