This traditional NJ diner is certainly not winning any awards based on décor, and lacks curb appeal. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly. However, the food came out right, and was very good quality, isn’t that all that really matters?!

I love this place for one reason, their cheesecake! I often pick up one or two during the holidays and they are always a hit. Best I’ve ever had, the plain with strawberries is my favorite.

First time at this diner since our company moved close by. Slow wait staff while he finished chatting with the other wait staff. Otherwise he was nice. Now to the food. When reviewing the menu for the first time, the first thing noticed is how much more expensive every item is compared to other diners and restaurants. So I tried a Greek combo lunch special. Can’t go wrong with Greek food at a diner, right? Well it came with soup which was good, but the standard moussaka and pastitsio had an inch and a half of bechamal sauce on top and a quarter inch of actual filling. On to the spinach pie which had the phyllo pastry dough topping completely stale and saturated with oil. Obviously, left over for a while. The waiter gave me the bill at the wrong price. He did correct. The owner who collected my payment didn’t even ask how was everything. $ 11.95 for a bad overpriced stale lunch in Fords, NJ doesn’t work for me nor anyone else. Never again.

The food is always good. Portions are large. You won’t leave hungry!!! Tonight I had chicken pot pie with a cup of soup and a salad, too, for $ 10.95. I could only eat half of the chicken pot pie, but I am looking forward to the rest for lunch tomorrow!

Came here around 12:30am. We were seated and then waited about 15 minutes for the waitress to come back for our drink order. About 15 minutes after that she finally took our food order. After taking one order from the four of us, because the other three of us didn’t decide fast enough, she got all bitchy and said she’d have to go help someone else. So, I ordered the roasted turkey meal and when it was served to me, I swear the gravy was glowing. It was served in a most unappetizing way as well. Who would actually want to eat this? My husband ordered toast with peanut butter and they«couldn’t find the peanut butter anywhere.» Our friend ordered a burger and it was practically raw in the middle. Do not recommend this place to anyone, ever! The service is horrible and the food is even worse.

This place should be banned from calling itself a «diner». The food had no taste and it was barely edible. The burger I ordered looked like fell on the floor.(See pic) The soda was flat and the server was def not a people person. Never going here again.

I came here with friends a year ago after a baseball game and I remembered the food being pretty good so I came back a few weeks ago. My boyfriend and I were starving driving back from Atlantic City and it was the closest place I can recall being a decent diner. So we stopped by and definitely were not disappoint with the huge portion of the food. He ordered the chocolate chip pancakes which came with eggs. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. We devoured most of our meal and couldn’t be happier. The waiter was super friendly and he might have known we were starving as we kept looking at him to see if our order was ready. I can’t wait to go back to try the other food on the menu.

I was a little nervous walking into the diner at 8:30 on a Saturday morning and seeing the place almost empty. Order the food right as we sat down. I got the hungry man breakfast and my girlfriend got eggs and bacon and she asked for it all to be well-done, and more on the crispy side. After waiting 30 minutes or so we both received cold food. Both are bacon was crispy but could. Home fries, under cooked. Even the eggs where slightly warm at that… Only interesting thing about this diner was the ceiling. had a nice Stainglass pattern. –J

I’m not one to give bad reviews but I came in late one night in search of food I was hungry so I ordered a simple meal the waitress looked like she was sleeping but she was still polite I ordered eggs bacon hash and toast ate my food and while it was typical diner food it was okay… but here’s the kicker as soon as I get the check and place my money on the table a cockroach walks out from under the jam holder right across my placemat!!! Because of this I feel I needed to let people know!!! I wanted to throw up!!! I walked right out they will never get my business!!!

Spanish omelet isn’t what you think… ask first. My omelet came with wrong cheese. Place looks clean and nice. Seated and ordered quickly. Judy, our Waitress, was a doll, attentive and quick with our food!.. would try again maybe… one more shot.

It’s your quintessential 24⁄7 diner in Edison. The food is okay, I ordered a veggie burger, which was good, but I got a side of cole slaw that was really off putting. The service is friendly, and they have a pretty large menu. I would stop here again, but probably only at 3 am.

Best mistake ever!!! Driving from Baltimore to Newark and I thought I could go the whole trip without a break. Without going into too much detail, let’s just say that we could not get off the NJ Turnpike fast enough! First restaurant we saw and we were pulling in no matter what! After taking care of business, we could not decide if we wanted to eat here. It was early, 11ish, and it wasn’t really that busy. My colleague had perused the menu and nothing really jumped out at her. It was regular diner fare. I was standing next to the giant, enclosed, spinning cake display and I found a couple of items that I knew I was going to order even if we ate somewhere else. We decided that since we were there, we were going to bite the bullet and just eat there. So. Glad. We. Did. I could not decide what to order because everything sounded delicious. I settled on a club sandwich as I was thinking about ordering 2 different desserts to go. It came with a side dish of homemade coleslaw and 2 spears of pickles. The sandwich was huge. The turkey was roasted in-house and there were at least 5 slices of bacon! The fries were hot and plentiful. I really did not want to stop eating but knew I had to save room for dessert. My colleague saw Veal Francais on the menu and was surprised. She said that was her favorite dish but she could never find it on any menu. It was a huge order with FOUR pieces of veal, lots of lemony sauce and served over choice of pasta or rice. She chose the homemade vegetable soup as her lunch side and she could not stop raving about how delicious it was! The veggies were chunky and plentiful… nothing from a can here! Luckily she was generous enough to share her veal with me… Wow! So tender you could cut it with a fork and the sauce was delicious… dare I admit I was scraping my plate? How do you end a meal like this? With chocolate cake and lemon/coconut cake. We got the desserts to go, but could not resist tasting before walking out the door… MISTAKE…we almost couldn’t stop eating! I did not try the chocolate but you should have seen how sad she was when what was left of her cake had melted in the car. My slice, however, was not wasted!!! I don’t know if I loved the lemon curd or the generous coconut or the tender cake the most! Gosh, even while writing this, I wish I had another slice. Moral of the story is when you are in NJ, you should always stop at a diner. Minnesota may be home to 10,000 lakes but Jersey is home to 10,000 of the diners and you should stop at each one! ps…While I was heading out the door, I saw the Greek owner /fry cook and made a point to stop and tell him how everything we ate was delicious and the desserts were to die for!!! He was so touched that he gave me a little box of chocolate chip cookies that I happily shared with colleagues. pps…Road trip anyone???

We stopped in one afternoon and ordered scrambled eggs with toast and fruit instead of potato. Coffee and food was good, average fare, nothing great or nothing bad.

Eh. Have had better. Apart from the fact that it looks more like a restaurant on the inside than a diner, the food is pretty mediocre(eggs had shells in them) and the service just standard. I come here for the convenience if anything but not much else.

The place is big and 24⁄7 and that’s convenient. The prices are ehh, the juices more like the oj taste like a version of something that is pretending to be orange juice. there are many things wrong with this place, in my POV, but to be fair, diner food is typically disgusting and here is kind of the same deal. The worst food item I’ve had here was their«famous cheesecake» and their«famous deserts» it tasted like buttered sugared lard. It was horrendous, I was offended by the grossness in flavor and quality. I am not bashing this place but it’s «diner» crap food. Its a business, I get it and for the reasons stated above, I’ll never eat here again. But for those reading this, this place does beat any fast food joint giving the fact that its merely higher quality food. This gets two stars because their chicken cordon blue was really tasty.

Cheesecake is the only thing they have going for them. That’s what the 3 stars are for. My office is near this place and I have eaten there enough to know they don’t know how to make a club sandwich. If I ask for mayo, I want it in the sandwich not in some container on the side. It’s happened more than once and if you order take out check your order before you leave. They’ll say they gave you utensils, ketchup, etc. However, when you get home or back in the office you will be missing something. Go get cheesecake and leave.

This review is for the CHEESECAKEONLY. What can you say when you feign over the many varieties of cheesecake. Oreo, Tiramisu, Original, and strawberry topped, to name a few of them. Wow, the smooth and balanced taste of the cheesecake will make you want to grab a second slice. Not to mention, I don’t have that bloated«a just ate a cow» feeling. Definitely recommend the cheesecake at this hidden gem of a diner.

DONOTEATHERE! There are so many other diners in NJ just go someplace else. The place is dark and very tightly packed. Also, I was seated in a booth seat with a gaping hole! First of all, the service was horrible! We sat down. Got our menus. Chatted. There were people seated next to us 10 minutes later. They meet their waitress and get their drinks. We are still waiting. Finally, after asking for a waitress, we get her. She just takes our drink orders without letting us order. Comes back after 5 mins with our drinks. We order. We get our soup, salad and appetizers after another 5 mins. After 15 minutes, we finish our appetizers and she comes back to tell us that our order was not put in until now and she just found out that what we ordered is not available. All the while, the people next to us are putting on their coats and leaving because they finished their dinner! We decided to leave, but not before we had to pay $ 19.68 for our water, Gingerale, salad, bowl of soup and nasty stuffed mushrooms. No apologies given. The waitress just made a dumb joke. I’ve worked as a waitress and this is not how you handle your F up especially with hungry people. Wasted our time and money. Go to Skylark or Reo diner.

Came here each night while at a convention. Not sure of her name, but we had one waitress who was especially friendly and hard working. It is typical diner food with a quiet atmosphere. Overall satisfied
