Having tired of the usual diner places for Saturday lunch, we tried Home Town Buffet. It had a surprisingly good selection of meats, fish, veggies and salad makings. Service was good(plate removal), and the buffet items were freshly replenished. I found the baked fish excellent, as was the rotisserie chicken. They even had kielbasa/knockwurst, one of my personal faves. And for $ 8.49 a person, lunch was a bargain!

ROACHALERT!!! This place looks nice and has good food but make no mistake, roaches make even the best places disgusting. Me and my girlfriend where sitting by one of the windows in a booth eating. The next thing we know, there from out of the corner of our eye comes mister cockroach!!! It was crawling fairly slowly across the window ledge next to me. My girlfriend and I where in such shock and disgust. We then called over one of the employees. She immediately squashed it in a napkin and walked off with it. She returned shortly afterwords and asked us if we wanted to speak to the manager. I said yes please. A couple minutes went by and no manager came. So I went to another employee and asked to see the manager once again. The first employee comes over to our table shortly after with some eat free coupons and says the manager apologizes. I say«how come the manager sends you over to apologize instead of her». I did not get a Straight answer. So she hands us the eat free cards and walks off saying she was so sorry, and I replied saying«it’s not your fault, it’s the managers fault for keeping this place open with roaches. Me and my girlfriend shake our coats out very well and leave disgusted. As we are leaving, we see all these people going inside not knowing the truth about this place. I then decided to post this warning on Unilocal.Hopefully someone reads this and decides not to go there. Hopefully I spared someone from getting sick. Thank you for reading.

I’m a big fan of this place for a variety of reasons– location(close to me), affordable pricing, Senior discounts for my father, AND food trays are refilled quickly, so there isn’t a lot of wait time. There can be long lines, particularly on the weekends for dinner, but it moves fast. I’ve always liked their tacos and fixings, and fried chicken, mashed potatoes, steamed carrots. Sometimes they have hot dogs, sauces, mini burgers, and fat steak wedge fries, best with a ramicen of Ranch dressing. There’s salad bar, but the vegetables aren’t always the freshest, so beware of that. The desserts are kind of crappy, but sometimes I snag a cupcake or an ice cream cone. The breakfasts are good too, I always load up on thick hearty hash brown patties, sausages, eggs. Pancakes are thin and flat, not fluffy. I’ve rarely gone for dinner, but I don’t care for the meats in general, but my friend went there once and liked it.

The place is great. The food is always hot the prices are good and the wait staff quickly clears your table. The place is always crowded with buses from all over on Friday. Went there one Friday and a football team from Pennsylvania was having dinner. Other than that I highly recommend.
