I have been given check ups and prescribed contact lenses by the various doctors at Eye Works on route one in Edison N.J., most recently by Dr. Nitti. Dr. Nitti reviewed my history, listened to my concerns, asked questions about my bouts with migraines, then carefully checked my eye health and proceeded with the eye-chart examination. Dr. Nitti communicated what he was looking for and generally interacted informatively throughout the exam. He was personable, upbeat and generally positive and professional in his demeanor. Dr. Nitti’s associate was attentive and discreet during other routine tests.

The store itself is very good. They have a wide selection of glasses — they just need to learn people skills. I found all of the staff to be pretty rude. The eye doctor got annoyed with me because I flinched when he touched my eye — seriously? You ARE an eye doctor. People flinch. So I thought that was rude. You are also lucky if they look at you and make eye contact when you come in the door. The receptionist tried to talk to me without even looking up. I just stood there until she stopped what she was doing. You have no privacy as they do the tests out in the open, aside from where you read the letters. No one calls you to tell you your glasses are ready. There was maybe one friendly person and she helped me pick out glasses, but I could tell she just wanted me to leave so they could close — why have late hours if you are going to be all huffy-puffy about it. I will never go there again; I don’t care how nice their glasses look. Their attitude stinks!
