I love stopping here when I visit Edinburg. The place is outdoor eating or parking service. I love it the servers come to your car no getting down. The potato with meat if fantastic. A giant baked potato that is pureed seasoned and topped with your choice of meat, cheese sour cream etc. Their green salsa is pretty spicy but worth the burn. Its so freaking good. Their tacos are MX street tacos with your choice of meat, raw onion, cilantro and they come with grilled seasoned onions and borracho beans. The choice of drinks are only MX choice including MX coke(if togo they will put it in a cup) and a line of MX soft drinks. I asked if they had can and was told no. Overall this place is a great stop if you are in N. Edinburg off Monte Cristo.

First time here. I like that the tacos are single tortilla not double. The limes, cilantro and onions are nice and fresh. The baked potato was huge and they used a hand held BLENDER to Mix it in foil! Now the meat, it’s obvious they reheated it in oil but it wasnt terrible like taqueria el Zarape. Service was fine.

Was craving tacos and it’s like 1am and didn’t want to drive to 5 mile for Don Felipe. So tried out this place and I was surely satisfied. There meat selection wasn’t as wide like felipe, but it was tasty. I also liked they were not overly greasy. The baked potato were huge and good, but i like it being served natural versus it already mashed and mixed and placed back in. Overall will come back… oh and it’s cash only

This spot is just the bare necessities. But what delicious necessities they are. I’m not going to get all war and peace on you so here’s the skinny: – It’s damn hard to find in the dark. Be on the lookout for a red building with arches next to a salon. – It’s a refurbished garage so those doors are probably going to be open, regardless of the weather. We went on a freezing raining night and were glad of the blankets we had in the car. Same goes for the Sahara like heat. Be prepared to live on the edge. – No beer sold here… but they’ll let you pour one in a cup. So grab your clamato preparadas on the way. – It’s all cash and there’s no ATM. Get that while you’re getting the beer. – Take someone who speaks spanish with you or you’re going to be SOL. – The sincronizada is good, the chicken tacos are good, the beans are okay and the papa is the star of the show. Oh and the salsa will go nuclear apocalypse on your ass. Thankfully, the dishes didnt need it. – That papa is like the biggest twice baked potato you’ve ever had. The inside is blended potato with cream and butter and topped with more butter, cheese and bistek. It’s basically heaven in a foil jacket. Just get it. We had a joya, two bottles of water, half an order of chicken tacos, a papa, a sincronizada and our bill was $ 23. It’s well worth the drive from Mcallen and it reminds me of many a late night in Reynosa. Except without the potential for arrest or death.

The bf grew up eating here as said that whenever I go down to the valley I must eat here! We were a little sad that when we got here it was closed. FYI closed Tuesdays. But on our way back home we stopped here and god it togo. This place i pretty nifty, you can eat there, in your car, or wait in your car for your togo. They come to your car to take your order. The tacos were good but nothing out of the ordinary to me. The papas(potatoes) according to the bf will change my life! Well it did because you can find anything like that in Houston. The potato like Lauren B. said has the same concept of a baked potato but they mash the goods all up in the potato for you. It honestly tastes better than it’s described. The potato is really really big! We put all our food in the cooler and after 5 hours the food still tasted great and fresh.

Driving out on Monte Cristo road, this is a place you could miss if you didn’t know about the delicious tacos, papas & tortas inside the ‘4 vientos’. You can park in front of one of the openings and get curb ordering service if you prefer taking it to go. I love sitting down at one of the large picnic tables with family or friends and enjoying delicious, authentic Mexican tacos & potatoes. The friendly waitress brings around charro beans with cilantro and pork fat swimming around the cup before the meal begins. Then comes my Fanta de Naranja(orange is the way to go) or Mexican Coke. My personal favorite are the bistek or beef fajita tacos on corn tortillas(you can get a mixture of corn & flour). The tacos come stuffed with meat, chopped onions and cilantro and if you ask, also can include grilled onions & lime on the side. Don’t forget to add avocado if that’s your thing & try their homemade, fresh and spicy salsas! I promise you that one should avoid ordering a potato for each person as those huuuge(which is probably an understatement) potatoes are enough for 3 – 4 people. Unlike a typical taqueria that throws sour cream, butter and cheese atop a papa, 4 Vientos mixes it into the entire potato so every bite has an equal(and insane) amount of cheese, sour cream or butter. You’ve also got the option to add meat onto your potato if you aren’t in a taco mood! Don’t come here if you’re on a diet or looking to consume a salad, come for delicious, authentic taqueria eats, friendly/fast service and a MexiCoke!

The real deal when it comes to South Texas taquerias. Why pay for tacos double wrapped in stale, greasy tortillas with very little meat when you can go to 4 Vientos? They use FRESH corn tortillas, and they don’t grease them up at all. In addition, they stuff your tacos with lots of lean, delicious meat(unless you order molleja or tripa, but that’s on you). I will never go back to double wrapped«reynosa-style» greasy tacos.
