This is a classic small town grocery mart/café(with quite limited offerings for the latter).(Sort of reminds me of Central Grocery in New Orleans, but on a different scale.) Visiting a friend who had moved nearby in Edinburg, in the morning we stopped in because he knew of their fried chicken. Unfortunately, they had already sold out of what they had prepared, but told us they would be preparing another batch in the afternoon, and we should stop by after 3:00 p.m. We did. Put simply, it was quite possibly the best fried chicken I have ever had. Unbelievably moist and well cooked, with a delicious, slightly spicy(cayenne?) coating. Wonderful. Don’t miss it. And the charming, friendly women(who I believe own the place) are the epitome of small town sincere, smiling service.
