Terrible experience like Tania, another reviewer. The Physician’s Assistant Adam Hetz at the Burnsville location SERIOUSLY misdiagnosed me (I got a second opinion 2 weeks ago). And tried to treat this misdiagnosis with a VERY aggressive and expensive treatment of a biological immunosuppressant drug, which he tried to put me on WITHOUT any blood tests or anything.
What’s worse is that he tried to BULLY me into treatment. He told me I would «die 7 years early if I didn’t start treatment today» and that I was like a «frog in a pot of water brought to a boil» and that I was destroying my body.
He didn’t listen to anything I said and was extremely dismissive and condescending (even though I have my doctorate — and he doesn’t!). Seemed like he was fresh out of school and was way overconfident in his abilities.
The dermatologist I finally saw for my final diagnosis told me this guy was absolutely clueless and diagnosed me with nothing more than eczema. A far cry from what this guy said I had (pustule psoriatic arthritis — and I didn’t have any pustules!). I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. STEER CLEAR.

I feel the need to warn people about this place due to my experience with them, but before I get into the negative aspects, the nurse Penny is the sweetest so I’ll give them that.
Without getting into too much detail, be extremely cautious about seeing their PA Adam Hetz. I had hives, he jumped to the conclusion that it was a skin condition that can cause Leukemia, a biopsy, blood work, and a week later, the results came back for just hives.
I can understand someone not wanting to say «it’s nothing» and it comes back as something serious, however for him not to take the time to ask me questions (if i’d recently changed my routine, allergies, how long I had the hives…) this would’ve never happened. Had he taken the time he would’ve learned I had just come back from a trip, I have no allergies, and I was getting over a cold which can cause hives.
As a medical professional you don’t do that, you don’t scare people by saying you’re «almost positive» it’s this awful condition. O the best part was he said he’d call me when my results were in, when he was proven wrong did he even call? NOPE! If you can avoid seeing him, please do, and if you have no choice, stand up for yourself. You know your body best, don’t let someone who won’t take the time to get to know your situation jump to incorrect conclusions.

I’m not sure what else I can say about Dr. Carney. He’s the best Dermatologist I’ve ever had… and I go about every other month. His care, compassion and bedside manner is awesome. Wherever you are in the metro area, you should come here for your skin needs.

I saw Dr. Jones about a week ago and had a great experience at Skin Speaks. Everyone is very friendly and Dr. Jones was very knowledgable. Definitely would recommend.
