I don’t get it? What’s all the fuss about? Five Guys is really nothing more than low end cafeteria style strip mall fast food joint. These are average burgers that while cooked properly and taste good, but are still meh. I’ve had far better hamburgers. The fresh fries are nice. If you are looking for a fast food burger but don’t want to ‘clown around’ it then I guess Five Guys is your place.

Five guys features juicy burgers served hot and fresh and made to order. One of the nice things is that for the most part, you don’t pay extra for toppings(cheese and bacon excepted) so its easy to have just what you want. They offer a wide variety of toppings including BBQ sauce, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, grilled or raw onions, mustard, ketchup, mayo and more. Be aware that the size of the standard burger is VERY large — like high school football player appetite large. They can easily feed two people if you are willing to settle for the exact same toppings. Luckily, they also offer their«small» burgers which are still quite generous in size but a much more manageable size and priced around $ 5. I’ll offer the same comment about the fresh cooked fries — the«regular» size is enough for a lot of people, at least 3. My wife and I shared the«mini» fries and still had some left over. When they serve you the food, they put an overflowing serving of thick cut home-style fries into the bag. Prices are pretty good. For the two of us — 2 small burgers and shared fries, under $ 20(we just had water to drink but they have shakes and sodas too). Plus they have huge boxes of peanuts in the shell available for you to snack on while they cook the food to order. They will yell out your number at the end of the counter when your food is ready. The only problem with the Edina location is the very limited parking.

Misleading menu plus it’s over priced. An example: hamburger($ 5.79), regular fries($ 3.29), and regular drink($ 2.29) add up to $ 11.37 before sales tax. Why is it misleading? Hamburger has 2 patties and regular fries are enough for at least 2 people. From the customer perspective, we pay for more food than we can eat plus being misinformed. And not to mention all the food being wasted if everyone orders burger and fries. There are probably lots of people order regular fries with their burger.

I love Five Guys. I don’t eat burgers and fries that often anymore but when I do if I can help it this is where I go. I like the burgers. For the price I feel like they nuke the competition out of the water. This location has only disappointed me once in the probably 6 – 7 times I’ve been. It was an anomaly, the buns were getting stale. I give em a pass on that because it was only once. I love the peanuts. I love the burgers. I love the fries.(gf says the fries are too soggy, and i’ve seen other reviewers mention it too but to that I say heartily, «MEH») Here’s what I don’t like about this location. The parking situation. Why does Edina/France Ave have so many shopping areas with such fucked up and inadequate parking. I thought this was the area richies shop how they hell do they park their Hummers, Escalades, Lexus and Mercedes SUV’s in these tiny lots compact cars have trouble navigating and finding a parking spot anywhere near your destination is harder than winning gold in the Olympics. Back on target, Five Guys. Love it.

Wow! Great burger. Anything you want on it. Great service, fast, friendly and very clean. Love the fries. Grab a sack and take it to the park next door. Also grab a couple of peanuts to share with the wildlife. So fun to chill out, have a great burger and fries and feed the squirrels.

Five Guys has fantastic burgers, especially at their price point. They are greasy and good, the fries, eh, those are so-so, not usually crispy enough. This location should be listed up there with Mt Everest in terms of difficult of access. There are never parking spots, and I say that having eyeballed all the spots to park up on the curb with the flashers on — seriously, even those spots are usually taken already. There is a parking ramp, but if you are running in for a carry out order they are a PITA to use.

Stopped in with my kids and their friends… My first Five Guys experience. Burgers are good but I thought the hype made then quite overrated. The burger wasn’t anything special and I think there are several better options in the Twin Cities. However, they had a steady stream of customers even at 2:15pm. Service was good but not great. The cooks all looked overwhelmed. And, all of the tables were dirty… I had to ask to have one cleaned off for us(which they did promptly). Note: they have peanuts for customers when you walk in the door. Thus, peanut shells are all over the floor. Not good for those with a peanut allergy.

Food/Drink: Ordered the standard burger, fries and a coke. Knew ahead that the fries are plenty enough to split, but went for my own anyways. Ordered the cheeseburger not realizing that they were doubles(I’m guessing the«littles’ are singles) which was a pleasant surprise. Either way, got it topped the way I liked it and it came out perfect. At some point, I felt the fries were just a ketchup delivery mechansim, but who am I to throw caution into the wind. Ketchup and fries for everyone… Ambiance: It’s a chain and it’s decent. Peanuts at the entrance(if you’re allergic, probably best to to stay away) and the setup is pretty quick to get your food, get your drinks and everything else and prepare for eating the good stuff. Tables turnover pretty quick which is a good thing if you’re in a hurry for lunch or with kids. Service: Good. I was reminded about the fries since they recognized two of us coming through the line as a group. And I screwed up and forgot to ask for something on my burger and they didn’t miss a step and got it on there. Overall: Rating by stars is tough. Don’t get me wrong, if I wanted a chain burger and fries, I’d be here. You get good value for money and you won’t walk away hungry. Service is quick and you can get going with the rest of your day quickly. If you’re looking to sit down and relax with friends(maybe even a beer, malt or patio), try an independent joint.

Good double burger meat, but they put melted cheese on it when I didn’t want cheese. I hate it when the order’s that simple and they don’t get it right.

Stopped in for lunch today 5 minutes after they opened and met with a line practcally out the door… Man, was it worth it! The line moved quickly and I was able to watch as they prepared burger after burger(never did see anyone order a dog). The food came quickly and was buried under a pile of perfectly cooked fries. I got the Cajun fries and they were hot, tasty and a bit spicy. I tried my friend’s «plain» fries and I was glad I got the Cajun ones! Numm. The burger was tasty and had mushroom, grilled onions, bacon and mayo. I got the little one and I was glad I did. The regular would have sent me back to work stuffed You need to go here. I will me back soon.

I LOVE five guys, but I have to rate this location 2 stars. They are the worst when it comes to customer service!!! I ordered a burger to go. My house is hardly even 3 minutes away from this place! I get home and my buns were drowned in sauce! It was like eating a watery bun!!! I couldn’t even grab my entire burger out of the tin foil, because the buns were stuck onto it. I called them and they pretty much told me it wasn’t any of their concern once it’s out of their hands!

Recently, I have moved back to MN from NV. One of the joys in life that I had never realized that I had lived without was In-N-Out. That being said, I may have found my new MN fast food burger home! The junior cheeseburger was much larger than anything I needed to eat on Saturday and the options for FREE toppings made my beating heart still for a few moments. The toppings also made room for creativity, which In-N-Out lacks, including green peppers on a burger? Strange, but DELICIOUS! We also ordered an order of fries, which were dumped into the bag, beyond the carton they came in. Five Guys was a delicious lunch that will have to be re-experienced again, and again, and again…

Went to the New 5 Guys Burgers on Blake Road across from Knolwood Mall. Nice Juicy Double bacon cheeseburger was quite tastey but too big for me! Single next time! Fries were above average!:)) fun atmosphere watching them prepare the burgers! Will return!

I find many similarities between 5 Guys and the notorious Kris Humphries. First, they both started out from humble beginnings. 5 guys started their first restaurant in Lorton, VA,(outside of Washington DC) who nobody has ever heard of. Kris Humphries started playing basketball at Hopkins High School, in the less flashier, more humble of all of the Western metro suburbs. Ove the next 15 years or so, 5 Guys went on to rapidly expand their stores after a bit of a slow start. They went from one location in Virginia to 5 in the DC-area to finally over 1,000 as of last count. Kris graduated from high school and had big plans to attend Duke, one of the top schools for college basketball, but instead opted to play for his hometeam at the U of M for one year. He then went pro, playing for the Utah Jazz at the age of 19. I remember when he played there, he had a blog on the Jazz’s website. I would read it and thought the whole time that someone needed to call a timeout on these shenanigans because he was clearly writing this himself. Typos, run-on sentences, entire paragraphs that didn’t make any sense. 5 Guys may have taken a cue from this nonsense and has a super simple, straight forward menu so that there can be no confusion. Order a burger(regular or little, which to normal folks is a regular) with as many or as few toppings as you’d like. Fries are the only side and again, the small will easily feed two or three. People seem to like their food though, because they’ve won awards. From 2010 — 2011, they’ve been named the fastest growing fast food chain. Kris was named a McDonald’s All American ironically in 2003. In 2004 he was the Big 10 Freshman of the year, a big deal considering the Gophers ended that season considering that they were tied with Penn State for the worst record in the conference. Just like Kris Humphries is just one member of the Nets(for now, at least), 5 Guys is just one player in the fast food arena and there are definitely better out there. Just as Kris is not expected to come back to the Nets next year, I’m probably not likely to come back to 5 Guys very often because I’m not sure that it lives up to the hype. And, much like Kris’ salary, I don’t think 5 Guys is a great value and left feeling like I didn’t get much bang for my buck.

What’s not to like. We were headed to a different place when I smell the 5 Guys and decided we have to change our plan and go here instead. I think they could back off the fry overload a little, but it’s a great place to go for a burger and some fries.

This is a nice, casual burger joint. The employees seem happy to work here and that makes it more fun. There is little for ambiance with bright fluorescent lights and the rock-hard chairs are uncomfortable. The food is quite good though. The burgers are highly customizable for no up charge and the fries are hand cut pieces of deliciousness. Definitely order the little burger and small fries. The little burger is still quite large and the little fries are enough to share. I made the mistake of ordering a regular fries to share and we only ate about 1⁄3 of them combined. It’s a ridiculously stupid portion. Service is slow since everything is made to order. Just grab some free peanuts to curb your hunger pains.

Alright. .. I know there’s a cultish-worship aura around this chain, and that it’s a greasy burger and fry place, so I expected good things. All told not the worst quick-serve burger experience I’ve ever had, but I’ll never go back. First, the one positive point, the burgers are good. Not great. Not anything to be excited about. Not even good enough to tell a friend. But they’re not garbage. They taste like a Wendy’s burger, i.e. definitely not frozen, but the quality isn’t something you’ll get at a traditional restaurant. Again, they’re not great. Not by a long shot. They’re not juicy; they’re greasy, which I’m usually OK with, but no wow factor to speak of. And c’mon, why be so disingenuous? This is America. People love grease, myself included. The fact that the burger was good is the only thing saving this from being a one-star rating. I also found it disingenuous that the«regular burger» is a double and that the«little burger» is one patty. How hard is it to have«single» and«double»? I know, this is America, we do it big here, but COMEON. Why? Why scam people into dropping a buck fifty more for something they might not want? Same goes for the fries: why do you have to give me so damn many? Why can’t there be a legitimate«single» portion? I could have easily split the amount of fries I got between three hearty guys and we all would have been satisfied. I could hardly get through 1⁄3 of what I got — a total waste of food and money. Charge me $ 1.99 for something smaller. Seriously. Total scam. And they weren’t even that good. The drinks, too, are overpriced. At least give me a meal deal, whether it’s a burger/fry price like a traditional restaurant or a break for ordering a drink and fries. The whole meal was overpriced. It cost me $ 11.92(or something like that) for getting fooled into a double burger, enough fries to feed a family(I’m sure they gave me an extra large portion for the regular. .. they must have. .. maybe the cooks felt bad about the exorbitant price and tried to make up for it in a weird way), and an overpriced drink. No meal deal. I wish I could have my money back so I could hit up a non-franchised local place, get the same meal(albeit better) in reasonable portions, and get a tasty beer instead. I really don’t get it. People think those toppings are free? Don’t be a dumb ass — it’s all built into the basic, nearly punitive price of the burger. I’ve rarely felt simultaneously insulted and horrible after a greasy meal. Enough ranting. .. now for a beer. ..
