Wow, we had dinner here last Saturday since there was a date night dinner advertised. First, we stopped at Breadsmith across the street since it has my favorite raisin walnut rye bread on Saturdays only. Then, we stopped here for our pre-Valentine’s dinner. Well, the crowd was kinda light since it was just 5PM but later picked up. I had the chicken penne and my wife had the shrimp capellini. Well, I liked my wife’s dish better and they were generous with the shrimp. My dish was larger and meatier so probably worth it if you wanted a hearty meal. Otherwise, I would have chosen my wife’s dish. We had 2 salads as starters as well with a bottle of white wine for only $ 32. Not a bad deal, huh. Anyways, we left satisfied and would come back here again for date night.

Went there for lunch today(first time at this location due to a recent job switch). I tried the Braised Beef and Buffalo Mozzerella Ravioli, which was WONDERFUL. The service was very good. I subtracted one star for the parking situation, which I’m sure was made worse since it’s the week of Christmas. It is NOT easy to run in and grab a lunch to go. I’ll try again when there is no holiday looming :)

I am giving D’Amicos a poor review due to their unreliability in hours and service. D’Amico’s is the only restaurant I know of that changes their hours and services without warning and as the mood strikes. They frequently close their doors early, without warning. If their website lists their closing time as 9:00pm, then they ought to have the respect and courtesy for their customers to stick to that closing time. Don’t lock your doors at 8:15 just because business is slower than usual. D’Amico’s has developed a loyal following… shouldn’t they show the same loyalty in return? Their delivery service is another joke. They offer delivery, as do all D’Amico’s restuarants in the country… but the Edina location cannot seem to get their act together to offer it with any kind of consistency. About 50% of the time they end up having to cancel the service. What is worse, they do not offer an explanation nor even an apology. It happened again to me this evening. And when I sounded bummed out about it, they told me while they could not deliver tonight, I could go through«Diningin.com». They even recommended what was good tonight. I thanked them and proceeded to place the order using«Dining.in». I could not believe it when I received a phone call from«Dining In» to tell me that their driver arrived at D’Amico’s door to pick up my order a full 45 minutes before their closing time… and the driver was met with locked doors and indifferent employees who were cleaning up inside… once again getting ready to close early. Dining-In was dumbfounded. What does it say about a business that is indifferent to the very people who keep them in business? It is a family restaurant in a family neighborhood setting. Every time they fail to honor their delivery service… or close early rather than keep their doors open on a slowish night, they are throwing an entire family of people into a tail spin. It’s just plain rude and selfish… and I am tired of it. I will be going elsewhere from now on.

So expensive for what you get. You have to order at the counter and there’s no service. Just as expensive as a full-service restaurant.

This is a local chain and catering company. There is always a wide selection of cold pasta salads, pasta meals, coal fired pizzas, and green salads. Since I went there to use my free birthday meal, I had to order the fall special of butternut squash ravioli with veggies and topped with a brown butter sauce. It was very rich, yet delicious. If I had paid for it, the cost would have been $ 15 for a very small portion. There always seems to be a line here to order food. Once your order is placed, they will deliver the food out to your table. The staff was kind and quick. Tip-I get emails about date night for $ 32, which switches each month. This includes 2 meals, dessert, and a bottle of wine or 2 beers. Not bad.

When I travel to the Twin Cities area for business, this is one of my stops for lunch. I adore the chicken Gorgonzola salad and order it every visit. If only they would give me the recipe… The service is superb. Can’t wait for my next trip to the Twin Cities!

Rated best eat-out by my 2-year old! She would actually ask for the cheese pizza from here, but otherwise a picky eater. No wonder, ‘coz pizza crust is soft and served hot straight from the wood-fired oven. She eats and we eat, meal-time dealt with. Awesome table service. Looking forward to more family meal-times here. Can’t thank you guys enough!

Probably the worst restaurant experience ever. Ordering take-out, the cashier was taking care of the previous customers, then just walked away after dealing with them. Someone eventually came to the register to take my order. Had a feeling that it would be a long wait, pulled a chair out at a table to sit down. As I did, an employee gruffly told me the he needed that table and that I could sit in another area(he later brought the table back as it wasn’t needed). The time was about 40 minutes for a take-out sandwich order which is crazy. The«toasted» sandwiches were black. The entire staff seemed very nonchalant about falling so behind in orders. I sent my concerns to D’Amico through their website, had to fill out a form, so I don’t have that email. This is the response from the area manager– Hello Todd, Thank you for reaching out to us through our web site instead of going through Unilocal.I would love an opportunity to speak to you directly about your experience at the Edina D’Amico & Sons. Such feedback is very valuable to me so please, when it’s convenient for you, call me at Xxx-xxx-xxxx office or xxx-xxx-xxx cell phone. If it easier, you can also leave me a number to reach you at and a good time to call. Thank you for the opportunity to make things right. Xxxxx My response– Hi Xxxxx, Thanks for getting back to me. If it is convenient for you, give me a call during the day on my cell at Xxx-xxx-xxxx. Been to D’Amico many times, last night was somewhat surreal in the service area. Again, not looking for free food(nor will accept), but as a professional courtesy thought I should make you aware, as I know and have managed operations with F & B and it is a tough business. I hate the anonymous losers that will rip you online without actually first talking to you, trying to do my good deed for the day, although it may not seem like it :) Thanks, Todd Two full business days later and no call, upper management mirrors the restaurant’s staff attitude– ___________________________________________________

I was excited to try this place. Was bummed with my meal. Ordered chicken sandwich, a brownie, and a drink. $ 14 and change. The brownie was rock hard(it was cold) I still couldn’t even cut it with a knife. The sandwich was OK. It came with a small bag of chips. Nothing extraordinarily tasty.

Went in Tuesday for their«Wine and Dine» promotion, two salads, two pastas and unlimited house wine for $ 32. Service gets 5 stars, food was prompt and our wine glasses were never empty for more than a few minutes. I got a Caesar Salad and Fettuccine with Shrimp and Pistachio Pesto, she got the House Salad and the Spicy Linguine with Calamari. Salads were pretty standard, pastas were good but not great. Good portions all around; Fettuccine was cooked well and had plenty of tiny shrimp, though pistachio flavor was mostly absent and the whole dish was quite heavy handed with the olive oil. Linguine had great flavor and heat but the calamari gets lost and again too heavy with the oil. Overall average, will definitely be back to try other dishes and to check out lunch.

Ok this is my favorite location, I remember when this was Clancys and we used to ride our bikes here. Now I take my little foodies after haircuts or shopping, The food is always great easy in and easy out. Love all the cold salads and pastas & deserts

It’s a very good looking space, and the outdoor seating is great when the weather is right. The service is very friendly, but slow. The food is uneven, and never spectacular. The tomato sauce is not homemade so the pastas are just OK, the salads are over dressed and the pizzas are drowning in parmesan cheese. If you pick the right sandwich, you’ll be satisfied. And the soups are good.

Another train wreck of an experience. Overprice and underwhelmed and underserved. Cold soup, stale bread & wilted lettuce; took soup back for a warmup, manager was too busy to be bothered. The busser came and asked how things were, we expressed our thoughts and he took care of us. He should be promoted, and the tool behind the counter should be fired. My wife summed it up, decent ingredients allowed to go bad; completely disorganized staff behind the counter, and a manager more concerned about the«business» than the customer Enjoy this D’Amico, as I will never spend a penny here again.

Patty M. summed D’Amico’s up perfectly. It’s not fancy, but solidly good. The décor is cute with a crisp black and white theme, dotted with kitschy displays of olive oils, faux fruits and painted dishes. The food is all very good, and changes little from visit to visit. My personal favorite is the Tuscan Pot Roast; the meat is so tender it can be cut with the side of a fork and the potatoes and carrots it’s served with are solid, though not overly flavorful. I also think the portion sizes are perfect. I left feeling full but certainly not overstuffed. D’Amico’s is also very family-friendly(We don’t have children ourselves, but there were many kiddos around and a decent menu for little people to boot). Finally, I think the prices at D’Amico’s are fair and reasonable. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go to D’Amico’s, but I’d certainly visit if presented with the opportunity.

We went at 700 on a Tuesday and it took over an hour with ordering and waiting for our food to come out! All we ordered was a kids pepperoni pizza and a lasagna. We also had a sandwich that we got right away, paid $ 9 for and the avocado was brown. I could have made a better sandwich at home!

Reliably good Italian-style deli with a nice variety of pastas, salads and entrees. We are particularly found of the dried cherry and turkey pasta salad and their tangy Cesar salad. We stopped in recently because we hadn’t planned ahead and all the real restaurants at 50th and France had long waits. The place was reasonably busy with young families but there wasn’t any problem getting a table on a Saturday evening after placing our order. In the evenings they offer free refills of their house wines — not the highest quality vintages but hey, its free! — which is a nice touch.

I love this place, and am generally here at least 2 – 3 times a month with my family or friends. It’s our«go to place». The food is not super fancy, but solidly good. Can’t beat the unlimited wine refills. It’s definitely a place you can linger and chat while you eat your food, and the staff is amazingly friendly and remembers us all the time. I agree with another reviewer who says the value is a great reason to go. Prices are very reasonable — my family and I can get away with $ 50 for the three of us, plus they have stamp cards to get a free meal after you purchase 5. As much as we love to try different restaurants, every time we pay more than $ 50 for mediocre food we wish we would have just gone to Damico’s.

Let’s be honest, D’Amico & Sons is what it is. What it is, is a nice solid reliable little place. Always good, always clean, always predictable. If D’Amico was a girlfriend she’d be driving me nuts with how boring she is. I mean, who wants predictable in a lady? Not moi! D’Amico is the girl you date that is pretty enough, but not drop dead gorgeous. D’Amico is the girl who gets with you every night before bed, but not on the kitchen table during the middle of the day. D’Amico is the girl who loves you but never lusts for you. D’Amico is the girl who… well, you get it. Good thing D’Amico is a restaurant. Predictable is good in a restaurant. Not great, mind you, but good. Sandwiches are good, pizza is good, the salads are good, pastas are good. Not drop dead gorgeous great, but good. D’Amico should definitely be on your list of girls you visit once every month or two, but only when she calls. Never let D’Amico be the one you chase. Unless, of course, she starts taking REAL chances and starts becoming UNpredictable. I’ll see you in a month or so D’Amico baby. MUAH!

Such a quality place for lunch. I work part-time at Athleta on 50th and France, and this is my favorite place to go on my lunch break. I always get the same thing, and it’s so good I would have a hard time getting something else! For $ 10 you can get one of their combos.(Make sure you get a combo card from them as well– buy 5 combos, get one free!) So in the combo you can get ½ a sandwich, and one salad from inside the case. I get the mozzarella/tomato/basil panini sandwich with the gorgonzola chicken pasta salad. Both of these really are amazing. The panini just all melts together to create a flavor explosion in your mouth. The gorgonzola chicken salad is just indescribable, it’s that good. Make sure to get extra gorgonzola on the top. You also get a slice of bread with butter and a bag of chips. Quite a lot of food for the price! And the staff! The amazing staff! Every time I go I get a warm welcome from the gang behind the counter. I feel like I belong. It’s awesome.
