China Star

Food was just average. Crab Rangoon had no flavor. General’s Chicken was not spicy at all. Won Ton soup broth was good but the wontons in it contained only a teeny amount of meat. Disappointed.

Love this place! We had not been here for a long time. Double Dragon was our favorite, but since it closed we made a visit to China Star. This place is a lot like Double Dragon. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was outstanding. If you loved Double Dragon you will love China Star.

Love this place for veggie stir fried rice. Always hot and delivered right to my door. Have eaten here for years. Family owned business. If they don’t get it right the first time, they work hard to make it like you like it! Leslie

I’ve always come in around lunch time and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. For the price I believe the food quality is pretty good. Everything seems fairly fresh and is always cooked properly. ALSO, as a bonus they have Barq’s Red Cream Soda on fountain which is a childhood favorite of mine that I don’t see that often. The portion sizes are perfect for most people (myself being of the larger variety, it satisfies my hunger). All in all, would take friends and family here to enjoy the experience.

Ordered at 7:29 quoted 45 – 60 minutes. Was called at 7:58 to be informed they were out of duck. Had to call at 8:55 to track order and was told the food had left. We live 2.6 miles (6 minutes) per mapquest. Food showed up 10 minutes later. Ordered soup, apps and 3 entrees for two of us to get a taste of the menu and have plenty of left overs. Shrimp spring rolls were good. I wish I could return the rest. Saw this place after picking up laundry and thought it would be a good spot to try on a Friday night. We will be returning to our go to back on Dixie Highway. Would have been nice if they would have told us there was a delay when they called. I assumed they were starting our order and it would be on its way in 10 – 15. Bland food was not near worth the wait. I should have wallked to McDonalds.

We eat at China Star all the time. The family that runs the restaurant are very nice. The food is consistently good. They get a lot of take out orders. They are very good about making the order to your liking… great place…

It’s a small mom and pap restaurant, been going there for almost 10 years now. the food is always consistent and anything you get is good. service is always great. Glad they’re down the street from me

My family gets take out Chinese from here often. Its nothing fancy, just your average strip mall Chinese mom and pop restaurant. But for us, that’s perfect. The food’s always been hot and ready in 15 minutes or less. The owners are quiet, but friendly. My husband loves the curry chicken. I’ve tried a few different meals on the menu and have never been disappointed. We really like the meals because it’s the perfect portion.

I detest the very idea of strip mall eatery, and have never developed a taste for Asian food. That said, this place is an oasis of tasty foods, and bargain prices. The Chicken Cashew is top quality, and the egg rolls are fabulous.
Sure the service is amateurish, and the décor stark, but it is all about the food in this case.

Decent food, but buyer beware if dark meat isn’t your thing. I ordered the general tso, but had to return it after cutting into one of the pieces of chicken – or at least I beleive it was chicken. They exchanged it with a spicy chicken and vegetable dish (white meat of course) which was excellent. Overall, I’ll come back because I found something I like. My suggestion is if you have a bad dish on your first attempt, give them a second chance.
