Went for Weekday Happy Hour Food — 5⁄5. They have a really big variety when it comes to their happy hour specials! Tuna Poke had fresh fish with delicious seasonings. The Spicy Crispy Shrimp had a very light tempura-like batter that still had the perfect crunch with every bite. The Crispy Fish Sandwich was surprisingly large for the price I was paying and was indeed, true to it’s name, very crispy. The cod inside was tender and flaky, with the tartar sauce adding a great creamy texture. Service — 3⁄5. They didn’t have the wine I asked for and said the manager is on it. Way after, when the food was coming out, they told me they didn’t have it at all. The bill was ignored for about 5 minutes even though I clearly had my credit card visible on the table. Only after I called for them did they take my bill. These are minor issues, but I think the small things matter when it comes to service. Otherwise, they were friendly! Price — 5⁄5. There is great value in a $ 4 fish sandwich. The other food items come with(small) sides as well and are definitely worth the money. Another great spot to dine after work in Edgewater! Parking — Private Lot(Free)

Went here today for Father’s Day. They are re-modeling, changing the name(soon) & changed the menu. Everything we had was delicious. Glad we made a reservation since it was VERY busy at 1pm but still got a window seat I requested while making the reservation. We started with Mussels in Wine sauce, the sauce was to die for & every drop was soaked up with their delicious bread. Also had the Fried Calamari, which was the most tender I have ever had & came with a delicious dipping sauce. For dinners we had the Fried Fishermans Platter, which was very fresh & tasty. The Tilapia & Shrimp Blanca was delicious, would definitely order it again. The Filet Mignon was«OK», but this is mostly a fish restaurant so there weren’t many land lubber choices. Beautiful views of NYC& staff was wonderful, the owner came over to the table many times to check on everything. Can’t wait to try again once the renovations are complete.

Went here for my birthday with my family and had a really mediocre time. The service was abominable for what the food costs. I had made a preferably outdoor reservation but when we arrived, they still tried to still seat is out there… in the rain. The squad of hostesses seemed annoyed we didn’t want to sit at a wet table. Our server was slow and super apathetic. I get it dude, you hate your job, this isn’t your dream, but how hard is it to pretend to care? We waited 40 minutes for an appetizer of raw oysters, an hour for entrée, then could not find our waitor for our check. Reservation was for 7– we left around 11. Ive worked in hospitality a long time and what I experienced here just had no excuse. We ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, the $ 90 seafood boil, and were still ignored. You’d think they’d at least want to work for tips on high bills. I don’t take leaving less than 20% lightly but he really deserved less, sorry man. On the bright side, the view is nice.

The Crab House was a good treat while visiting Jersey. The food was good. The service was a little slow; but worth the wait. Hot temperature for crab cake and cool crispy spinach leaves for salad. Produce was fresh and drinks were tasty! Inviting ambience and comfortable seating area. I’ll return again!

Such an amazing afternoon lunch! The quality and service was exceptional. I had a blackened salmon over spinach with goat cheese. It was amazing! The other guests I dined with all loved there meals as well! Our drinks were well crafted and especially delicious. Our server Jordan, found out it was my birthday and brought out a delicious crème brûlée! It was on point ! Jordan made our dining experience amazing and we will definitely be back again!

The view from this restaurant is beautiful. The food was good, I had two lobster tails with asparagus and mashed potatoes, which was delicious. However, I also ordered their steam pots with crab legs don’t waste your money, the crab legs taste salty and gross and you literally get three little legs. For dessert, I had a crème Brule which was delicious. The service, was okay. Our waiter was sweet BUT service was so slow. People that came in after us left before us. We literally sat there for two hours! Would I give it another try yes, but I am hoping next time service is faster.

Everyone need to check your bills in this place. My friends and I went to this place and we spend like hundreds dollars and when we paid with our credit card and we give tips with cash. When my credit card post the charges and I found out someone in this restaurant put the tips on my bills which I already give them cash. So I filed the fault in this restaurant on my bills. I love the food but I will never and never come back again.

Honestly this place doesn’t even deserve the one star but I’m required to put something. I’m writing this as I leave the restaurant today on Mothers Day not even able to have my meal. First off I made this reservation for Mother’s Day being a «holiday» a week in advance. I was told to come early if not my seat will be given and I will be put on a waiting list. So as requested I came early about 15 minutes and gave my name when I came in. The hostesses 5 I may add told me it would be just a few minutes. So I waited. Time and time passes and 6:15 comes I ask them again how long will it be they say just a few more minutes once again. As this is happening I see other parties one after another being seated before me. 6:30 rolls along and I ask how much more time they said they’re preparing the table as we speak, few more parties seated before me once again two big ones to be exact. Then finally around 6:45 my name is called I come to the front and again they tell me I need to wait a few more seconds. So I say why would you call me and tell me to wait again?! And she said if you want to sit without silverware that’s fine we can seat you. I said why would you say we are prepping your table and have no silverware. The manager chuckles and makes a sarcastic remark and says it’s a «holiday» and oh man I spoke my mind with the sarcastic remarks she made. And she told us well if you don’t like it we don’t need to seat you. And she kept on with her fucking attitude! And this is the manager! Never apologized for the wait nothing just fucking attitude towards me. I should’ve just followed my gut when I saw the amount of stars this place has but I thought why not judge for myself. Didn’t even get to judge the food but just from the service, attitude and courtesy I received on this«holiday» where it should have been at its finest I will never return! Over an hour late after my reservation time. Some places I would’ve still sat but with the attitude and customer service I received from this female manager on this Mothers Day 2016 I refused to. They could give me a free meal and I will refuse, that’s the distaste I received today. I want to say a big FUCK you to her, the manager that worked that day! And for you guys that know me, fellow elites I am far from cruel and I am very patient so you know she was being a bitch!

Following the recommendation below I hate giving one star reviews but today it is definitely well deserved. As I was with the same party there should be no reason you need to wait over 30 minutes for a table, especially if a reservation was made well in advance. I was foolish in coming here anyway seeing it’s rated 2 stars. What kind of manager gets sarcastic with you and had a disgusting attitude, especially when you are in wrong and on a holiday! Just because it is a holiday doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be treated as a human being. Thank you for ruining Mothers Day for us! As an elite I always try to give a business a chance and do not expect super amazing service but there is no reason we should be treated the way we were when I am trying to spend my hard earned money! Even if you do not believe us, read the other reviews and that’s more then enough to stay away!

It was late afternoon and a friend and I wanted to relax in a restaurant with a river view. We decided to see if we might find that view at this restaurant. We saw a table by the window, and were initially refused until we insisted as there was no «reserved» sign or notice on the table. Our waitress was very polite since we were in no rush to order our dinner. She returned a few times and we finally ordered. Our beer was served cold as we had hoped and our dinners were brought 20 minutes later. The rolls we were served were blah. My friend was served battered fish and potato which was a little boring. My twin baked lobster tails looked ravishing with melted butter. For nearly $ 40.00 they might not have overcooked them, since they were tasty but chewy. Overall, we were pleased with the dinner, and considering the respectable service and nice river view, we got what we wanted.

As of April 2015, they updated the happy hour menu again! good Bloody Marys and Strong house drinks… It seems Sundays are always hectic in there, but the waiters and servers are on their A-game and try to keep up as much as they can. They have beers from $ 3, mixed drinks at $ 5, and glasses of wine at $ 4. Food ranged from $ 3 drumplings to $ 15 buckets of steamed seafood and other items.

Our waiter was pretty dope accommodated us very well. We found this spot simply for the oysters they have in which they have a variety(3 or 4) but we specifically came for the Hama Hama Bay ones which we’ve previously eaten. We ordered a dozen they bought out 10 on the plate and the ten wasn’t hand selected and poorly picked as they barely had oyster on the shell, the waiter was kind enough exchange and swap out for better ones. Food was pretty good as well I think portions could have been bigger especially for the shrimp/snow crab steam 1 measly pair of legs come on

I had somewhat high expectations for this place. I am a LOVER of crab legs so I was excited to try this place out. The restaurant has a perfect location, right on the water with a magnificent view of the city. The décor is not fancy at all, nor is the atmosphere, so please feel free to walk in wearing sweats. I was definitely overdressed for this place. The menu is nothing fancy. For appetizers we had ordered some fried lobster bites. We received a total of 5 oddly shaped lobster pieces with a side of some weird dry noodles that were not edible. Since we hated our appetizer so much we went ahead and ordered something from the soup and salad section from the menu. Now this my friends was the best part of the night and sadly the tastiest. The Crab, Avocado & Mango Stack was so refreshing. I was hoping they have a «just crab legs» dinner, since again I LOVE crab legs and this place is called the Crab House. Nope, this was just like Joes Crab Shack. My date and I ordered the Crab House Feast — An indulgence for 2, $ 90 worth of crap. They throw a bunch of crap in a steamer, boil it and BAM, dinner is served. I would have had a better time at Red Lobster. Seriously. The staff was pretty unprofessional too. 2 stars just for the view and the Crab, Avocado & Mango Stack ;)

Everything about last night was amazing. The view, décor, staff, & food was very good. I reserved the table for my boyfriend & I; we did not expect the restaurant to turn out the way it did for it to be located in a shopping mall strip. As we drove closer we realized that the restaurant was actually located on the water with this amazing view of the west side highway & Manhattan. When the summer time comes I know it’ll be extravagant dining here especially because they also have an out door seating area. The only thing about my meal I did not enjoy was the lobster & that’s because I’m not a fan of the entire thing I only enjoyed the tail & claw, other than that everything was amazing mainly the salmon. Also their selection of wine was amazing their bar ran out of mascoto so my second glass, being that it wasn’t a full glass of wine, was on the house kudos to them. We will certainly be back again once the weather warms up.

It’s never good when you walk into a place on a Sunday early evening and the place is half empty. I expect fresh when I get seafood. The food here was just mediocre. Even the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail looked wilted and overlooked. This was more like a Friday’s for seafood then a legit seafood restaurant. The mixed green salad looked like it was sitting all day before being served. I would give this one star but the waiter was so attentive so I add an extra star for service and the pretty views of the Hudson.

The food was pretty good. Can’t complain about that at all. We had the appetizer platter and the crab dip was amazing. My major issue was the service. The waiter and manager were so concerned with the tables on either side of us that in the hour and half we were there we saw them twice. But every time we saw them, the proceeded to offer some membership club? It was weird. Anyways the views are amazing but not worth the money we paid for what we got. Definitely not a suggestion!

I also went to this place during my birthday weekend. The hostess was very nice, and informative about the different menus. We were sat right away, and by the window for the New York view. Our server was attentive, and honest about which foods were good to choose. The overall experience was nice, however, we ordered the appetizer sampler and the calamari was very salty, we also found a fried lemon mixed with it. Strange. But besides that everything was good. I recommend the tilapia provencal for an entrée.

I moved to NJ recently and had been very reluctant to try this place due to the reviews. However, we were desperate for a restaurant like this and finally gave it a try and I wish we had sooner! It turned out to be a nice experience. The view is nice as it’s on the water with the NYC skyline. We had great service. Beatriz was the name of our server and she was very attentive and sweet. The food was good … We had a crab cake appetizer and the steamed shrimp and crab combo. We had a piña colada and mango mojito. The drinks should’ve been a bit stronger, but still were good. I even signed up for the club membership. Maybe because our low expectations drove our great deal of satisfaction. But I will definitely visit again and recommend to others!

I never knew this place existed. Especially when this restaurant is by the water. How could I have not known? Luckily the boyfriend decided to take me here since I love everything seafood and has a water view. When we entered, the place seemed a bit rowdy. There were many people celebrating something here. The noise level was a bit annoying but since they had groups of customers, we thought maybe their food tastes fresh & declicious. They had outdoor seating overlooking the water. I think they had upstairs seating too, but it was closed. The place was pretty spacious. Since it was a bit muggy and windy that night, we decided to be seated indoors. We will definitely be coming back hopefully when it gets warm next year to sit outside enjoying their food and drinks and the weather. On to the food. We had the crabcakes, crab stuffed snapper & the cedar plank salmon. It was all pretty good. A tad bit on the salty side. The service was a bit slow. It can get a bit agitating especially when you are famished. Their menu was a bit pricey but hey, you got the view and fresh seafood ain’t cheap. I guess it made up for it. I mostly gave it 4 stars because of its location and view. I would still come back to try other dishes from their menu hoping it would be better next time.

I remember this restaurant being mediocre two years ago, but it has really gone down the tubes. None of the food tasted fresh. I ordered a $ 15 chopped salad with shrimp and all I got was a plate full of iceberg lettuce and 5 really small grilled shrimp. The calamari, although crispy, was basically 1⁄3 calamari and the rest a bunch of other fried food like jalapenos, pineapple, and peppers. The shrimp fresca tasted like a lean cuisine and the only thing that saved the crab cake was the sauce it was smothered in. A good crab cake doesn’t need to be soaked with remoulade. Even the fries were awful. I am so embarrassed that I took my family, who were visiting from out of state, to this establishment. The server, Julian, was really nice though.

Thumbs Down! Almost an hour wait before appetizers even came. Then after one bite sent it back(calamari) was stale. And then when my meal came(fried shrimp & ff) the shrimp was tasteless and there had to be maybe 15 fries on the plate. My husband didn’t like his food either(seafood platter Honestly this food tasted boxed frozen food that was stuck in the oven. Total waste. The best part was the bread that came for the table and that’s for sure. Never Again!

I feel bad leaving a bad review, but there were just too many negatives that left us shaking our head. Waiter seemed new, or possibly, it was even his first day. He didn’t have a pen on him to take our order. H didn’t know the beers they served, at all. We ordered our 2 ½ year old’s meal first. It came last, because somebody forgot the order(I’m assuming the waiter). Two rounds of drinks, our oysters, then appetizer, and then crab pot, all came out first, which were all ordered at various points after the initial kids meal was ordered. The oysters were not cold enough. The sampler platter was like something you would get in a bar, and the crab pot($ 42) was probably ½ of what you would get at Joe’s Crab Shack for less money. It took 12 minutes to get the dessert my wife/kid wanted; a slice of cake from a pre-made cake. IE: it shouldn’t take that long to cut a slice of cake. Overall, not impressed. Most of the staff seemed disoriented the entire time, and the managers do not have a handle on this place. We would not go back. Maybe somebody else will have a better experience.

Really want to give this place a chance but there were just a lot of sub par aspects. Pros: the waitress was nice albeit not super attentive but she did get my boyfriend all the sauces they had available, the appetizer platter was decent and their dessert, the chocolate lava cake was the only reason they got a second star honestly. Cons: woo where to begin? Let’s start with the tacky and outdated décor… when I looked at their outdoor seating they had cheap plastic chairs. The tables were covered with paper and it was because they didn’t bother to wash the actual table clothes. The drinks were so watered down that even though I am a lightweight I didn’t even catch the slightest buzz. When I got the second drink, the prickly pear, wow it tasted nothing like a pear and more like sugar and food coloring. The appetizer platter was all over the place, we got a battered and fried lemon and red pepper… what? The main course I got was the Shrimp Fresca and boyfriend got the Shrimp Platter. The presentation was pretty bad and the pasta was supposed to have lemony butter sauce but I hardly tasted a thing. The shrimp that came with it oozed grease, one bite and it coated my mouth and finger tips, yuck! It also came with what was supposed to be lump crab, but was more like flakes. Boyfriend was pretty happy with his course despite some burnt fries. All of this for $ 112 and I first I thought not bad as I thought about the entire meal I was severely disappointed. It seems like the staff runs amok and their management is pretty poor. Most of the time the waiters stood around in groups talking to each other and it looked very unprofessional. Will not be going back nor suggesting it to any one sadly.

I went to the Crabhouse after work to meet up a friend for dinner. It is located near the Target and Outback but its on the water. There are lots of parking so that is a plus. The atmosphere is ok and the restaurant itself looks somewhat dated. The plus side to this place is the view. I would strongly suggest going there around 8pm because the views of the city are nice. As for the food, its was ok but not great. I did order a dozen oysters and they were fresh and tasty. Overall this establish is ok but for what your getting i believe it is a little overpriced. My views expressed are of my own and are from my personal experience from this establishment but may not reflect this actual establishment or someone else’s experience at the establishment.

Came here for restaurant week tonight with the bf and cousin. Boy, should I have listened to the reviews or what! I had fond memories here as a kid, so I was being stubborn. Bf and I both ordered a grilled ceasar and fisherman’s fried platter with desserts. The salad was the best thing about that meal. The fried seafood platter had fried shrimp, fish, onions, and stuffed crab. All were heavily greasy and on the cold side. Greasy and cold… No go. This also came with Cole slaw, which was terrible. It had way too much parsley in it. Way too much. Actually, my cousin got an entrée where the side was parsley potatoes… what? Parsley overkill. For dessert, I got the egg nog crème brulee and bf got the gingerbread cheesecake. The crème brulee was okay, but I thought the flavor was out-of-season. Same with the gingerbread. Speaking of gingerbread… That cheesecake was gingerbread overload. It was so strong and the flavor of gingerbread was definitely overpowering. On top of all the gingerbread cheesecake was a gingerbread cream sauce of some sort. Blech! Talk about adding insult to injury! Side note: My cousin loved his lobster tail, but skipped on the sides. To me, a lobster tail with unsavory side isn’t worth $ 35. I’m sure he feels the same. While our waiter was very very nice, service was also excruciatingly slow. I mean, Watching paint dry kind of slow. And I kid you not, there were less than 20 patrons in the WHOLE restaurant. There were more than enough waiters to each have two tables and finito! I think I even overheard an older gentleman get fussy because the food was taking so long! Overall, the flavors were lackluster and didn’t make sense. The regular menu(outside of restaurant week) was overpriced and after my experience with this restaurant week menu, I’m skeptical to try anything from the regular menu. I hope the manager walking around that night got the hint from the *VERY* minimal patron attendance and does something about the food, quality of food, and service. I can’t imagine how much worse the food or service can be if the place were even half occupied!

Rip off at The Crab House– stay away from steamed snow crabs-$ 15 per ½ lb! Yikes! I see why they have two stars– only one from me and this will be the last time I patronize this eatery. Prices aren’t clearly stated when you improvise. Side steamed crab — ½ lb, one thin cluster – $ 15! Well stick a fork in me– I AMDONE. Management didn’t budge when I argued my point about the absurdity of the price– the failure of the otherwise nice and attentive server and the lack of pricing on the menu. Update: 2nd go around with manager– she wants me to be happy and said she would take the full price off the check. I offered to pay $ 10 — just on principle won’t pay $ 15. I don’t wish to penalize the nice server but the guest should be told what the prices are clearly from either the menu or the server. I am only partially satisfied. I am not looking for charity– only fairness.
