Oh Bubba, What can I say, The food is the culinary equivalent of the garish«flaming eight-ball«graffiti mural outside. So if you are the type of person that is drawn to and enchanted by that kind of artistic statement, you’ll probably enjoy their food. I ordered the chicken burrito special. After waiting about 15 minutes(yes, there service sucks) I was handed a poorly wrapped and overpriced burrito. It was greasy and oozing what seemed to be nacho cheese. It tasted pretty much liked it look. No pallet whatsoever just some fried chunks of chicken smothered in toxic looking nacho cheese. The green chili was pretty hot but not in that flavorful way just in that«wow, this is hot!» kind of way. The tortilla was soggy and greasy. I was hungry enough to reluctantly eat half of it but figured it would be within my best interest to throw the other half away and spare myself the extra heartburn, extra gas and excess toilet time. I had a morbid curiosity to try this place, and I anticipated pretty much exactly what I experienced. I guess I was just hoping to prove myself wrong. It”s safe to say I will not be returning to Bubba Chino’s. As much as i like the idea of supporting a locally owned and operated business places like this make Chipolte a necessary evil.

Bubba Chino’s number??? There are so many Bubba Chino’s around, it’s hard to know which is good. I believe all the locations are independently owned, I could be mistaken. But that would explain why each location differs in taste and heat. My bf and I had a smothered chicken burrito and green chili fries from the Colfax location, and thought it was great. This location is much closer to us and thought it would be the same. We were very mistaken. We ordered the same thing, smothered chicken burrito and green chili fries. Our order wait time was a little longer than expected, but not a problem. A larger order had been placed before us. When we got home and began to dig in, we both realized how much spicier the green chili was from this location. We both don’t mind the heat(in most cases for my bf, the spicier the better) but this was an uncomfortable, loss of taste spicy. It was so spicy I wondered if the food tasted like anything else beneath the spicy. And unfortunately, although our burrito was quite heavy… it was only heavy from the large amount of filler, IE lots and lots of beans and flour… little chicken. Sad face. Overall, my green chili, smothered fries, craving was dashed and left me unsatisfied and an upset stomach. Bubba Chino’s #8, I probably won’t be coming back to your particular location, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the location on Colfax.

Bubba Chino’s is kind of hard to miss — excitingly yellow and graffiti’d, I was instantly intrigued. Took my sister and a bunch of friends here for her birthday(very budget friendly for someone treating out multiple people!), and was surprised to find the food was pretty tasty. The staff was very accommodating and offered complimentary chips and a free chili for spending over $ 40. Decorations were a definite plus — I really dug the vibe … VERY cool.

I live down the street from this place and finally decided to try it out. When I walked in, the place smelled, well, bad. Like a bathroom that’s just been used. I should have left right then! I ordered the special, a bean burrito smothered, with cheese, chips and a drink. A buck extra for a little cup of salsa. The beans were gluey and cold, but there were a lot of them! Their green chili IS hot, if that’s all you require from your green chili, but it was pasty, floury and otherwise flavorless, with two lonely little pieces of pork floating around on the styrofoam plate that the knife went right through. A bag of chips and a canned soda completed the meal. I had heard such good things about this chain and was looking forward to eating there, but really, if you can’t do better than a really, really bad taco truck, why bother? I wish I’d gone to my usual Mexican place down the street, where the chips and salsa are fresh and complimentary, and the beans actually taste like something.

Really cool paint on the outside of this location! This is their #8 location and they have cool Graffiti-like logos, flames and a nifty Eight-Ball painted on the façade. Maybe that’s why I was expecting better? Nothing wrong with the Green Chile-Smothered Steak Breakfast Burrito but for the $$ it just doesn’t add up para this Hombre. With all the Taquerias in this area– competition is good. The Green Chile is ok– not much flavour but still has a good amount of spice. Again– whats with the plasticware and foam container? $ 7 bucks is a little more than an aggressive price point. The clerk/cook was very helpful and friendly– he also explained that they do take a little bit longer to prepare the food because everything is cooked to order-including the steak. The food quality was good– but I left happily stuffed and somewhat let down and to the taste. Keep up the good work Bubba – I’ll be back to try some of their very famous Chile Cheese Fries next time.

I have never been so upset about wasting money. My bill was $ 5.06 for a smoothered bean burrito with cheese. The burrito was supposed to be green chili, however, I was given enchilada sauce topped off with what looked and tasted like cheez-it! I was better off going to the store, buying a can of Rosarita’s canned beans, a package of tortillas and ketchup. Next time you’re craving a burrito — go to Taco Bell.

To start off I loved the green chili here. I ordered my burrito extra hot($ 1charge) and it was spicy. I wasn’t really impressed with the burrito though. I ordered chicken and that is all that was inside the tortilla. No rice or beans which it could have used. The meat didn’t have much seasoning on it and there was SO much of it. So if you are a meat lover — these burritos are for you. I would go back but maybe try a veggie burrito with rice and beans instead of all that meat. And you have to get them smothered!

Don’t look for any idle chit-chat here. My lame attempt to make the staff smile when giving my order was greeted with a surly stare. However, the grilled breakfast burrito was *out of this world*. I’m glad I ordered my green chile on the side, because it was pretty hot for this gringo, but I couldn’t stop dipping my burrito in it. I’ll come back here again when I’m craving some yummy Mexican burrito goodness. Warning: the largest size of fountain drink will NOT fit into any car drink holder, including the one that is oversized in my Subaru.

This place just opened officially today. Formerly was Yung’s Chinese restaurant(also delicious). This is just Chubby’s rebadged and honestly, I found it to be BETTER quality Chubby’s than the original! Bigger portions, fresher-tasting. Awesome, delicious, fantastic gut-bombs. Technical difficulties with the cash register, but that’s excusable since they are just opening. Food was ready REALLY fast. Yum. Yum.
