Bar atmosphere so it’s fun with friends. Fried catfish is above par and so are the bacon wrapped shrimp. I will come back. It is accessible by boat. Some people bring their pets because the place allows them at the outside bar.

This place sucks. Food horrible, service slow and couldn’t remember our orders. Took 2 hours to get food. Took 45 minutes to get a bottled beer. Hope it closes

Great place for lunch on Lake Martin on a Saturday afternoon. Not too crowded, very attentive server, prompt service, and a great laid back atmosphere outside in the shade. Margaritas were good, though a bit salty, but raw oysters were excellent and the hamburger and the fresh fish sandwich were both excellent. Overall a very good experience. I’ll definitely go back.

Places to eat on Lake Martin are limited, but my husband and I decided to try Harbor Docks for the first time tonight. The wait wasn’t bad for a Friday night and we went to the bar to grab a drink while we waited. They were out of everything I wanted(e.g., strawberry margarita, watermelon margarita, mango Mai ti). I finally settled on a Bahama Mama which said it had run and vodka in it. Wasn’t a good combination of liquor a for me so I asked to hold the vodka. The bartender told me it actually doesn’t have vodka, but looked confused and had to look at the menu to see what I meant. The drink was good and we were sat. The menu here is very limited to on hamburger($ 1 extra for a slice of cheese), salads, a few entrees, and a couple special entrees(1 of which was no longer available-this seemed to be the theme of the night). We both ordered the fried shrimp entrée and it was pretty good. I gave such a low rating because of the limited menu of which much was unavailable, but the service was good and they had live music outside.

We have eaten at this restaurant almost every weekend this summer because it is on the lake. No more… After a ridiculous reason for making us wait to be seated and overcooked crab legs we complained and the owner told us we could eat somewhere else. We can and we will. We hope you go belly up this winter.

Lake Martin is a small, seasonal market so sometimes restaurants change from year to year. I can see where other reviewers might have been underwhelmed on prior years, but I must say that my experiences with Harbor Docks at Anchor Bay in 2010 was quite good. First, understand that it’s a waterfront restaurant near a Marina and boat storage. The restaurant was formerly called Castaway’s several years ago. Under the name of Harbor Docks, I found it to be really good. It’s certainly not fancy, but the atmosphere is great. Where else can you cruise up in the boat, put on flip flops, have a meal and a cold beverage while waterfront on Lake Martin? I think that going to these waterfront spots is one of the cool parts of the lake. You need to figure out where it is(on the end of Castaway island road, off of highway 229 on the south side of the lake, just west of Martin Dam) and make sure it’s on your to do list. As a local realtor I ate lunch there a lot, and I ate with a large(30) group, and the service was great. I stuck to pretty simple fare like the grilled chicken sandwich, and was not disappointed. At night they morph over to the bar /grill feel with acoustic guitar players, etc. Make sure you call ahead because they are usually closed all winter, but I highly recommend Harbor Docks.

Harbor Docks has your average bar food/comfort food. They have a rather small menu featuring salads, fried seafood, and burgers/sandwiches. I opted for the fried shrimp, which resulted in a dish that I could have probably got at the supermarket in the frozen section. If I had to do it over again, I’d probably go for a burger or the chopped chicken BBQ sandwich. On the plus side, the atmosphere is great. The outdoor seating is nice, and they have live entertainment. It was easy to dock our boat in front of the restaurant and walk up. If you’re looking somewhere to have a few beers and throw down some finger food, this is perfect.
