I live less than 10 mins from here and I’ll be honest, I haven’t written a review yet(despite being a regular for 4 yrs now) because I don’t want this place to get over run and get so busy that I won’t have a place to sit lol. No joke! The only bad thing about this place is that they closed for the winter! I eat here anywhere from 2 – 4 times/wk all through the summer. My wife loves it and our friends love it too. It’s definitely a hidden treasure! I have tried everything on their menu multiple times. I disagree with the one guy’s review when he said that LaPearla(another local Mexican restaurant) is better. LaPearla is good for sure but this place is just a notch above! They have incredibly fresh dishes. The meat is marinated and very juicy and flavorful. Their guacamole is freshly made to order and is incredible! Rice and beans are great! I usually get a ck burrito or taco. Their fajitas are incredible as well. My buddy always gets their tortas, which he loves, and are very filling! The people are very kind and helpful. Service is great! Every person that my wife and I take here ends up loving it and coming back. I guess I’ve kept this secret long enough and it’s time to let the world know about La Cabana and their incredible food! Maybe we can support them enough that they will stay busy enough to stay open during the winter, after the migrant workers leave! Enjoy!

I love the fresh salsa that comes out with a huge basket of homemade tortilla chips for every order! The burritos are good, as is the horchata. They also have sopas and true chalupas. The setting is basic but cheery, dressed up with traditional Mexican cut-paper banners and pictures. There is usually a telenovela playing on the TV. After eating, you can pick up some specialty Hispanic ingredients from the small grocery section.

Great food. Tasty guacamole, good chips and really good refried beans. Red and green hot sauces that are house-made are very good. Flautas were perfectly crisp and tasted great. Service was super friendly. I’m sorry this place is only open March through November. I will say that it beats LaPerla and my next meal here is already on my mind.

This is like being invite into a family’s kitchen! The food is fresh, as mentioned before, the portions are very generous, and the price is great! A(rather) hidden gem in relation to some of the larger towns makes it even better!

Went there after I noticed it on my drive up to Benton Harbor from Dowagiac. A co-worker and I usually get some mexican once a week from La Perla near Sisters Lakes which has to have the best buritto in SWMI. It was a rainy day and there is no place to sit at La Perla and I suggested that I seen this place in Eau Claire. So we hit it. When I walked in, I was happy to see mexicans eating. I came to the right place. There is places to sit. Fairly clean. You get chips with your meal. The buritto was as close to La Perla as one can be but still be your own. Authentic(none of this wet buritto stuff). There is no reason wny I would not go back.

Wife and I went there when visiting MI based on reviews we had read and daughter’s recommendation. Turns out, everyone was right! This is real Mexican food, not Taco Bell stuff. Go through the tables and to counter, place your order, and have a seat. Drinks are in cans or bottles, but all the major brands(both domestic and import) are available. Chicken Fajita was 9.99 and Enchilada dinner was 7.99. Either dinner would have been enough for 2 to share, so they DO have take-home boxes available. Drinks were about 60 cents for a Pepsi and under $ 1 for a Jarritos. Place is a BARGAIN as well as having delicious food. No downsides on this place, awesome food, fairly priced, etc. Only thing I could see a question about was who to tip, so left it on the table with the dishes when we were leaving. :D Will most certainly make this place a destination on future trips to MI.
