Awesome food, great bartender, a lot of beer choices. Will go back every time in Eau Claire.

The food was good but the service was great. I will be back for my short stay in the area. I took The Bourbon Pecan Pie to go. No room now but will. make room later. I really enjoyed having dinner on the outdoor patio. The weather was nice and the Peach Snaps hit the spot. Heather, my own personal waitress attention made the dinning experience wonderful. Tip well my friends Tip Well.

Best steak in town, went here for a birthday dinner and loved it. Would definitely go back if only for the steak. Tables are kinda crowded if a lot of people are there, they are bench style and you sit right next to other people eating, which can get kinda weird.

Went with some friends while we were visiting in town and ended up really disappointed. We sat down right away and had appetizers quickly, but proceeded to wait over an hour and a half to get our main course. The waitress didn’t return to fill our water glasses or ask if we wanted more drinks. We saw many people around us getting their food put into to-go boxes as soon as it came from the kitchen, and we ended up doing the same. We had a friend with us who had to work the next morning very early and wasn’t expecting to spend 2 hours at dinner, we ended up feeling terrible we kept her awake for pasta that was pretty bland. Just aren’t sure what we got spending over 100 dollars for 4 people. Service was bad, food was just ok. We won’t be returning.

Uh, the restaurant is confused. The prices do NOT reflect the service or quality. Overlooked proteins. Meh. Uncooked veggies. I have had better frozen veg out of a bag. Dessert? The ice cream was good. For the pricing I expect more. I live in Houston and these prices were high to me.(And I travel to metro cities like LA and NYC). I would suggest you go to Mona Lisa where the price reflects the quality of the food and ambiance.

Rosmary chicken: if you like burnt food get the rosemary chicken. If you like poorly steamed vegetables youd like stella blues. If you like one bite size portion of mashed potatoes, you’d LOVESTELLABLUES! If you enjoy overpaying for mediocre food, eating in the dark, and dry cornbread, rush on down to Stella blues. Friendly staff and fast seating.

I will give it two stars for the beer list. My chicken sandwich was pink and still frozen in the middle. Thank God I cut it in half before taking a bite. I returned it the kitchen. It wasn’t terrible once it was cooked. I did find it amusing that they call themselves a creole restaurant. There is no real Creole food on the entire menu. Hell they didn’t even have a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce in the house??? If your expectation is for a good bowl of gumbo, don’t come here.

This place needs help. To start things off, I’m greeted by someone behind the bar who seems to have never spoken to a human being before, forget the social skills required for bartending, or even greeting a stranger who walks into a restaurant. After an incredibly awkward exchange I finally get a beer and a dinner order placed. Their beer list is very good, I have to give them that. Also, someone with some social skills did end up taking over behind the bar. I ordered their New York strip steak which was $ 29. I ordered it medium, it came raw. Raw, and completely unseasoned. Also, the side of vegetables were steamed. There isn’t anything inherently wrong with this until you see that a good portion of the vegetables are actually red onions. Steamed red onions. They were basically raw, and I can still taste them. I sent the steak back and they put it back on the grill. It returned to me on the rare side of medium rare at best, but at least it was edible. Simply put their menu and pricing would suggest an establishment that would easily have the ability to execute a simple meal. Unfortunately, I was disappointed.

Had dinner last night with my colleagues. The gumbo was more like a stew than a soup, but it was made perfectly spicy just as I asked. The barley wine was good and there was a nice beer list. In short a great place to eat.

Gumbo good, crab cakes not. Excellent beer and mixed drink selection, but wine list could use some tweeking. You will not be assaulted by any TV noise or visual stimulation.

Sadly disappointed. I’ve been here before and the last time we ordered some of the pastas which were wonderful. I thought this time around it would be the same, but unfortunately the service and the food fell flat. Our drinks were great as well as our appetizer, but my blackened catfish, one of the nightly specials, was basically burnt. And yes, I have had blacked fish before and it’s one of my favorite ways of cooking fish. This had an over powering burnt charcoal flavor and the seasoning could not be tasted. The table next to me and my fiancé also had the blackened catfish and they also complained about how burnt it was. Our waiter offered to place a new order for me and I chose the fried catfish instead, which actually was great, although they only have me one piece when there was supposed to be two. My fiancé ordered one of the specialty burgers that had a beer cheese sauce on it and sadly the sauce was clumpy, gritty and there was just too much of it. Maybe they were just having an off night, but it really did not compare to the last time we were here. We’ll probably wait a while before coming back and give some other places a try instead.

I’m giving one star because of the Cajun title. This place is good but NOTCAJUN! No Louisiana hot sauce in the house. No crawdads. No alligator. This place is so un coonass its ridiculous. If your a yooper that’s just passing through and have never had real Cajun. You might be satisfied. To me it’s false advertisement. Hey if the owner needs se help, I can come over on a day off and help her out. Ok said my piece. Good day.

We enjoyed the great food and drink selection. Among the cheese curds we had, these were the best. A nice atmosphere for a date or small party. The food quality is good, but not worthy or 5 stars.

I have been to Stella’s four times and have yet to be let down. The food is really good and has just the right amount of kick to it. So many of the restaurants in the Eau Claire area are so stale. Burgers, chicken strips, mac & cheese, etc. and this is a nice change. The pricing is right in line with any other sit down restaurant. The parking is a bit funky, they have a lot but it’s a block or two away. Not a problem in the summer, but in cold Wisconsin winter it may be? The staff is always helpful, one time the hostess was a grouch, but they were busy and everyone has a bad day. I plan to go back several times!

Was very happy with our dinner and drinks at Stella Blues last night. My GF had the pork shank, I had the Sweet Bourbon Pasta. Yummy. Huge drink menu. Great atmosphere and good service from our waitress. The only thing that was weird was that the waitress brought us our check sooner than I would have expected. I would go here again without a doubt.

Why would anyone come to the same restaurant for 12 weeks in a row, and then come 2 nights in a row there last week in Eau Claire? Because this place is that AMAZING! BYFARTHEMOSTINCREDIBLERESTAURANTINEC!!! I tried a new place every night for weeks, but kept coming back to Stella every single week– I started every meal off with the kale salad– wow… And had a variety of menu items, every single one, with out fail, unbelievably great– Loved the beers and drinks too, awesome service– Everything you expect at a world class restaurant! My only wish is that it wasn’t so far from my home– I’m going to miss this place and it will be my 1st stop anytime I’m anywhere near EC. Oh yeah– the atmosphere is also 5-star — lighting perfect, not too noisy, and the building is absolutely beautiful… Must visit!

Great historic building. Always great beers on tap. The menu has some offerings that are unique to Eau Claire. Usually decent service, the manager could be more friendly. A good place for a beer after work or dinner with your honey or a group of friends. Reservations accepted but often not required except maybe Fri or Sat evening, when it is the busiest.

I’ve had 3-star meals here, but lately the kitchen has seemed really off. It’s just so inconsistent. The same dish will be radically different from night to night. I just think there’s not a lot of care or thought being put into the food. The Mogenson’s have a restaurant monopoly in Eau Claire, and I find the food at all their establishments startlingly average. It’s too bad, because I’ve heard new places really struggle to get a foothold because everyone’s been eating at Stella’s/Mona’s/Livery/Mogie’s for so long, we’ve convinced ourselves the food is good and there are no other options. With Stella’s, the menu is inventive but the execution is usually lacking. Recently, the kale salad I ordered first came out as a Caesar. Then it took ten minutes to correct this error, despite it being a dead Wednesday night. The kale salad that did arrive made me wish I had just eaten the Caesar — the kale was brown around the edges and not well-dressed, i.e. dressing and cheese were pooled under it as if the kale had been laid on top and then not tossed. I have had the bourbon pasta a number of times and sometimes it’s tasty and sometimes the sauce is watery and flavorless. Burger is really average and always med-well even if you ask for it rare or mid-rare. Sweet potato fries are probably the most consistently good item. All the other pastas I can make at home, better, and for less money. Salmon is usually decent, though nothing groundbreaking in terms of the preparation. At least they seem to be able to not overcook fish, which is saying something. I guess I shouldn’t hold Stella’s to big city restaurant standards, but I don’t know, it just seems like the food is lazy and with a few tweaks it could be a whole lot better.
