My dog, Hooch, hates a bath. He is a big baby when confronted with water. His coat is made for the cold mountain tops so GA summer crushes him. Each year, I dread the summer shave because I know how miserable he is going through it. In the past, when I pick him up, he’s embarrassed and hides for a day or so until he recovers from the abuse. This year, we took a family vaca to Oconee and Hooch was unable to cool off. We brought him into Harmony for the event. The place is pretty awesome, with a fountain pool for the dogs, outside, but he was there for grooming. When I picked him up, he looked fantastic. More incredible is that he had his head up high and a big dog smile on his face. I am not sure what they did differently, but he was in a down right jolly mood all afternoon and so very proud of his dog bone bandana. Just icing on the cake: the price was almost HALF what I pay in Atlanta. We are going make it a yearly ritual to bring Hooch to Harmony each summer. When boat season starts, we’ll drive our old dog 90 minutes from home for a haircut.
