Made reservations for my wife and I and when I called to add my son, the woman told me they can’t accommodate children. She then had the nerve to suggest I cancel my reservation. Unbelievable. NEVERAGAIN

Place is gorgeous. Food was outstanding. Great service. Highly recommend. Very fine dining establishment that treats you like family. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. Bread was incredibly fresh and hot out the oven. Soup was incredible. Both minestrone and shrimp lobster bisque were quite good. Ample portions for a good price.

Beautiful venue –crappy food. jerks run this place. Cheap wine sold as good wine. I can see the view from better places with better people.

This place is cute, cozy, and has a beautiful view of the bay. Definitely a romantic, intimate, setting with outstanding food and service. We ordered the lobster ravioli special which included scallops, shrimp, and mussels as well. Contrary from another Unilocaler’s review, our dish was fresh and tasty, although the ravioli was more of a «dumpling» with a thicker pasta shell. My pear martini was also a bit on the stronger side and tasted like pure vodka without any simple syrup. I guess it’s better than a weak drink though. Overall, I still enjoyed myself here and will be returning :)

The owners are chodes and are nasty. They dont know how to run a business and are bringing the place to the ground. I feel bad for anyone that has to work there and deal with these people. Go to hell

Delicious! Dinner with 6 adults, 2 kids. Everything was great. Service was good. Mixed bag of sea bass, shrimp, salmon entrees and not one complaint. Dessert was also a mix of everything on the menu. Very pleased. We had a beautiful view of the bay. I recommend.

I am surprised that there are negative reviews, I am not sure what people expect. I have been here multiple times between 2009 and the present. The only negative is that sometimes the lunch menu is limited… but, hello! That is how you get fresh, high quality food — when the chef focuses on less items. You can’t give the site negative reviews because they didn’t want to do your wedding the way you wanted(and you weren’t even a customer). The positives are: 1) the wine, I tried many types, am very picky when it comes to drinks, and I still never had one I didn’t like, 2) the food, I always loved the crab cakes, salads, and seafood I’ve gotten here, and 3) the location. Remember where you are. I grew up in East Moriches(the next town). Until circa 1997 when they started putting up mcmansions in nearby Manorville, this area was a rural area(still kind of is) and felt light-years away from NYC and the very nearby Hamptons. It felt like you were in the middle of nowhere, in an old fishing village. This restaurant is fine dining, and there are few places like it in most towns in the area, so to expect it have every single amenity a fine Manhattan restaurant will have is unrealistic, because there simply aren’t enough people in the area to support it. The locals are definitely happy to have this place.

Went to the venue to consider for wedding party. The owner is clueless of other competition. The place is beautiful but don’t expect much of service. He didn’t care on accommodating me at all. All he was telling me is the stuff I can’t do on wedding day instead of things he can do for me ! And at the end he told us we have to go & pay for our own dinner for a tasting… lmao. R u kidding me? Plus he wants 50% to hold the place CASH only …

Great view of the bay. I Was at a wedding there and they seemed to be a little unorganized. They were trying so «e» for effort. I think for a small affair this venue would be perfect

Nothing to Trumpet about here. My wife and I had lunch here yesterday. Trumpets has a lovely view across the bay to West Hampton beach and its adjacent inlet to the ocean. If what you desire is surly service, mediocrity and conformity then this is your place. Our waitress treated us as if we had disturbed her cigarette break. Wearing a chefs white frock does give an air of professionalism but not when you never smile. I had the lime shrimp. The greens looked like they were picked from a dumpster. The shrimp were dry and some were so rancid I could not eat them. Neither my wife or I finished our entrees. My wife’s salmon was served on a bed of canned white beans… Classy huh? How do places like this stay in business? I blame the public of Long Island. Demand more! Yes the bathroom was spotless! Filled with fake plants. Have a beer on the dock and look at the view but please do not dine here. Your mothers worst meal she ever served to you is a universe above Trumpet fare.

Awesome views and great food. I’ve always had a positive experience at Trumpets with service and food. The only negative is noise … it can get so loud it sometimes sounds like people are shouting. Ask to sit outside or out of the main dining area.

Positives: the view is very nice. Negatives: everything else. Corn and asparagus fritters had no asparagus or seasoning and were served with0 an awful olive oil dipping sauce. Crab cakes were just ok. Halibut entrée was unseasoned and the garlic flan was nauseating. The fried lobster risotto was the consistency of a hush puppy. The worst by far was the lobster and cheese pasta special with shrimp and scallops. The lobster was old and stale as was the cheese and had a sour taste. Neither I nor my dining partner finished our entrees and stopped to get food on the way home after spending $ 100 on dinner. Service: not good, once the entrees were dropped we were need checked back with. I would have gladly sent the lobster entrée back but my dining partner declined. Overall; I now understand why this place was so deserted — old ingredients, unseasoned food, and a lack of meeting the clients needs. I will never go back(even if someone else pays) I don’t think my stomach can handle it.

Had the fish and chips for lunch and the fish was very soggy and fishy tasting and they gave you 3 small pieces my friend only got 2 small pieces and told them to take it back. For the price I would not recommend this place. My girlfriends crab cakes were warm and the size of a quarter.

The views of the water are absolutely stunning on a beautiful day. I will give the food an 8 on a scale of 1 –10. Anytime i’ve been here the service has been good as well. The wine is definetly overpriced but that is probably my only complaint about Trumpets.

Far out east but just before Westhampton, in the small town of Easport. It was home to small farms, fishing and country houses over the years even a mill I see still in tact partly. Part of the town is filled with big old but updated victorian homes a few are converted to B & B’s and restaurants on South Bay Avenue, just heading south of Montauk Hwy until you reach the bay. Trumpets on the Bay is a beautiful location with nice windows to view the bay on the south side of the south fork. Trumpets btw refers to the trumpet swans in the area. This type of place is perfect for taking your aunt or mother. Sort of like an Inn etc. Food was good. Mushroom ravioli stuffed with eggplant in some herbed cream sauce with jumbo grilled shrimp on top… hm. I like creative. I had the lemon sole and scallops. Ceaser salad was common laced with dressing nothing exciting. Dessert was more berries then cake which is nice. Fred, our waiter and was a very hospitable host and all were friendly.

I’ve eaten at just about every restaurant in the area — this place was the best. . For the reviewers that say stuff like«the roast duck was just not as succulent as I’d prefer» please remember this: YOUAREINLONGISLAND, you are not reviewing a jean georges restaurant just off of central park… come back to earth please. . Excellent service, phenomenal views, food so much better than the average in that area that it’s unfair to compare against the other restaurants. If you want a manhattan-like meal in long island, you go here.

Long Island, with its pristine beaches and seasonal rentals, attracts a large summer crowd. And there are plenty of casual waterfront eateries that cater to this young crew, offering live music, flowing beer and fresh seafood. But we were looking for a more sophisticated waterfront option and so, on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we reserved a table at Trumpets on the Bay. It’s a little pricey but the décor, setting and clientele were all ideal and epitomized casual summer elegance. The service, too, was impeccable. The weather was a little damp and foggy that night(not unusual on the water) so we chose to dine inside by the window and had a great view of the boats coming into Trumpet’s dock. After relaxing with refreshing frozen lime daiquiris, we dug into fresh summer salads. They were tasty and beautifully presented but, quite frankly, a little boring and ordinary. The same can be said for the rack of lamb with French beans and roasted potatoes which was properly cooked but bland and under-seasoned. And so, too, was a rather Flintstone sized veal porterhouse with mushrooms. We will say, however, that the accompanying potato croquette was spectacular. There were plenty of dessert options on offer but we chose to skip them since we knew we had pie and ice cream waiting for us at home. Overall, we had a lovely evening in a delightful setting. But we always ask ourselves if the food merits a return visit. In this case, we’ll probably continue exploring the waterfront options on the island before returning to Trumpets.

Ambiance is very romantic, perfect spot for a date with a gorgeous view of the ocean! Hostess was rude and only offered us a table outside when we called to make reservations, which was weird b/c when we arrived, there were PLENTY of empty tables inside so we requested to sit inside. I mean, who in the world would want to sit outside in the misty/rainy weather to eat a nice meal??? Food is only mediocre. For the price, $ 30 for a 3 course meal is a great deal but the food was only average and was a slight disappointment from all great reviews I read beforehand. The filet Mignon did not look like a filet mignon. it was more like a beef tenderloin and there wasn’t a nice crust on the outside of the steak like I expected but they did hit the medium– rare on the dot. The stuffed crab cake in philo dough was a bit too creamy and rich for my taste. The crab was all mixed together and I tasted only the cheese for the most part and I really had to search for the crab. The watermelon salad was large for an appetizer and even though I didn’t try it, it certainly looked quite tasty. The rice pudding was good but again, the food is only average. WIthout the fixed price menu, would I pay over $ 25 for an entrée? mehhh… I highly doubt it. The great thing is that they have fixed menus everyday except for Saturdays and they change up the menus daily. ** Although the food was mediocre, I have to say that my table of 3 was given 10-star service by our amazing waiter, Taylor(or Timothy)!**
