My girlfriend and I stopped in here on our way to the Poconos. We had their soup specials(carrot ginger & mushroom Italian) and shared an Apple Turkey Cheddar Melt Sandwich. I enjoyed a local beer from Weyerbacher called the Blithering Idiot. The food soups were tasty and rich in flavor. The sandwich they split for us was plenty for us both. The beer was really good also. I loved the look of the place. Classic rustic look with art from a local artist named Beth Brader. They have over 4,000 pewter mugs hanging from the ceiling. Our waiter told us if you drink 60 of the beers on the list they celebrate with triangle bell, engrave your name on the mug and hang it on the ceiling. Our waiter Ryan he was great. The soup and beer came right away as well as the main dish. The food was fresh and plentiful. There were fresh flowers on the table. The bathroom’s were definitely old pup standard but clean. This place was a great pitstop for us and possibly a great hang out for the live music offered late at night.

Drove almost two hours there based on reviews and the reasonably priced menu. What a disappointment!!! Our server was good, the place is quaint but the food was horrible. No taste, no seasoning, not even a dash of salt. Worst yet was the fact that they don’t fry anything so we couldn’t even get fries for our sandwiches, kids couldn’t get the obvious chicken fingers, grilled cheese was one of the offerings but no choice of bread and when it came out was burned. Lemonade is fresh made but apparently the container it was made in had not been properly cleaned so it had a greasy taste. Those went back but still appeared on the bill. Not one of a party if twelve was able to consume their meal. This is the third time Unilocal has failed me!!! In turn I felt horrible that I dragged our kids and their kids all the way there and it was such a fail…

Service was not good… Jambalaya, I have to say, tooooooooo spicy! Though I have been used to Sichuan food, which is famous for its spice, I still found the Jambalaya too spicy!

Each time the food is always tasty. I normally order from their daily specials. The staff is very friendly and attentive. A favorite place to go for us when we are in the area.

The Nachos are amazing!!! I ate them before I could take a picture! Sorry!!! The service was not great! They didn’t check on us. Or didn’t say goodbye as we left. Maybe we are spoiled because we are from Northern Va.

Not much to look at from the outside. It’s about 1 mile up from the circle on a corner and you street park. Cool look inside with stone walls in the table area and pewter mugs hanging from the ceiling. My guy took me out to celebrate a new job so I had the recommended crab cakes and they were super! The presentation was a surprise to me — so elegant. I had a house red and then chardonnay both delightful as was our attentive waiter. My guy had cheese steak and beer and as I glimpsed the menu I saw the pricing was moderate. This place is cosy; romantic but definitely fun. Quite a mix of people on our night which I always like and they have a tiny stage — we were treated to a duo singing modified reggae favorites. I really am looking forward to going back.

First time here. Bartenders are fantastic. Engaing and helpful. We had the nachos and they were very good. The vibe is upbeat. The clientele is mix with the young and mature. Conversations flowed all around. Really nice place to relax and drink some great beer! Mug club is free!

One of my boyfriend and my favorite places. The beer selection is great and even better, there’s an incentive to drink it with their mug club. The food is also delicious. The service here is also amazing. There isn’t a whole lot of space so it feels tight more than often, but I personally like a nice, cozy place. The whole vibe is rustic so I find the small space to be part of the charm. If you like tasty food, a good drink, and awesome bartenders this is the place for you!

This place is awesome! I’ve been looking for a cool bar with good wings and this place has awesome wings! They are grilled and not fried and you can really taste the difference and smell the aroma. The entire place is a bit small as far as seating area and bar buy it is cozy. I was here on a Monday evening and it was busy but not packed. If this were a Friday or Saturday evening, it may become a problem. Other patrons were telling me the food is delicious here but I cannot confirm except for the wings. A dozen wings was $ 11. If you ask for the hot sauce, it is very very hot. I eat spicy food all the time so if it’s very hot to me, it may be very hot for you. It does not look like a red buffalo sauce. I had to ask for the medium sauce to dip in, which looked like the regular red sauce. The bartender was very nice and the food was also brought out in a timely fashion. The bartender was also tentative with drinks. They have a wide selection of beer. All in all, I will definitely be coming back here and would also recommend you giving this place a try. One downfall is the parking. It’s street parking only.

A great cozy little pub that serves locally sourced, delicious food. It’s a perfect place to grab a pint and good meal. I would stop in more frequently if I lived closer!

ONE word, NINE letters… COWABUNGA! That’s how I feel every time I walk into this joint! I’ve been packin on the pounds like you wouldn’t believe, so I snuck away to this place while the old ball and chain was at zumba. That old gal of mine isn’t comfortable with me goin’ out to eat anymore on account of my expensive appetite and wandering eye. Anywho, the beer list at this joint is more than deserving of a delicious stanley R. certified WHAMMY! So much to choose from, I felt justified in ordering 4 on a Sunday afternoon!(Don’t worry, I picked the old gal up from zumba in an über) On to the tasty, delicious, delectable, savory, sweet, rock and roll food! I started with the lobster mac and cheese and I could have sworn the lobster came right out of the sea and to my plate. MMM cheesy fish! Next up was the surf and turf! I couldn’t get enough haha! What a place. I miss goin to the beach. As a pretty seasoned(haha) food critic, I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. It’s very cozy, they frequently have live music(not much space for dancing, but I did anyway lol) and it is just downright exotically cool in there. If you miss out on the place, well then you miss out on an evening of stanley r’s certified whammy!

I’ve eaten for years, and I’ve never had anything that wasn’t as delicious as the menu portrayed. Great comfortable atmosphere with exposed brick walls, antique furniture, live music in the evenings. This place attracts a diverse yet pretty upscale crowd, a bit surprising because it’s a few blocks west of the Historic District. The food/service draws people in all day long. Today outstanding homemade split pea soup and some great sandwiches for lunch. Top notch beer selection, and warm friendly genuine service.

Great choice of beers, both tap and bottle. Full bar with a great selection of bourbon and scotch. Jalapeño crab dip is solid. Spinach artichoke dip solid. Steamed beer broth clams — over cooked Bartender recommended«perfectly balanced» jalapeño chicken wings — inedible they are so hot. And I love spicy food. I think the bartender recommended on purpose because he was a jerk all night. A different waiter confessed no one orders them they are so stupid hot. And they were mush, not a hint of crispy. And the live music last Friday was so God awful, we couldn’t get out fast enough. Seriously, I have never been in a live music bar where everyone was booing as they filed out of that place. Sure, sometimes they aren’t that talented, but you can put up with it. The manger must have been blackmailed by these guys or simply didn’t bother to vet them. Ridiculous. I gathered locals adore this place. I can see the potential, but it stunk on multiple levels last Friday.

What a great little pub!!! Driving back to NE and stopped off the highway for a bite. Found Porters on the corner and loved the food! The scallop bruschetta was delicious, sandwiches were flavorful and good portions. Wonderful fluffy couscous. Great friendly service. Just wish I wasn’t driving so I could partake in a brew or two. Wish I had a porters near me.

I was excited to go here based on the reviews, but I don’t really think it was worth the hype. As far as local spots go I prefer Two Rivers but anyway… We went around 6:30pm, the bar was all full but we were able to get a tiny table in the corner. Service was pretty slow and I noticed it’s a very chatty bar– the waiters stopping frequently to visit the regulars but everyone else was delayed. Don’t get me wrong, they were all friendly it’s just got a laid back slow paced Cali vibe. We got a few appetizers — the wings were okay but if you don’t eat them immediate the sauce gets thick and weird. The nachos were alright, the drunken clams were really good. We got sandwiches under the pub fare section — the corned beef and chicken Tuscano and they were both pretty good. My boyfriend loves the Mug club and extensive beer menu. The bartenders and servers were all really knowledgable about their beers and knew the list by heart. I don’t really know what to say except if you’re looking for a laid back night where you don’t want to get dressed up, want pub food and a bar filled of local regulars this is your spot. There are no TVs which is fine but surprises people. I’m sure we will be back, just not my favorite place.

After coming to this place for almost 2 years I’m still constantly amazed at the quality of food this place puts out. Their specials are always unique and mindbogglingly delicious. The customer service is great and everyone who works here seems to love Porters just as much as the patrons who swear their allegiance to it. More importantly, they know their stuff when it comes to the extensive beer list… They always help me find the perfect beer. I love this place and I’ll be coming here for the rest of my life… No doubt about it.

Outstanding. Had beer and appetizers and left with 4 bottles of my favorite beer(that is SO hard to find). The lobster Mac n cheese is perfection. Perfectly cooked pasta, just enough sauce, and a wonderful flavor. Only thing that would make it better is more lobster. But everything else was beyond what I expected when I walked in. I hope to visit there again soon!

Was asked to go with friends that are trying to earn their mug. Inside really great and with mugs hanging. Upon arrival placed order for drink… and waited… and waited. The place was empty. They had already had their drinks so I was the orphan. After asking twice it was delivered with a tap on the shoulder and blamed someone else. The burger was just ok. Closed out the check and one of the ladies wanted one more glass of wine. I asked how much and he said $ 6.00 so I pulled a $ 10. Bill out and layer on the table, please remember I had already tipped nicely for dinner for three. He took the $ 10 and vanished. A $ 4.00 tip for a glass of wine, really? For inside appearance a five star. For our waiter and service a zero star. Thus the two star!
