We ate here for lunch today and this place is not a three-star restaurant. Everything was excellent and the service was superb. The seared Ahi, Chesapeake Gumbo, and shrimp appetizer were excellent. I do not know how this place got soul over and use but it is great.

Severely underrated. I understand that the restaurant is under new management which may explain some older poor reviews. We ate here today for the first time after all of our other choices were closed for the holiday. Everything was fantastic and served very quickly given how busy they are. The Ahi tuna is highly recommended and the rockfish and chips was also tasty. The Pinot Gris on the menu was a good pairing to our meal at a good price point($ 40). We’ll be back!

Excellent food. Service struggles. Great beer selection. The bar could not handle simple mixed drinks. Get the lobster tempura, lavash pizza, any of the soups, brunch. The inn is also pretty nice and convenient to Avalon Theater, downtown shopping. They just remodeled and re-opened after some downtime for construction. Hope they work out the kinks with the service.

I had heard rave reviews and was excited. I will not be back again because of the food! The waitress was great. The crab pizza was the dryest most flavorless thing I’ve ever tasted ! So disappointing! And the crab was rubbery Than I had the steak frites with Caesar, the Caesar was fine typical Caesar no complaints, the fries, well for a$ 20 dish I was expecting hand cut house made fries, my mistake, they were just your regular frozen variety and a little over done the steak which I had ordered medium came out completely well done not even any pink let alone«hot pink center» ! Reluctantly we sent it back, as someone whose been in the business for ten plus years I did not want to do this but the steak was dry, the waitress was very polite and apologetic. When the second steak came out however it was raw in the middle, I would say Pittsburgh rare, as if the chef was mad two of us at the table even sent r well done, I mean«medium«steaks bad so he thought if he gave us completely brown in the middle steak and we didn’t like it than we must want it just seared on the grill for a second so it was still bleeding in the middle… on the contrary sir I am not a fan of steak tartare! Oh well let me know when they get a new chef and I will come back for another try!

The food and service at Hunters’ is great. The crab artichoke dip, calamari and shrimp basket, and ahi tuna to start were all delicious. They offer a «Lite Fare» menu with smaller servings of the regular menu, which is nice. Those items are a great portion(and probably still too much).

Great service and delicious food. The cream of crab soup was the best I’ve had. Love the outside dining area with the fireplace!

Went here on New Year’s Eve with my girlfriend and her parents. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had dining at a non-chain. We had to wait for our reserved table even though we were ten-fifteen minutes late. We had called ahead to let them know we were on the way. Server was trying to be friendly but just seemed unprofessional in the process. Also failed to come check on us very often. We requested a window table near the bar– the table was very small, and was in a recess by the window at the end of the bar. Because of the placement of the table, moving the end chairs in and out was an impossibility, and moving the chairs so they could be moved resulted in hitting either the person sitting at the end if the bar, or the person at the table behind. Beer selection of one local IPA, Sam Adams, Stella Artois, and Shock Top… The place is marketed as a «tavern» and is supposedly fine dining, but has a worse beer selection than Applebees or Chilis. There was a tv at the bar, and for the first hour there they were showing college football bowl games. Around 8:30 the bartender put on CNN without sound or closed captions. By 9 nobody was at the bar and no tables were watching TV. I asked that the college football be put back on but the bartender rudely said no, because CNN would be showing Easton’s First Night celebrations. In the rest of our time there they broadcast a year in review special and never showed Easton. The food– I ordered a surf and turf that hadn’t petit filet and crab cake. The crab cake tasted like artificial crab meat(def wasn’t local that had been preserved for winter). The petit filet was ordered medium but served as charcoal. My potatoes were cold and dry. My cream if crab soup was better, but not great. Girlfriend ordered a baked Brie appetizer. She was served a lukewarm round of cheese lacking a pastry that surely had not been baked. Her entrée(a chicken topped pasta) had flavorless poultry and bitter sauce. She didn’t eat the meal. Her father also did not eat his. Her mom was satisfied but far from impressed.

ATMOSPHERE: SUPERB FOOD: SUPERB SERVICE: SUPERB Stopped in on the way to a couple days in St. Michaels for my Dates Birthday. I’m GLAD I DID! SHE’S GLAD I DID! Located in the Historic Tidewater Inn, This restaurant,(in my opinion, not a tavern), is definitely a 5 Star Establishment without the STUFFINESS! Seated near a window looking out at the town over their brick patio with actual working fireplaces! Elegantly Styled restaurant that Screams«CLASS». The Friendly Hostess seated us immediately. The Server was Excellent, and immediately welcomed us and took our drink order. Their«Bloody Mary» Was the Special Drink. Boy was it delicious, topped off with a Crab Claw, and Rimmed with A NONOVERPOWERING Seafood Spice. We Started with their Cream Crab Bisque. A Delicious, Creamy Bisque Loaded with Lump Crab, with a delicately balanced mix of Crab, Cream, Sherry & Butter. In my opinion, the Best I’ve Had! Then, a half dozen of their Local Oysters on the Half Shell. Plump, Juicy, with a mild hint of the Sea. Their Cocktail Sauce was great! I believe, I had the BEST«SHRIMP&GRITS» Ever! Maybe Even Better than Mine, Just Kidding. DELICIOUS Stone Ground Grits, Salt Pork, Creamy Sauce with Bell Peppers & Jumbo Shrimp. ABSOLUTEHEAVEN!!! My Date ENJOYED The«CRABOMELETE». Not Known To the Area I Live in, This Omelet was Light and Fluffy on the inside, FILLED, with LUMPCRABMEAT, with a Sauce Similar, if NOT, The Crab Bisque gently sleeping on top. The Potatoes were full of Flavor, not Greasy, and everyone was eaten. This is RARE for most restaurants that I’ve dined in. FRESHFRUITCUP with RIPE, not«HARDERTHANWOODPECKERLIPS» MELON, STRAWBERRY, CANTELOUPE, and PINEAPPLE. Next two a FRESHLYBAKEDBLUEBERRYMUFFIN with REALBLUEBERRIES, not a commercially baked muffin reeking of preservatives. This is a truly classy restaurant. I cannot wait to go back, maybe stay at the Tidewater Inn, shop the town, Drink at «Bannings Pub» across the street, before attending a show at the«AVALONTHEATER» all across the street! THISISONMYHAVETODOSOONBUCKETLIST! Can’t wait for Dinner! YOUWILLENJOY!!! CHEFGARYCURRY!

Just ate here with my parents and we ordered their soft shell crab BLT and my dad got the tempura soft shell crab. It was amazing. Definitely exceeded my expectations after reading the previous reviews. Well worth the price. I would stop here again when I’m back in the area

As a local, thought we’d give this a try for lunch although we have some other local favorites. General impressions were over-priced, average food and poor training of staff. I got a Shrimp BLT. Not what I expected. Three large shrimp with bacon wrapped around them. Undercooked shrimp and bacon doused in bbq sauce on a bun. Impossible to eat as a sandwich. Another in our party asked if the reuben could be served with turkey. There was long silence from the waitress and she said she ‘guessed’ she could check. Other person had cream of crab soup and nut and berry salad which was good. Waitress never confirmed that a turkey reuben was doable but it did come. Water was never refilled until we had already finished. You could do better for lunch on the patio at Mason’s or across the corner at Banning’s. Heck, I think the hospital cafeteria is better than this place. I think this place could benefit from better training of staff.

I’m happy to pay lot when I go out to eat. But I expect excellent food when I pay high prices. I paid high prices here and I didn’t get what I normally expect. Too bad. People are nice.

The service was great, staff is really nice and very attentive. That’s about all I can say for the positives about this restaurant. The food just wasn’t good. I had the crab dip appetizer and it was so thick and creamy it kind of made me sick. I could not even taste crab, it was like eating hot mayonnaise. My wife had the BLT sandwich, which was served on a cold kaiser roll. It was dry and bland. I would not eat here again but the staff is really great.

Try the homemade potato chips… best I ever had. Good selection of beer on tap. Good atmosphere. Great blackened tuna sandwich. Crab cake sandwich was a bit bland. Great place for lunch!

We took guests with us for our first visit to lunch. They said they enjoyed their food and they ate heartily. I found my salmon entrée to be of mediocre flavor. I had indigestion for many hours afterwards. I think it was a spice and the fat content that did not agree with me. My husband had a burger and said that it wasn’t anything special. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, which we appreciated. Would I go back? Probably not.
