As good as advertised for kids. We went there with our 1&4 year old kids in January 2013& had a great time. The tents were perfect for letting the little ones warm up. There were also drying racks on the stoves for wet hats, mittens & gloves. We brought red beans & rice which we cooked on the stove top. Great family outing with little kids. Unfortunately, snowfall in the Cascades in January has been light the last 2 years so we haven’t gone since but I would heartily recommend it if there is adequate snow. Warm & inviting atmosphere.

I have been taking my family to Happy Trails for sledding and a sleigh ride since they were babies. Just got back from our New Years Eve trip and Jack Price continues to make us feel like family. From the two horse sleigh taking us on a ride to the sledding hill, to the huge tents with pot belly stoves keeping us warm and Gabby keeping us entertained, its always a great family day at Happy Jacks! Can’t recommend this place enough — its like a place out of time.

One of my favorite places to ride with beautiful scenery and good horses. Jack is a really neat guy too.

Happy Jack Happy Trails! My boyfriend booked a two hour trail ride with Jack for a weekend trip we took to Roslyn. He said there were outfits that were a bit cheaper(we paid $ 60 a person for two or so hours of trail riding plus a lesson before and the ability to help feed and remove the saddles after). But he also said that Jack was just so excited to have us, and share the experience with us, that he chose Happy Trails. It was worth it! The ride was amazing! He takes you into the mountains, over AND through rivers. The views were Spectacular. And, as city people, it was wonderful to be in the middle of nowhere, with the only noises being the distant river, the wind, and the birds and various woodland creatures. Jack, after 36 years, has some amazing stories and knows how to work with riders of all ages, abilities, and comfort levels. It was a truly great experience. We would recommend anyone interested in lessons, short rides, or day-long rides, contact Jack at Happy Trails. It was a day I will never forget.

I’ve been riding a lot and my husband has never been. So we wanted to do a trip together, but we weren’t sure if it would be so mellow a ride that I would be bored or too tough for my husband. It was perfect. He gave my husband a lesson about how to approach the horse and taught him how to ride right there. The trails were so beautiful that I didn’t care if it was easy or not. We stopped at a stream and had lunch. It was absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had on a horse. Our horses were well behaved and well taken care of. Jack was willing to take us where we wanted to go and made us feel so comfortable. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to ANYONE! We did a half day ride. Totally worth it!!!

We took our almost 5 year old and 2 year old sledidng here this weekend and they had a blast! Happy Jack is a bit of a character who clearly loves his job. He met our group in a horse drawn sleigh for the brief ride to the sledding hill. Our group had a one of several heated tents with picnic tables to relax in, and the staff has fires set up outside to warm yourself. Porta potties were avaialbe though they could have used a cleaning. I was expecting a huge hill but it was not that big, however it was perfect for my kids. Not too big to be scary, and small enough that they could sled down then walk back up themselves. I was expecting to be hauling sleds up and down the hill all day so this was a huge relief. I can’t speak for the horseback riding in the summer but I would return for sledding again.
