Champ’s Corner is your«run of the mill» sports bar with one special element, that the«Easton Assassin» Larry Holmes owns the place. The building itself has his belts and other boxing memorabilia on display, and you might even get a chance to meet the champ and get a picture with him. The place is relatively large in size with an open floor plan and includes a dance floor for if they have a DJ. Drink service was OK here, but my perception while visiting was that this is more of a «shot and a beer» type of bar. Your best bet is simple mixed drinks or something from the tap. They have typical bar fare on their menu: sandwiches, wings, fried foods. Being gluten free, I couldn’t eat here since all of their options include breading of one form or another or almost certainly are prepared in a shared fryer. The staff is friendly and the venue is a nice tribute to Larry Holmes’ successes as a boxer. Champ’s Corner also gives you an opportunity to meet a charismatic and friendly boxing celebrity.

Went here for dinner. The view was wonderful. The building is situated in front of a beautiful waterfall. There is park just accross the street and it was a perfect summer day. As we entered the bar there is boxing memoribilia everywhere. If you are a boxing fan like I am it is a wonderland of signed photos, World champion boxing belts and memoribilia. We had the buffalo wings. They were plentiful and very tasty. The ribs were outrageously delicious. The were meaty and succulent with just the right aount of barbecue sauce. The beer was cold and frosty on this hot summer day. The Champ was there. He came over to our table and was the perfect host. He asked us about our meal. He was gracious with his time and was willing to regale us with stories about his life and boxing in general. He was entertaining and very personable. I plan on returning again it was a highly enjoyable experience and treat.

The food was great the atmosphere was really friendly. I had the Champ wings after hearing Mike Tyson brag about them so. And Mike was right absolutely right… the best wings I have ever tasted. To go to Easton and not stop my Champ’s Corner for some Champ wings, I believe is illegal, lol. Or at least it should be. Maybe you will also have the opportuinity to meet Larry Holmes while there like I did. Great guy real down to earth and full of laughter and he certainly doesn’t mind posing for the camera.

I should first point out that I have no interest in boxing, nor did I know who Larry Holmes was, until I moved to the area. We went to dinner here a few months ago, thinking the view would be nice on what was an unseasonably warm Spring day. There is plenty of parking, without having to worry about feeding meters. The wings were some of the smallest I’ve ever seen. We were joking that they must have come from pigeons. If you spend $ 8 for wings, you’d expect to get a little meat. She had the turkey club, which she described as slimy turkey on stale bread. I had the«Champ Burger» which was two greasy patties, cheese, LTO, with a pickle and pepper on the side. For $ 14, I was pretty disappointed. The«Champ» was present, and came over to our table to see how things were going, which seemed like a nice touch, until he made my «lady friend» uncomfortable. She made some excuse to go to the restroom so she could get out of the situation. With all the great dining options in Easton, there is absolutely no reason to go here, unless you are a boxing fan.
