Woman that answers the phone is a BEAST. Every single time she answers the phone, she has a hair across her ass. Me: «Hi there, do you happen to have a time available for Sunday?» Office babe: «Nope!» Nope? Usually they offer another day, or a wait list. I used to treat myself once or twice a month. I’m sick of this chick. Later days Massage School.

I received one of the best massages of my life here. Truly amazing. I knocked off a star because I felt slightly uncomfortable with the extremes lack of privacy, but for a $ 30(not including tip) massage, it was worth it.

AMAZING(the massage clinic, that is — I’ve not attended the school)! I’ve gotten a number of professional massages over the years, and the massage clinic has consistently provided the best ones(I’ve been probably 4 or 5 times now) — and the cheapest! $ 30 for an hour is a steal. The students are professional, warm, sensitive to the client’s needs and requests, and very skilled & thorough. The staff are equally great, and the environment is tranquil. No frills, but none needed. I like this style better than some uppity spa. The group massage room may intimidate some people, but you’re always covered up and once you’re on the table, it’s just you and the masseuse. I kind of like the communal feel, personally.

I experienced the worst customer service and the lowest level of professionalism ever in my life trying to deal with this school. They cancelled on me twice, when I had reschedule my entire day around the appointment. Once because the student«hurt her knee» and the second time when they were supposed to be making up for their error they called me 2 hours before the appointment and said the student«had gotten into a car crash». When I told her this was the second time this had happened she told me very rudely that«she can’t control car accidents». They also called me on a sunday and told me that I had an appointment there when I didn’t, I never would have the made the appointment for a sunday because I am not in the area and she very rudely told me that I was wrong and that the appointment was at an unusual time and that basically I had to be lying! I told her that the school had actually cancelled on me and rescheduled me for the following wednesday and she disagreed with me again until she saw my real appointment in the book at which point she never apologized. At this point I was so fed up and had such a bad experience with the school that free massage or not I was never going to set foot in there! I went to Smith College and am now a law student in Massachusetts and I plan on telling everyone i know the terrible service i received at the massage school.

I travel for business. A lot. I’ve had massages all over the world, and the students here deliver massages equal to or better than the best I’ve experienced in my travels. I’ve tried many of the students, as I try to go weekly if I’m in town. As you would expect it can be a mixed bag, but I can’t remember receiving one bad massage here. And some of them are amazing! When I find one I like a lot I stick with them for a while. Apparently they raised their prices to $ 30 a few years ago, but I think it’s still the best buy in town.

The other reviewer raved — maybe he was lucky, and the student was naturally gifted or it was the end of the semester — but I’ve given the student clinic several tries over the past few years, and I can’t recommend it. Yes, it’s cheap. Everyone is really nice, and really sincere. Their schedule is accommodating. But that’s it – the massages themselves bear the hallmarks of students who haven’t really mustered the nuances of pressure /flow /anatomy. Their intentions are great, but for affordable massages, try the Back Stop at Thorne’s or the low income clinic at Indigo Massage.

I can’t comment on The Massage School as a massage school, but I can comment on their massage clinic. I went to the massage school clinic for the first time this past Sunday. Twenty-five(25) dollars gets you an hour long massage by one of the students. The student(Jamie) giving my massage provided me with the best massage I’ve ever had, which was a bit shocking, since I’m used to paying over a hundred dollars for a comparable amount of time on the table at a Spa. She was able to identify tight or painful points in my back with uncanny accuracy and did a fantastic job of fixing them. I also appreciate the amount of attention paid to my legs. As an athlete who focuses on strength skills and explosive movements, I thoroughly abuse the muscles of my legs. It was refreshing to have a masseuse who understood that. The main drawback is the limited openings and hours, but since the clinic exists primarily to provide students with an opportunity to practice, this is understandable. Another point to note is that the massage takes place in a large room with several other tables set up. The staff does an excellent job maintain your privacy, If you’re uncomfortable with being largely unclothed around a large number of strangers, this should be a consideration.
