Im not reveiwing his plumbing practices but his billing practice. He was in my house for 20 minutes and repaired a pinhole leak in a pipe. The part was $ 10. As he was leaving he told me that he was going to charge me an hour and half in LABOR rate for his time because he had to travel from Wareham to Rochester, a 15 min drive one way. The labor charge was $ 88.33 per hour. I know he needs to make a profit for his skill and time and I would have gladly paid a reasonable travel charge but I think its gouging to charge a customer a 1.5 hours of labor rate for travel, when the job was completed in 20 minutes.

Recently had a minor emergency (no cold water in kitch or bath). I called 4 plumbers he was one of 2 that actually called back. He came out within 20 minutes and fixed the problem (replaced bad valve). Very reasonable, fast and honest. he could have charged me double and I would have thought it was fine. (Hope you don’t read this Mr. Fihlman!).
