Our troop just attended summer camp at Resica Falls July 26-Aug 1, 2015. Very impressed with their Merit Badge program, with the dining hall and the awesome pool. The lake is a 1 mile hike uphill, at the top of mountain or a quick car ride. Sign the boys up to race in dragon boats on the lake. There are a couple of spectacular natural water holes where the boys can jump from either a 6 ft high or 20 ft high into crystal clear mountain water. Only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is due to each campsite’s toilets/latrines. Ours was absolutely disgusting. The smell of ammonia from the urine could be compared to waving smelling salts in your face. Hopefully they correct this. Otherwise, awesome experience…

So glad to hear things still going well at Resica Falls. I attended with two different troops in the late 1960’s. Troop 430 media pa and troop 301 Swarthmore pa. What a wonderful experience every time. We participated in camp Olympics and did fairly well. Obtained several merit badges each time. Chances for advancement were plentiful and well facilitated. We actually watched the first moon walk in a tent on a small black and white set powered by a car battery. A huge storm threatened to wash away a suspension bridge built by explorers across the bushkill. A couple scouts went out on the bridge and were trapped and had to be rescued. An Eagle Scout going for palms and I(earning life) did conservation of natural resources merit badge by building a path down the side of the mountain. I doubt if it’s still there. Order of the arrow induction was a really big deal, and I will always be proud of that moment. WWW forever. I actually know what the words are. Dave r

Our troop attended summer camp at Resica Falls in July, 2013. We were lucky that the weather was cooperative and bugs were mostly well-behaved. Check-in procedures were fast. The campsites facilities were fine — particularly the latrines were clean and not obnoxious/noxious. The Unami Lodge(office), Dining Hall, Swimming Pool and Trading Post were excellent. Food was much better than expected, tasty, plentiful and with a good variety. The salad bar was exceptional and fresh each night. Dining Hall was crowded and hard to maneuver in, but we accommodated. Everyone liked the slushees at the trading post. Programs were generally good, more emphasis should be placed on making sure Scouts can get between venues during merit badge selection.(Hard to get from Indian Village to Handicrafts in 10 minutes!) Need some ice machines for hot Scouts to refill water bottles — water available everywhere, but only 7lb bags ice available at Trading Post which is too much when you only want a water bottle’s worth. According to reports I received from my Scouts the counselors manning the program stations could be more patient and push the guys to finish more badges; the self-motivated Scout was rewarded here, but the need-to-be-nudged Scouts didn’t get much assistance. In all, a good experience, and with a few small tweaks, we’d be enthusiastic about returning.
