AND now that the house has finally settled in, I am able to report even more findings. I had to replace the ventilation due to LTS using the cheapest material possible. As in they used the material that allows for mold growth in the ventilation… mold… in the ventilation. The master bath has a leak and my garage ceiling now has a huge hole in it. So that means that I cannot use my bathtub. The cabinets are falling apart in the kitchen, despite upgrading them. …There’s a bunch of stuff wrong with the house, but I’ll make it simple. Don’t buy from them. Over half of the development that LTS has built is now abandoned. People have just walked away from their houses. Don’t buy from them.

I would do further research on LTS Homes. They have not been in business for 36 years as they say in their advertising. According to the Pennsylvania Department of the State, LTS Homes has only been licensed since September 21, 2012. ;

LTS is a great builder, the construction is done the way it should be. The sales rep, head of sales and construction foreman are helpful, friendly, and gracious. I just bought a new four bedroom house with large basement from them, closed last week. I saw the lot for sale in a great neighborhood close to shopping. This neighborhood had mostly been built eight years ago except for a few lots that people were holding on to. When I called, the property owner didn’t respond to my messages. Then the LTS sales rep called, got the property owner on the phone and was able to purchase the lot at reduced price for me. It is a larger lot, ¾ acre, and I have my own woods in the back and trees around the sides so there is privacy. The sales rep checked beforehand to make sure from the topography that I would not have water problems. They built the house to my specification. Any changes I wanted were done. For example, I wanted windows in the attic and on the west side of the house. Now I get cool breezes throughout. It is a beautiful home — everything is high quality. 50 year architectural shingles for example. Poured concrete basement walls. My HVAC is in the basement rather than in the attic as the cheaper builders do. It is very quiet as is the air conditioner condenser, which they put on the side I requested. My washer and dryer hookups are in the basement as I requested. There is a high pitch to the roof, which is quality — keeps the snow off in winter. Because there was so much vertical clearance in the attic from the high pitch(about 7 feet in the center area), I asked for floorboards and they did it. Now I have a huge usable space in the attic from one side of the house to the other. So I have four levels in all — basement, two floors, attic. I show photos to my friends and relatives of the house inside and out and they love it. And I disagree with the poster below who talked about having to use banks suggested by LTS. I used my own lender and he ordered his own appraiser. And I got a great deal as my lender is my friend. The appraisal came out at the sale price. I am very happy with my house and would recommend LTS to anyone.

I was just visiting friends on the east coast and decided to visit LTS on a lark to do a little research. I’m building a home in Colorado and wanted to see if it really is as frustrating as my experience has been. Wow. These guys have the whole program figured out. Their sales reps are really knowledgeable and they understand both the land and the house side of the business. They explained everything really well and when I got to their design center it was all right there. Super easy and I got some cool ideas for my new place. It really is a great operation. I wish they built nationally because we would love to buy from these guys.
