While driving east on Rt. 30, the«By The Way Café» sign certainly caught my attention. It was around 1:15 pm and I turned into their large parking lot for lunch. My first impression after just 2 – 3 minutes was that this is a very friendly café and also, very local. I did not notice that the café closed at 1:45 pm, so I was limited to 30 minutes for my meal. I ordered one of the many different styled hamburgers on the menu which turned out to be excellent. It included fried mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese. It looked and tasted like a «home cooked» burger. The lunch menu is heavily weighted toward burgers but there are dinner meals available. It would appear from my one time visit that the quality of food is above average and the prices seemed to be a bargain compared to larger cities. The facility was clean, there is plenty of seating space, the parking lot is huge, my service was friendly and fast. Aunt Mable’s By The Way Café is on Facebook with a 4.6(4 ½ stars) rating. Overall, I would definitely stop here again if I am in the area around meal time.
