So let’s think about this… East Point, Rastafarians, and Taco’s… That’s what u need to prep for. They make some good food for sure but u gotta stand outside and wait. This is not a Resturant by far but more of a hut filled with awesome sauce. If you Dont have patience or drive a semi… This is not the place for you as there is an average 20 min wait but everyone else needs to come and experience their dishes. Everything is served fresh and in your face which somehow adds to the delicious flavor!

I LOVETACOPETE’S!!! I was introduced late spring to this place by a co-worker, though I attend church right around the corner, I never though to stop by. I usually get the wings combo with two shrimp tacos(all the way) and I am never disappointed! Prices are AWESOME too! Keep in mind: Its a walk up establishment(outdoor seating only) Parking can be tight. Call ahead on your order, the food is tasty but it takes a while for them to get the orders out. If its a nice enough day I would call my order ahead and then just enjoy it on the outdoor seating. I went twice last week and once today, though I brought my lunch to work! Thats how good it is.

Not the best looking place to eat or the nicest neighborhood, but the food is amazing. Love the steak tacos!

I lived in the area for years without trying Taco Pete. It doesn’t look like much. It’s jut a small hut. Despite the modest appearance, the food is high quality. Taco Pete serves tacos, burritos, burgers, wings, etc… I usually have tacos or the taco salad. The chicken taco salad is tasty and filling for a great price. The tacos are inexpensive as well, so it’s easy to grab two or three for lunch. My favorites are the chicken and the shrimp. This place can be very busy during lunch, but they usually prepare orders quickly. I’ve been there several times and never had an issue with my meal.

Some of the best tacos in Atlanta! Corn shell, fresh ingredients and always warm and made to order. Try the shrimp tacos and beef taco salad. No matter what you order, you’ll walk away a fan of this quaint spot!

No frills, solid lunch and dinner. All seating is outside, so plan to come either on a nice day or for take-out. Tacos are the mainstay! Hardshell«all the way» comes with your choice of meat + usual fixings. There’s a softshell option, but the hardshells with hot sauce soaked in are the best. They’ve been open for 10 years with a stupid taco bell across the street(so you know they’re good).

Taco Pete has the best tacos and wings PERIOD. My favorite taco is the shrimp and favorite wing is lemon pepper, but everything they cook explodes with flavor!

You know, when someone says ‘amazing’ tacos, you have to be a bit skeptical. I mean, what are you really gonna do with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and a tortilla shell that’s going to be that different from what anyone else does? Besides the homemade tasting soft corn tortillas, I’m not sure what they put in these things, but they are right… AMAZING!!! I started easy with a chicken taco and a shrimp taco, both on soft corn tortillas. After those, I knew I had to have more… went for the steak burrito with everything and shared a steak quesadilla with the nephew… again, totally worth however many extra miles I’ll have to put on the treadmill. Thanks for being awesome, Taco Pete!

Great wings!!! Best turkey burgers!!! Greaf tacos!!! I LOVEEE Taco Pete. Whenever I’m the east point area, stopping there is a must. I will say most of the time they are busy as ever and the wait is lengthy. I recommend pre calling your order 20 min in advance. It’s your typical street taco stand… pretty standard quality. I’ve had them about 5 times and enjoyed my meal each time. Feels like I’m back in Cali(but they offer hard shell– I haven’t found that at most taco stands in LA) Stop by.

Oh sooo delicious! The tacos are better than homemade, with marinated shredded chicken and fresh toppings. And I could not believe the price!!! My new favorite taco and WINGSPOT! The hot wings are slamming and not too salty. Overall satisfying meal :) you can truly taste the TLC in this family-owned business.

Okay so I had a tougher time rating this as it is hard to compare a taco stand style to a restaurant. Being from Arizona, I have been searching for the legit taco stand. The best tacos I have had so far have been from Bar Taco on Howell Mill. These tacos were subpar I ordered a shrimp and potato burrito for the lady, two beef tacos and two chicken tacos with guacamole on hard shells. The shrimp burrito was okay but it really lacked flavor. It wasn’t to die for, and it was actually a little expensive but the size made sense it was big! The chicken tacos were gone in two minutes– they were worth getting! They had a little spice and were perfect, but the taco shells were broken(they looked like the one from the taco kit you can buy at Kroger) and the food fell everywhere The beef tacos were okay. Might as well get the dollar menu beef tacos across the street. Keep in mind this is a great spot if you want to sit outside and enjoy yourself, there is shaded seating. All in all, I’m still searching for that spot. The prices were decent and it’s always cool to see small businesses doing well as it seems like a popular spot.

Everything is so full of flavor and delicious. The meat has the perfect amount of tenderness. The burgers are kind of small, and yeah, there’s only outdoor seating, but its a great spot for lunch.

I love this place. It’s near the airport. I always get three steak tacos. The staff has always been super friendly to me. The food is made to order. I highly recommend it. There’s nice people and car watching. It can be busy and can take about ten minutes to get your food. Lots of people call ahead. The parking lot can turn into a mess set peak hours. Next time I might park across the street at Taco Bell and walk. I love the review that calls it a hood taco.

I’m from LA and we call these hood tacos. They are not authentic but they are on point. These are kind of tacos ya mom makes at the house. I recommend you get the soft shell over the hard shell. The hard shell is Taco Bell quality but the soft shell are on point. I got the hard shell chicken and beef and a soft shell shrimp. I can’t lie the soft shell shrimp was one of the best tacos I’ve had in Atlanta. The shrimp taste fresh and blends well with all the ingredients. I would order the beef and chicken again but they would have to be soft shell to do them justice.

Best of authentic non-hispanic cooking people. The place looks like a dive from the street; there is only outside parking; the customer service could be a little better but they make up on it with the food. They sell a variety of food like chicken wings taco salad burritos as well as tacos in all of its pretty good you will not be disappointed.

I stumbled upon this gem while trying to get to the taco bell across the street! Parking is hard to find during lunch, so I parked at the taco bell and walked. You order at the window and wait for them to call your name, there is only outdoor seating under a awning. I ordered steak, beef, and chicken tacos all soft. The soft tortilla is fried! A pleasant surprise when my tacos came out, and it was able to hold all the ingredient in well without getting soggy. Chicken — 5⁄5 — probably the best chicken soft taco I’ve ever had. I am not a big chicken fan — so I wasn’t expecting much, but this ended up being my favorite taco out of the three. I can’t exactly point out what I like about it, besides that it is juicy and flavorful. All the tacos come with lettuce, tomatoes, and hot sauce. Beef — 4⁄5 — the beef taco was also veryyyy good, and would definitely get again. Flavorful beef, with good texture and flavor. Went well with the normal toppings and hot sauce. Steak — 3⁄5 — my least favorite out of the three, but still decent. Something about the texture that I didn’t enjoy as much as the other two. Flavor was just okay.

Taco Pete gets a 3.5 star rating from me. The food? Awesome. I ordered«the Joe» which is 2 chicken soft tacos and a chicken quesadilla which came out to be about $ 9.80. It’s called the Joe because my coworker orders that the same every time and now they know his order. The tacos were not soft like Taco Bell(they came in a harder shell but were soft from the juices). The chicken inside was super tender and it comes with some hot sauce that spices things up. I love all the add-in’s they have… your standard tomato, lettuce, cheese and some cilantro! Sour cream is on the side. The quesadilla was soft and tender because of the cheese. I could probably eat two of those a day and double my size in no itme! The service? Mediocre. It’s more of a knock on the speed. They clearly have the sign posted outside: «We do not serve FASTFOOD, we make good food as fast as we can.» Regardless… it took about 15 minutes to get my order which is longer than I expected. The person taking your order behind the counter is super friendly! Now… the bump to 4 stars is this. Taco Pete and I share names and we’ve been doing an inadvertent tango for quite awhile. It all started 4 months ago when a coworker found this place and raved about it(and has been raving about it every week since). Due to meetings, it being cold outside(by the way, they have no indoor seating), and always having other lunch plans, I kept putting off meeting the famous Pete(I think the other Taco Pete is in Los Angeles). Well, finally, February 21 comes around and I’m ready to meet Pete and Joe was ready to go in for his 3rd Pete meet and greet of the week. But then he changes plans and cancels! It almost seemed like Pete and Pete would never meet. However, at the last minute, Joe changes his mind and history is made so that Pete can finally get his Taco Pete fixing. Hats off to Taco Pete for a well run business!

Never judge a book by a cover is a cliché that holds true here. At first glance, Taco Pete is a shady, little shack and overshadowed by the Taco Bell bully one foot away from it. A David and Goliath situation if you will. After deciding to be adventurous, I gave Taco Pete a chance and was modestly impressed. I had a hard shelled beef taco, a soft shelled chicken taco, and a chili-dog. And each was fair. The soft shelled chicken taco stood out the most for its soft yet crunchy tortilla shell. Its only downfall was that the chicken tasted like it was boiled in water for days. The tacos each had lettuce, onion, cilantro, and sriracha-like taco sauce. Service was amicable as Kris remembered our names and waved us a friendly goodbye as if we were long-time friends. However, I would avoid this place during busier days as the wait can get long and the service feels a little more rushed. Other observations: This place has a lot of variety ranging from turkey burgers, wings, burritos, and so forth. There is a nice seating area with shade. Prices are as cheap as they get.
