This is the Citgo just west of South Fulton hospital at the intersection of Cleveland and Norman Berry. I usually go to Citgo gas stations if they are around when that light comes on in my car that means something like, «You should have gotten gas a while ago and if you don’t get gas now you may be stuck on the side of the road any minute now.» I know there are a lot of problems with oil companies– Exxon Valdez, BP oil spill in the gulf, Shell totally messing up Africa and I’ve decided that I can stomach Citgo and their problems best. Anyway…this particular Citgo is not my fave to say the least. You have to go inside to pay and that means you need to be able to tell them how much money your automobile will require. I am not a mathematician and frankly on spot math stresses me out pretty hard core. So I usually end up underestimating the amount needed to completely fill the tank or over estimating the amount I need. Then it takes more time… annoying! The selection of over priced convenience store goods is also lacking. AND this may sound really nutty but more than once I’ve been walking in and unable to determine whether or not a robbery was underway. The people are all kinds of routy and shouting and I’m just not sure if I need to back out slowly or if this is just the norm. That makes me feel a little weird. The other thing that makes me feel strange is that they really treat me better than any person of color who walks inside the store at about the same time– like I get priority treatment. I don’t like that– since having noticed that I really don’t think I’ll be going back.
