Bob’s Dairy Dream

Bobs dairy dream has some of the best ice cream around. Prices are very reasonable. Like many other ice cream shops, they offer fried food as well. They offer a great variety of fried food, but I would like to see a couple healthier options. I will definitely be returning for ice cream in the spring!

Great ice cream — think of a Dairy Queen Blizzard. The food is your typical bad for you food. The chili cheese dogs are pretty good. Service is hit or miss, but it is typically just high school kids on summer break. The prices have gone up, but are still pretty reasonable.

My husband and I stop in to quite a few ice cream places while out in our Harley rides. This evening we stopped at Bob’s. We each got a ‘Twister’. I got a puppy chow version and my husband got an Andes Mint version. Mine was great. My husbands however left much to be desired. He hates Oreos and for some reason that one has Oreos mixed in too. Disappointed.

Not from the area, my boyfriend takes lead and drives me through farm land and local neighborhoods on a search for a tasty treat or coffee. After discovering a couple places around Morton had already closed (after 9 on a Sunday), we find that Bob’s Dairy Dream is still open!
Families were hanging out the picnic tables and a short line was formed right were they take your order from the window. So, it was a good indication, the place wasn’t closing any time soon. That made us very happy.
Think of a Dairy Queen Stand… Bob’s Dairy Dream is basically a little building with teenagers running the shop. If you’re not from the area, you probably would not find Bob’s. Quite literally, it’s in the middle of a neighborhood.
Anyway, I had a turtle shake (caramel, pecans, chocolate). They had a lot of combos for shakes (like blizzards from DQ) along with hot dogs and other grilled foods. I was happy with my very affordable shake.
Overall, would I go back there to get another one or a different item? Not sure… maybe if I was in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back. It just didn’t leave a lasting impression.
I could find similar products in other places. They did have a good price though and locals appeared to really like it.
