This place is not worth it. The service is slow although our waitress seemed nice. It took forever to get our food and then it was super salty, greasy Chinese food that you would expect from a cheap takeout place. Honestly, I would have preferred Panda Express over this place. Mediocre atmosphere and disgusting bathrooms. I paid $ 14 for a basic entrée and couldn’t even eat half of it because it was so displeasing. My cousin said his fried rice was very meh and he didn’t finish his meal either. This is a TEENAGEBOY who didn’t eat his whole meal! This boy eats anything and everything and he wouldn’t eat at this place. Take from that what you will.

This place has taken a turn for the worse since my 2008 review. Very unfriendly wait staff when dining in. Be sure they understand what you want to order otherwise if it comes out wrong don’t expect them to take it back or even apologize. The ambiance is very outdated. The food is so much tastier down the road at Jade Palace and can’t compete with newer places like Mio 5 minutes away. Take out is still decent which is why I’ve given 2 stars. Just don’t expect friendly employees when picking up orders

People are absolutely out of their minds if they think this isn’t amazing Chinese food. I have been coming here since they opened, and can i just say, i travel from Astoria Queens to go to this old school-sit down– Chinese restaurant. The wonton soup is so fresh, if you come during lunch hour you can watch them craft the wonton’s from scratch! So cool! My favorite dish is the chicken and broccoli and fried rice combo platter– you cannot find decent fried rice anywhere, except here! The broccoli is always cooked to a nice crunch which is also very unique. My boyfriend ordered the house special egg foo young(well done– always ask well done anywhere you go it makes a world of difference) — he said, and i quote«that was the best egg foo young of my life». And we’re chubby pickles who go to eat way too much, and order Chinese food as if it was the only thing to eat in Queens. I have to say the service could have been slightly better– for instance they would take a spoon from my boyfriends plate and give it to my friend sitting next to me(we were a party of 6). Best Chinese food ever.

Slow, steady decline. Soup is too watery, and the last few times I ordered the roster pork it was foul, like rancid and spoiled, opt for a cup of Raman instead

I dont eat inside a lot but the service has always been fine. I almost always order take out because the inside is a little small and it gets crowded sometimes. This is the best Chinese food around I can find and you get a decent amount of food for the price, especially with the lunch specials.

We had a party of six lunch at Precious on Friday. After reading the past reviews I have to say we all very disappointed .The cesspool stench is very noticeable in the back parking lot for starters. We were seated at a table that was not clean the table cloth had fresh stains and the napkins were soiled. The food was below average at best .The wonton soup is a misnomer it had thin dumplings instead of wontons. The General Tso chicken was just ok nothing special. The service was terrible! we had to ask for napkins which were just placed on the table in a stack she handed us the dishes for us to pass around when the food came she did the same thing never a smile or a thank you ! We have much better Chinese restaurants in the area i would not recommend Precious to anyone .I whish I could rate it no stars

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner. The place was very busy. I enjoyed the wonton soup. It had small, delicate wontons instead of the heavier type you normally get. The soup was very flavorful. I’m picky about my wonton soup and usually have to add duck sauce and hot mustard to most wonton soups I’ve had elsewhere to give it flavor, not here! Ordered scallion pancakes for appetizer. Crisp, warm and flavorful. Yum! For dinner my mom and I both ordered General Tso’s chicken(requested white meat only) with fried rice and it also came with an egg roll. She ordered hers not spicy and I didn’t. Both dishes were crispy, had enough sauce and were delicious. The only downside was mine was supposed to be spicy and it wasn’t. I loved the fried rice. It was flavorful and had lots of egg and green peas which I love. My uncle ordered the Lo Mein combination which came with fried rice and an egg roll. That was also flavorful and a good sized portion.

Food is good, but it’s not worth the risk. Went here about a year ago and when I took home my leftovers a cockroach was on the bag. Never been back since

Best Chinese restaurant in the area. Love the fact that they don’t overdo it on the grease. The lo mein is perfect and the shrimp toast is delicious. This is definitely a go-to place for Chese when we’re in the area.

The best Chinese food around! Nice atmosphere with traditional Asian flair. Food is superior. Employees are curt but pleasant. Take out is always quick and easy. Prices are reasonable. Parking is ample.

Precious is my favorite Chinese food place in the area. The inside is really nothing special, but the food is consistently good. Great take out place. ***UPDATE*** This food is the best Chinese food in the area. I’ve been trying many places since I last wrote review, and hands down… precious is the best.

Precious has been consistently good, my family and I have been ordering from here and eating in here since I was a small child and we’ve never had a bad experience. The food is very good, and delivery is really fast. Service inside the restaurant is also very attentive. I personally enjoy their sesame chicken the best out of all the other Chinese restaurants in the area, though their General Tso’s verges on almost too spicy at times. Their egg rolls are very good and my favorite dish here is their crab rangoons, which are very well made. Another favorite of recent years is the Firecracker beef, which is very nice and crispy. Their soups are fairly decent, as well and they usually throw in a free wonton soup if you order enough take-out in a sitting which is nice. Also, in my opinion some of the best fried rice in the area. The ambience in the restaurant is a bit dated, but then we haven’t been going here for the atmosphere. Precious is a solid place to go in the Northport area for some good Chinese, especially for delivery.

Went here recently… we pull into the parking lot, get out. begin walking toward the door and are greeted by the foul stench of what had to be a cesspool. It was horrendous. Skip ahead to us entering the establishment. It was 80 degrees outside, it had to be 85 degrees inside the restaurant. Stale air, stuffy. we sat for 5 minutes waiting to be seated before we asked ourselves what in the world are we doing here???

Once in a blue Im in the mood for Chinese so with the help of Unilocal we gave this place a shot. Even for a basic chicken w broccoli or general tso’s it’s not that great. I feel bad saying it but there was something about the food that wasnt very appealing. Sorry Precious!

Place is going downhill a bit lately. I am very disappointed to report this… the general Tso chicken is just about the worst anywhere. That’s an extreme disappointment. Please get better guys. You are so close and have been the only Chinese place I could count on. Singapore Mei Fun noodles are still good

Used to eat here a lot. Have stopped going there because found a ROACH in the bag while getting takeout. I filed a complaint with the Dept of health and they(Dept of Health) called back to thank me for reporting because it was one of multiple complaints and multiple failed inspections.

I just moved to the Old Chester Hills area of Huntington and I searched Unilocal for a Chinese Food spot that also delivered to this area. A few people on the block said that Precious was the place to order from so we decided to give it a try tonight. I am regretting all $ 35 of this decision. Our order was very typical: beef w/broccoli, sesame chicken, pork fried rice, white rice, and wonton soup. Not a single item was even close to being average. I can’t even describe the taste but to say the least, it just was not good at all. I am highly disappointed but at least I know this is one place we will never order from ever again. I’m extremely shocked that so many people on Unilocal said this was the best Chinese food in the area. It definitely isn’t…the food didn’t even physically look like the Chinese food«norm». If you want really good Chinese food, stay away from Precious because you won’t find it here.

FOOD-Solid«old school» Chinese food and above average for sure. 7 out of 10 AMBIANCE-Hasn’t changed since the 80’s but clean and well kept. 5 out of 10 SERVICE-Quick and attentive but not particularly polite. 6 out of 10 VALUE-Great lunch and dinner specials and large portions. 9 out of 10 SUMMARY-It’s not fine dining, but I would definitely return for good Chinese food at good prices. The food review was based off of wonton soup, egg rolls, fried rice, chicken with ginger, and hunan beef.
