I am very dismayed upon discovering that Café Lebanon is closed! One of my friends in the Springfield area claims that it might be under new management and under a new name, but if that’s not true, then this is a huge bummer! My mom used to come to Café Lebanon with friends at night to see live bellydancing and munch on very good Lebanese food. We also went here for my 21st birthday, when I had my first martini: a huge, glorious drink called Kiss From a Bellydancer. It was a creamy cocktail with a Hershey kiss at the bottom. I’m sure similar drinks exist, but I was so hoping to have another one here again! Sure, I’m fortunate to live near Mamoun’s in New Haven, which is good too, but this place was a lot classier than Mamoun’s and the items like stuffed grape leaves and the lamb dishes were definitely a cut above!

My wife & I have been here several times. The first time was a lunch & the server recommended the turkey kabob’s with fatoosh(salad). Wow! We were hooked. The garlic thoum(dip) is amazing, turkey is marinated in I believe yogurt, and grilled perfectly, rice is moist and flavorful and the fatoosh is a unique with pita croutons, radish, lots of herbs and a fresh lemon juice vinaigrette. We had since then tried several other items on the menu, the hummus is good but nothing else was great. Well, since then things have changed. Server is gone, cook is gone, manager is gone but owner the same. Like I said, we have been back several times and have seen the changes. To us, the food & service is not the same.

Not very good. Falafel lunch plate came with three falafel balls and a tiny ramekin of tahini and a pile of bland rice pilaf and some shredded parsley on the side. Menu said hummus was included but had to ask for it after meal was brought out. No pita was served with the dish. Falafel balls were very tasty but overall experience was way sub-par Doubt I will ever come back

Nothing special here. I went for dinner with my girlfriend and her 9 year-old. The atmosphere is awesome. The dude playing the sax in the corner was especially cool. Seriously, if I were on a date, I wouldn’t hesitate. The martinis are exceptional. *****If you’re a single 20-something dude, this would be a great place to pick up cougars. PLUSTHEYLOOKRICH***** My lady got the pan seared chicken, which was actually really good. I got the lamb shank and was moderately disappointed. The kid got a steak, which was AWESOME and cooked to perfection. The hommachoes, or whatever they are called, are pretty fantastic. An add combination of hummus and jalapenos on pita chips can’t go wrong! The reason for three stars was because I was hoping for something a little more… ethnic. Maybe I got the wrong dishes, but this definitely left more to be desired.
