Another dime a dozen«Chinese» place in EL. Typical rule, if you add a Z to something, that means you are hiding something/trying to polish a turd. This is no different. Avoid this place…

Likely permanently closed… 6 months later and the«Grand Opening» banner still waves ominously. Thought I’d pick up a menu(and smell the place as suggested in other reviews) before trying anything, but they’ve been locked up tight all week. No lights, sign, nothing. Maybe it’s the holiday? Maybe not, phone is disconnected, too.

Gave this place a second try. Yuck, yuck! I have no idea how it stays open. The only thing going for it was the service. The table was sticky, silverware dirty, there was a foul odor in the air and the food was worse than my first visit. If you want good food, go somewhere else. I really was hoping to have a good experience now that the restaurant has had time to work out the kinks. It just got worse over time. Nothing like the authentic Chinese food I had in China and nothing like the american version you can find all around town. In short, go somewhere else!

If you come here, make sure to order from the«authentic menu.» Apparently the regular menu is the dumbed-down American version of Asian food. I ordered the beef kalbi — korean style beef shortribs — they were a little salty, but good. The eggplant with ginger-garlic scallions was a clear winner — lightly sauteed in a great sauce, just enough spice to give it heat but not so much that it overwhelms the taste. Good service, zero ambiance. Once you get inside, make sure to look at the real menu options so that you get to the pan-Asian heart of this otherwise nondescript college town spot. I give this place an East Lansing 4 star — it’s much better than expected.

I had their beef noodles on the authentic Chinese menu, they were fantastic!!! Reminds me of the beef noodle I had in Taiwan. I have not tried anything else yet, but I will definitely go back just for their beef noodles!
