I was in the Islip area and in need of a 5lb non-​Purdue full chicken for a dinner in with some friends, and fellow Unilocaler Justine C. pointed me in the direction of Storks Prime Meats. After visiting and learned that they only had a 3.5lb chicken (as their largest), I was quite disappointed and was left un-​satisfied. I’m a die hard fan of Setauket Quality Meats which I firmly believe is the best butcher in a 15−20mi radius of the Port Jefferson/​Stony Brook area with Cow Palace to follow.
If I’m in dire needs of animal related products from a non-​chain grocery store and I happen to be in East Islip, I’ll visit, otherwise, it’s back to Setauket Quality Meats, Whole Foods etc.
